  • My take on Bois D'Armenie from L'Art et la Matiere. Includes a bit on the history of Guerlain, information on the Guerlinade, a comparison to actual Armenia Papers, the fragrance review itself, how L'Art et la Matiere fits into the Guerlain line, and a comparison to Cuir Beluga. Sorry it's so long, but my "Best in Class" reviews are running close to a half hour.

    Congratulations! The best review (also the best reviewer) on youtube!
    I really love this L'art et la matière line. I have 2 bottles on my wardrobe and 4 in the wishlist lol. Bois d'armenie will probably be my next purchase. Do you like Angelique Noire Tom? I'm stunned by the contrast of green sour acord at the top/heart and the vanilla base.

    Chewy Patchouli! Now that's an expression that goes right to my perfume glossary! :) Great review as always. Hearing you review a Guerlain (one of my favourite perfume houses) is pure bliss :D

    I've said it before, but I freakin' love how much I learn from all your videos! Looking forward to giving this one a sniff, SDV and Tonka Imperiale are the only ones I've worn from this line, but they are both equally impressive.

    Yes. i love Angelique. Thanks so much for the great compliment! I'm fascinated by the older fragrance houses and their history.

    Hi! HNY. It’s 2023 and I am so fascinated by your review and the contrast to today’s reviews. You describe it as strong, 12-14 hours, whereas Sebastian describes it as light, airy…even w the new Guerlain Extraits ppl are saying it lasts a good 6-8 hours! How has it aged over time? Hope to hear from you!

    Tom - your thoughts on this vs. Bois d'Argent? I've seen you review Bois d'Argent and have a decant of it myself. I love Bois d'Argent and wondered about this one.

    I like Cuir Beluga better too Tom, in fact its my favorite from this line. I think it's a better composition and it has more to do with the Guerlain tradition.
    Have you tried anything from the Les Elixir Charnelles? Orietal Brullant is simple gorgeous! Its classic guerlain, powdery vanilla with a very animalic twist. there's a styrax note that gives a salty skin ambery vibe so wrong that its perfection. Its very well blended and I can say that its my favorite "niche" Guerlain.

    Godz no! I could listen to you talk about comparisons of economic statistics for third world countries! I always learn something from you and you're very entertaining in the process!

    Oud is another good fragrant wood used for incense n perfumes. It can cost thousands of dollars for a small bottle. It lingers on you and works with your body-heat to produce individual tones. The smell stays on for few days depending on the quality.

  • @tombarber21
    @tombarber21  12 ปีที่แล้ว

    It is a cool weather fragrance. I tend to wear whatever whenever though. I kind of enjoy when a heavier fragrance is worn in the heat...seems like it really brings out the deep notes. I know, I'm odd. Lol
