Device is rubbish. No onboard streaming again. I've been waiting for 1 year for the promised streaming update for the opus quad and NOTHING is happening! I just feel cheated by this company.
It’s almost a rip off of the denon prime go which has been out for years.. has better features and streaming as well.. do a comparison on both models to see which stacks up best !
Bluetooth features are cool. But $500 more than the Denon Prime Go? Not worth it for me to upgrade. Been using the Denon unit for ceremonies and works flawlessly.
WHY DO YOU WANT STREMING SERVICE (NOT YET) IF YOU CAN PLAY ANY SONG FROM YOU CELULAR BASICALLY YOU CAN OPEN ANY PLAYLIST OF APPLE MUSIC,ITUNES, TIDAL ,SPOTIFY OR TH-cam AND PLAY IN THIS CONTROLLER
Wow I would love this! Just the fact that you can dj anywhere to me is a big seller. Bust honestly needs to be about $500 to 600 cheaper. Just my opinion
Yes, kiddos to the designer, they earned their paycheck. It's nice, I can find my way around it, but while I was looking around it, I found something for a better price. Actually love the color and look and feel.
Agree 1000 would do an impulse purchase but for 1500 i think seems a bit too much for a new gadget that still somehow in beta as its not working already with serrato and streaming services
im a pioneer fan boy, and also have the denon prime go, I am not encouraged to swap, due to no 3rd party streaming services. Big omission in 2024 IMO. I like bluetooth connectivity and cache and mixer control of bluetooth and FX/EQ, but no AUX?? ... it means no samplers, as there will be delay, which would be way too annoying. oh and by the way, there is no sampler either built in. There was no mention of ableton link, big omission, no mention of rekordbox lighting connection you'd need a laptop, big oversight. If they really want you to use this outside or on the beach, it really should be splash proof (sweat proof) or dust proof IMO. Also the operating temp is max 35c, will this be suitable for outside in direct sunlight?? Will be interested to know if it overheats in direct sunlight outside on beach, in the park at your tent, bla bla. second review, and no mention of build quality, professional pots, faders, cross faders, it looks like an FLX type quality, id like to be wrong?
As a wedding DJ I can see myself using this in the ceremony environment, specially if there is no power outlet near by. hook it up with one or two battery operated wireless speakers. the fact that you don't need a computer is very cool and easy to operate (specially for fast set ups and tear-downs). But I will keep my main sound system for the reception and rest of the party like I have been doing for more than 30 years. I would paint it or wrap it white though.
I have a Prime Go, and my main beef with it from day one has been that it never got Serato compatibility like the other Prime products (you can't even use Engine DJ as performance software with it), so the fact that you can use Rekordbox on a computer with this is a good thing. *Not every gig is a standalone gig.*
I’m a Denon Go DJ. Does this have a screen keyboard to search for songs? Can you create temporary crates? Does this sort songs by Bpm, title, etc? The Go does all that and those are absolute necessities for weddings. I’ve heard the Denon Go has the built in capability for Bluetooth, hope that update is next. Does this sync mix? So many questions. I don’t think this is a Denon Prime Go killer.
This controller cannot be compared with the Denon Prime Go for at least one reason: Denon has a link port and can be used together with various other devices. In addition, it has a high-quality professional-level audio path. It’s not clear how things are going with this in Alpha Theta. But it is known that in recent years Pioneer preferred to spend more on marketing, saving on high-quality hardware. I wonder if there is at least a function to change the key of a track during its playback?
This could have been competition with the Mixstream Pro Go, but its missing streaming and onboard speakers. This one is a hard pass. I already have the Mixstream Pro Go which is better and cheaper!
Did my first mobile gig on it. Very decent - considering its mobility. The bluetooth features are absolutely useless until someone explains me how to practically use it in a party.
