Man the reason by wither storm is following you is that when wither storm gets stage 4 he is focused on you and before he will not die, he will no stop following you (if you use command : /witherstormmod distract set @e[type=witherstormmod:wither_storm,limit=1]. Wither storm will stop following you)
I think that amulet should be used to tell you were any structure is since in story mode the Gabriel said the amulet will guide you so it makes sense for it to do that.
