Agree, I had the 900 Daytona in yellow. Looked great, built like a tank and weighed roughly the same! But that 900 engine with carbs is one of my favourites.
@@rustynuts82 I rode a black 900 Triple. On cold mornings, I couldn't start the engine without performing the ritual of opening the throttle several times. It was heavy, but once I got going, it had no quirks and was one of my favorite motorcycles.
Even today that is still a lovely looking bike. I had the Daytona 1000/ 4 cyl , a J-reg , 1991 i think, a big heavy beast of a bike but it could shift.
I've just bought a '92 Trophy 900 in the Caribbean Blue paint scheme. These early Hinckley bikes have now passed 30 years old. They look and feel dated, but in a good way. Big, muscular, fast and characterful. Built like a brick shxthouse, the T300 range is a revelation, the first Triumph to be truly modern and a worthy competitor to the Japanese machines of the time. No nostalgic look back to the Meriden days except in the model names. These bikes are very cheap on the market, soon there won't be many left, which is a shame as they are a very important milestone in the revival of the British bike industry.
I love it
I had this machine
Sound was beautiful like roar
but ,too heavy

Yep, grab one while you can. I had a Daytona 900 in yellow for a while….brilliant engine, but just soooo big and heavy. As you say, built like a JCB!
Only by the early ones or have a job changing the sprague don't get me started on the wet liners
I had a 94 Daytona for a while, great bike. Superb engine and a nicely built bike, just too big and heavy!
Way cool.
A Triumph! not a Thairumph
At least an early Hinckley is British built!