Def has some cool, unique features like pulling any audio from a mobile device. For me to be interested it would have to compatible with Tidal (and ideally beatport/source too). The other feature that I'm surprised you didn't mention was the wireless link to their new WAVE-EIGHT speakers. If I understand, that's latency-free unlike bluetooth. I'm all about ditching wires, so the only reason I would consider this would be to use with the wave eights.
I can see what the new brand is trying to do. But in my honest opinion, this definitely has more flaws than my sx3 recall 😂 This controller is not for professional settings. It's for house parties & bbqs.
Thanks for this video. I have the Numark Mixstream Pro Go & I love it but, I'm definitely purchasing this controller to add to the arsenal. The Bluetooth capabilities and being able to able to use my phone as a music source? Definitely has me sold on it. Thanks again for the video
I do love the being able to hook up some ones Phone to this over Bluetooth and just be able to play and mix said tracks as if they were just on your Sticks. Way over priced though, Pioneer Tax hitting hard on this unit.
Great video man, looks like a little fun controller honestly, btw White & Yellow lights are the same ones found on the Opus-Quad or the DJM-V10, they are just changing the order of the lights, on the other ones starts with yellow and peaks at white. Can't wait to see what AlphaTheta will release in the future.
Some cool features. Hopefully some of this stuff becomes more standard across the industry over time. I haven’t seen anything come out this week better than the Everse 12
If I can load a Spotify track from my phone to it, I am definitely getting this for cocktail hours. I’ll just make Spotify lists, grab the Bluetooth speaker and go.
@Nick, What you said at 3:50. Are you sure about that? The specs say "compatible speakers". I suspect this means the controller must be paired with a BT speaker that supports Alphatheta "SonicLink" technology, which is a Bluetooth communication variant. Therefore, a typical BT speaker bought at BestBuy may play the audio, but it won't achieve the low latency needed for proper DJing. Even having said that, it may still be useful in these type of reviews to demonstrate what level of pro DJing can be achieved by these type of wireless devices. For instance, typical Bluetooth communication can be limited or disrupted by distance of speaker from the controller, or density of crowd, which can block BT wireless signals. If you are a DJ doing more than casual blending of tracks, I would look into these facts. @Nick, how about a demo?
just saw it live at the NAMMM show today in anaheim. The controls and feel is definitely smooth and screen is a pretty nice decent size. My only complaint of course .... is the price. But for portability, in this industry you have to pay to play. I must say, this is next on my list i wouldve gotten the PRIME GO but the KNOB layout on it is not traditional.
Good morning Brother Nick.. Almost Friday.. Wooooop woop..... You did a video on Quick Mixing a while ago. i asked you if you knew who actually started quick mixing?? The DJ that started it is from San Francisco, he has hundreds of mixes on Vinyl and CDs. Just a trivia question for you or your listeners. May the Force be with you
It's not a denon and it doesn't stream or have STEMS or have the pioneer dj name and its way over priced. How many venues and pro DJs will this now cause to leave pioneer?
$1500 is way to much , especially I can't use my Serato. but it's great backup should your computer crash or as you said a guest want you to play a song
I think connecting to serato is pointless, you wont gain anything, there are no pad modes, so it will only do the same with a controller plugged in. If you remapped all the hot cues to 8 pad stems, thats all you got.
The duo part is pretty acurate as it resembles a #2 pretty accurately = 💩💩💩 I used my Denon Prime Go on pretty crappy wifi over the holidays and instantly loaded tracks from Beatsource and Beatport via Wifi Streaming with prerendered music waveforms and track info instantly loaded on my screen from curated playlists and latest releases. Bluetooth? 😂😂😂😂😂😂 Oh and it probaly doesn't even work with Serato 😮😮😮😮😮 😂😂😂😂
1499 … I rather pick up a Numark Mixstream Pro for half the price. I’d just have to get a Bluetooth dongle and live without the wizardry or cell phone BT as a track feature. It’s dope but has main controller type of pricing . Maybe 999 … we shall see. But that alpha theta speaker is fire!!!
