Correct. But in all fairness, when you say «beats out hyper cars and exotics», you should add «in a dragrace». Because those hypercars are usually all about either top speed or handling. And in those disciplines, the Tesla X Plaid is not very good (not the S either, for that matter).

I actually rode in this exact car from the video. It’s my neighbor’s car. I thought I was going to puke it went so fast. Lol.
Imagine you're cruising on your Ferrari 812 then a SUV with a whole family inside keeps up with you the moment you floor it.
...and then soon leaving highway for a supercharger as 150mph high speed run takes a tool on the EVs battery. Realistically both of these are too fast for any public road and not much more fun as Mod 3p. Which on it's own is plenty fast (if also not too fast for public roads). Anyways thumbs up to Tesla for democritising the performance.

@@TML34 I agree with much of that, but issues with the panel gaps are far more common to the industry to this very day then people seem to think and touchscreens are in literally everything. And yes, the transition to EVs regardless of manufacturer is a step towards lessening our impact on the planet. Yes EVs currently have a greater impact at creation, and I say currently because cell chemistry and composition is changing, but studies consistently show they have much less impact over the lifetime of the vehicle. It’s impossible to create anything that has no impact, the goal is reducing impact.
A combustion engine car will always pollute every single time it is in use and has an entire energy chain from the extraction of oil to the burning of gas in your car that’s cut out with EVs. The energy grid can (and is in) transition, and even if you were using coal it is still less of an impact to drive an EV than a combustion powered car when in use. Rare earth metals are misnamed, they’re not as uncommon as you think, and they are being slowly eliminated in batteries. EVs are not perfect, but they are a better solution for transportation needs than the combustion engine vehicle. Hydrogen has its challenges that prevent it from being a viable alternative, and it is not actually a green fuel because of the way it is extracted.
@@TerryTerius I accept the need for EV’s for the obvious reasons, and I enjoy Brooks showcasing the Teslas! Sometimes the Teslaroti is a bit too much for me. And I’m still waiting for the battery tech to move from lithium ion to a more sustainable solution.

If you'd have told me 10 years ago that in 10 years time there'd be an American SUV from the factory running comfortably in the 9's, I'd have thought you were completely full of shit. How much quicker/faster will they get? That's my question. That thing is already capable of t-bagging supercars, balls in face. Yes, in a straight line.
Expect the next roadster with space X package cold thrusters to have increased forward acceleration, braking and turning. It should be much faster in every way
Each of the plaid motors can output 400hp in their current config, and Elon said they can be made to spin faster in the future. Right now the plaid motors are limited to 340hp (x3). In a future quad motor config with new batteries, we will see minimum 1600hp, and there's no reason they couldn't shove this new drivetrain into basically anything. Even without roadster SpaceX, certain Teslas will be into the 8 second range, and I don't see how 7s are impossible either with roadster.
I have both Plaid S and X
I like the X a bit better because you sit up much higher and you never have to worry about ground clearance. No worries about curbs and bottoming out on dips and that kind of thing.
The full windshield back behind your head on the X is annoying and the visors are small and inferior to the S. The Falcon wing doors on the X are super trick.
Like the model S the X has a very solid feel and it's FAST!
Full Self Driving is a hoot! FSD is like letting a teenage brain drive your car while you are at the controls. You have to watch it like a hawk. It's going to make some mistakes and drive badly sometimes. Using FSD is more stressful than just driving yourself. But it is quite entertaining and informative. You get to see the future coming!

I sold my 2021 S refresh for an X Plaid. I prefer the X for the same reasons, ground clearance, better view, and trick doors. Also, the X has better taillights. The doors take some learning though.

The model X has more space than the model S and has the same feature and suspension damping so it can handle well, yet it still has very similar performance.

My favorite thing about the Model X is it's the car that takes astronauts out to the launch pad when they're launching on the SpaceX Dragon on Falcon 9. So cool that one man's companies built the spacecraft, the rocket - including every engine and thruster - and the spacesuits, *and* the car. All in matching black and white, of course.

Performance is unique as an electric car. This would be the best buy for Germany with the acceleration and top speed of this car. And of course superb tesla supercharging network. Easily the best car for stress free traveling.

Personally, I think that Porsche has to do it and don’t care about brand hierarchy. Porsche is more mass production and have all the models (Panamera, Taycan, Cayenne, Macan) ready to go.

@@turbocorvette8500 a sub 10 second ICE car has far more mods in it that make it difficult to be a daily driver. I grew up a tuner head, that's just the reality of it all. They are fun cars, if you can reliably mod them to be consistent, but everyone knew that that wasn't your daily driver. And, no matter what, on regular roads the EV would beat them every time. You can't beat the instantaneous torque. Pull up to a red light, or just cruising on the highway, you do a countdown and these crazy EVs will win every time. I'm just being real.

I own a model X because it’s the safest SUV in the world. I bought it new as a 2017 and it has over 50,000 miles and has never been to a service center. Only maintenance are tires. I have solar panels so I save $500 a month on home electricity and gas. No oil filters in landfills. It is fast enough I don’t need a plaid version

@@bobqzzi yes it is, a battery has a C rating, this means how fast its discharging, lithium ion batteries in a tesla arent pushed past 7.5 C, reducing the battery size of the model 3 by 40% would definitly drop power, model 3 with 75kwh battery does 5C. So a model 3 with plaid motors and upgraded cooling would do 750HP, a plaid with a 120kwh battery would do ~1224HP.

Durango Hellcat at 710hp, TrackHawk at 707hp and Aston Martin has the stones to pull that with 707 PS (697hp).
PS is horsepower (hp) in German, so it's 707hp in the Aston but yeah not the most powerful SUV.
I want to see a new Tesla Roadster, I do not really care much about a S or X Plaid even if it has with 1000+HP.. Those make you wonder though, what room is left performance-wise for sportscars if a big heavy SUV already does these insane numbers?!? It kinda ruins the whole thing..
Sports cars are like for their handling and track capabilities, a 1000HP 5400lb car cant beat a 500HP 2700lb car on a track. This kills drag racing more than anything.