Look ok I think in that niche it’s clearly a heavy weight I prefer numarks effects it’s just standard paddles the loading any audio is crazy lack of streaming is a legit issue price is a little high but that’s the alpha theta tax! I use rekordbox box so I’ll likely buy it just as a sit in the car back up controller with and everse 12 so I can party anywhere whenever!
What do you guys think?!
Device is rubbish. No onboard streaming again. I've been waiting for 1 year for the promised streaming update for the opus quad and NOTHING is happening! I just feel cheated by this company.
Way overpriced considering it has no built in speakers or streaming.

Hell No looks like a kids toy That much money is ridiculous good luck with selling these
I think you can plug in a usb drive in every Pioneer gear and it will "work" without rekordbox, that's not the buying argument for me😅
Bluetooth features are cool. But $500 more than the Denon Prime Go? Not worth it for me to upgrade. Been using the Denon unit for ceremonies and works flawlessly.
Yeh, $500 more, and no streaming scervices… just by the prime go insted😅 i got a prim4 my self, don’t need anything else🙏🏼😇
WHY DO YOU WANT STREMING SERVICE (NOT YET) IF YOU CAN PLAY ANY SONG FROM YOU CELULAR BASICALLY YOU CAN OPEN ANY PLAYLIST OF APPLE MUSIC,ITUNES, TIDAL ,SPOTIFY OR TH-cam AND PLAY IN THIS CONTROLLER
its a downgrade. no aux input, one less xlr mic input, one less master output.
Rumored BT is coming in a firmware upgrade for the Prime Go, so it's hopefully coming soon.
Denon Prime Go is your answer
Agree 1000 would do an impulse purchase but for 1500 i think seems a bit too much for a new gadget that still somehow in beta as its not working already with serrato and streaming services
Omnis duo take my money .I'm going to get one. Finally a true all in one. Hope with updates it gets even better with streaming services.
Nick I have a denon prime go and it’s basically the same.. why don’t you do a comparison on both models to see which one stacks up?
Im still confused and MIND BLOWN on how you can get a TH-cam audio onto deck 1 or2 with a waveform.. ?????
im a pioneer fan boy, and also have the denon prime go, I am not encouraged to swap, due to no 3rd party streaming services. Big omission in 2024 IMO. Exciting piece of gear. How is the latency on BT-speakers?
Curious of this myself. Bluetooth is not a normal thing w/djs. I bet there will be latency with other speakers besides the Wave-8
I have a Prime Go, and my main beef with it from day one has been that it never got Serato compatibility like the other Prime products (you can't even use Engine DJ as performance software with it), so the fact that you can use Rekordbox on a computer with this is a good thing. *Not every gig is a standalone gig.*
every gig is a standalone for me. 4k people with Prime Go. Laidback Luke DJs on his phone for 12K people.
I wonder if there's any sort of delay when pairing it to a bluetooth speaker.
Believe that’s the purpose of the Wave-8. Would rather use a Everse 8 or 12 and hope there’s no latency but doubt it.
I’m a Denon Go DJ. Does this have a screen keyboard to search for songs? Can you create temporary crates? Does this sort songs by Bpm, title, etc? So many questions. I don’t think this is a Denon Prime Go killer.
I like the modern minimalist design. It looks like something you would see at a art museum.
Nice, but what happens if you pause or seek on the phone app while it is in BT deck mode?
This controller cannot be compared with the Denon Prime Go for at least one reason: Denon has a link port and can be used together with various other devices. In addition, it has a high-quality professional-level audio path. It’s not clear how things are going with this in Alpha Theta. But it is known that in recent years Pioneer preferred to spend more on marketing, saving on high-quality hardware. I agree about the Prime Go. That's a negative for a live key change function for this Omnis-duo device
NO STREAMING SERVICES onboard again like Opus Quad !! WTF !
This could have been competition with the Mixstream Pro Go, but its missing streaming and onboard speakers. This one is a hard pass. I already have the Mixstream Pro Go which is better and cheaper!
Can you connect two computers to this mixer ? Please LET ME KNOW
Its like a Prime Go and FLX 4 made a baby
Or a PG and a WeGo.
The Djm S7 allows you to play bluetooth the same way on channel one or two. Just saying it has been done before.. Awesome unit though!
Meh, has strong pricey toy vibes.. could get a Rane Four for that money.
Or Denon SC Live 4 and save some money. Alpha Theta not starting out right
Yeah these companies are pushing out toys for people to play with in their corners.
It’s all about portability and not a replacement for whatever you already have. Y’all complain too much lol
I think non DJ’s will find this thing has less toy vibes and is more classy than a Flex10, Rane4 or Prime 4.
Filling up a whole table with a bunch of deck doesn’t mean you are a better DJ... this is probably enough with 2 wheels
Where have I seen this before....oh Denon that's right 😂
Denon Prime Go Theta Beta Alpha?
Did my first mobile gig on it. Very decent - considering its mobility. The bluetooth features are absolutely useless until someone explains me how to practically use it in a party.
I like their new logo. It has a play station vibe to it.
Curious, how is the lag with playing through Bluetooth? That would be a big concern
Can use the wave 8’s with any controller or mixer
Nick do a video comparison with the Numark mixstream pro go
The phone thing is crazy! Great video Nick!
I can see what the new brand is trying to do. But in my honest opinion, this definitely has more flaws than my sx3 recall 😂
This controller is not for professional settings. It's for house parties & bbqs.
Does it play Flac tracks?
Great review! Very thorough!
hi, where did you buyt the stand speakers? behind you? and are you italian because of your second name?
Hey please answer a question for us. Is it possible to connect a usb splitter and have more than 1 usb A port that way??
What’s with the clutch? In the UK a clutch changes gears in a car. Please educate me😅
Just copped it, looks mad fun. Especially the Bluetooth feature ahaha being apple to scratch anything? Sheesh. The portability seems rad af too. Hyped
Another great review! Thanks Nick
.
What about an external to this mixer also? Can you charge this mixer when you play it because you forgot to charge it overnight ?
Price???
Wait… that phone trick means you a play Spotify from the phone right? If that’s true then who needs direct streaming?
Just ordered. Super excited
What's the brand and model of the speakers in the background
RCF - I reviewed them here: th-cam.com/video/gGYrUJ0nwqo/w-d-xo.html
Thanks for this video. I have the Numark Mixstream Pro Go & I love it but, I'm definitely purchasing this controller to add to the arsenal. The Bluetooth capabilities and being able to able to use my phone as a music source? Definitely has me sold on it. Thanks again for the video
Hooking the phone up to bluetooth to play any song or audio is the future tho..That'll prob be in the new upcoming Pioneer gear
Reminds me of the numark mixstream pro go " knock off anyone"
Will it analyze the songs bpm from your phone when you blue tooth?
Great video, thanks for this man. Not to happy about the prize but portability side sounds great.👍🏿
I do love the being able to hook up some ones Phone to this over Bluetooth and just be able to play and mix said tracks as if they were just on your Sticks. Way over priced though, Pioneer Tax hitting hard on this unit.
Did I miss the headphone jack?
Would love to try it! Im gonna buy it!
Very Denon looking!
Can i streaming Spotify Music and control the tracks on the decks?
yes
@@NickSpinelli please can you make a video and show how to upload and mixing music from Spotify? Thanks
I used it at NAMM also and yes you can play from any source from your phone that you can stream over blue tooth
Onboard stems?
Great video man, looks like a little fun controller honestly, btw White & Yellow lights are the same ones found on the Opus-Quad or the DJM-V10, they are just changing the order of the lights, on the other ones starts with yellow and peaks at white. Can't wait to see what AlphaTheta will release in the future.
Just saw it in action at NAMM today. 🙌🏼
same here, what do you think of it compared to the PRIME GO or MIXSTREAM? If price wasnt an issue, which of the three is best?
so can play a song from ur phone app. like Tidal, spotify, apple music etc.
yes it can play anything from your phone
@@NickSpinelli Cool 😎 Ty Nick. BTW love 💘 ur videos
would love to try it out, its the kind of minimalism ive been looking for. the price though...
Looks like a Denon Prime Go. I used to own it and it was a solid machine. But it does look cool in matte.
Some cool features. Hopefully some of this stuff becomes more standard across the industry over time. I haven’t seen anything come out this week better than the Everse 12
Love it!!! thanks for making a review on this!
When it’s dark, seems you can’t really see the buttons or light indicators
Maybe there´s a gift - headlamp :)
Not Serato compatible?
Serato Lite compatibility is coming soon
How big of a hard drive can it handle?
2tb SD card is max, taken from the specifications in the actual manual
Plus, the guy’s at 12 inch Skinz are gonna hook us up with color’s and different schemes. 🙏👍👌✌️
If I can load a Spotify track from my phone to it, I am definitely getting this for cocktail hours.
I’ll just make Spotify lists, grab the Bluetooth speaker and go.

@Nick, how about a demo?
might have to buy 2 of these for my daughters to jam with me while i play on the cdj3000 and djm a9
baby shark incoming
Can play anything off your phone and be manipulated….does that mean Apple Music or Spotify?
just saw it live at the NAMMM show today in anaheim. The controls and feel is definitely smooth and screen is a pretty nice decent size. My only complaint of course .... is the price. But for portability, in this industry you have to pay to play. I must say, this is next on my list i wouldve gotten the PRIME GO but the KNOB layout on it is not traditional.
Great Review Nick!
I like it. I personally wouldn’t use it. But that pulling audio from TH-cam or any source is ground breaking
I beg to differ, TH-cam audio is compressed crap, now you are steaming it via BT via😂😂😂😂 oh man...
Good morning Brother Nick.. Almost Friday.. Wooooop woop..... You did a video on Quick Mixing a while ago. i asked you if you knew who actually started quick mixing?? Wow you was right on predicting the future
Maybe the next two updates
throw down the gauntlet!!!!! Im curious how Denon will react with next firmware update:)
Bro you thank🙏🙏❤
.....but there's no way of changing the key of a track up or down from the decks. WHAT?!?!
$1,499 it’s pricey 🤔 Nick it has a nice touch screen 👍🏿
For the price of a flx10? Idk who this is marketed for. A flx4 + a laptop is still more portable.
And maybe cheaper with a MacBook Air
Flx4 with an ipad mini running djay even better.
yeah deff pricey
I agree it does look like a Fisher price toy . Looks basic the Matt finish is a nice touch I think . The platters would of been nice with screens
My DJM S7 has a BT input…
For $1000 I would get it for sure 👍.
Damn you got an s95b that’s a 🔥🔥🔥tv dj nick
$1500 is way to much , especially I can't use my Serato. but it's great backup should your computer crash or as you said a guest want you to play a song
I think connecting to serato is pointless, you wont gain anything, there are no pad modes, so it will only do the same with a controller plugged in. If you remapped all the hot cues to 8 pad stems, thats all you got.
Better of using a iPad as a backup this thing is way too much
Great, now that random uncle saying "can't you just pull up youtube on your computer?" will be right hahahahaha
That thing is very overpriced. The denon prime go is a better buy right now.
There is NO WAY this thing should cost more than $999
In Australia the price is BS.....$3,419
No links? Am I supposed to actually search like some sort of non-lazy person??
Top video Nick!
- one of the best dj - youtubers on the platform!
Alpha Theta went Matte for their cheap paint job 💯
Little steep for a toy.. Will definitely check it out at NAMN

But then you got the Numark Mixstream pro for cheaper 😎😎 and you can already use any music stream services with it. Just saying 😅
2:26 usb stick is in wrong place it will brake easily
At this price range booth output should not be rca should be at least 1/4inch jack

I'm just so anchored to a laptop anymore 😅
