I was impressed with Jacobsen on the U18 team. I feel like past Purdue bigs have struggled at USA events because they are so guard-dominant, but he was still impactful.

Lots of good updates and projections. Very professional.

Ziegler caught the ball after Fletch threw it in the air.

So Purdue could go with a 6'8" center with TKR. Does that sound good? Does anyone believe he can guard a 7+ foot center for 30 minutes? In my opinion that could work out for a short time but him playing 30+ minutes a game and having to do that is not ideal at all. TKR at the 4 with another 7+ foot big man down low? That sounds a LOT better and a winning combination. So I see the Smith (1), Loyer or Colvin (2), Heide (3), TKR (4) and some 7+ foot center and that will probably be Jacobsen with Berge filling in a lot of minutes there as well because Jacobsen will get in foul trouble.

I'd imagine Purdue will go with what.... Painter feels is best?

    Loved this kind of breakdown.
I know it’s a lot of work, but some clips could be a nice addition. Not necessary though.

Because of our post game style shows that’s been a consistent decision on this channel not to include clips we didn’t personally take to not run into copyright issues as Braggs got nicked on that early on this channel. Joe does have extensive clips on each player elsewhere. We’ll link those in chat next time.

@@kraigbowers34 Yup, I love Joe’s breakdowns. And your logic makes sense, I was curious about why clips never made it into the show, and now I know! I guess I’ll have to put my dream of Joe using a telestrator during the post-game on hold

@@PurdueFansAnon you reminded me however that I do have some summer workout clips I took myself and may have opportunity to get more, so, might see a few clips in next one.

@@kraigbowers34 One clip I’d LOVE to see is for Painter to give one of his super in depth answers for why he doesn’t think Heide should see big minutes at the 4.
Cam is a legit 6’7” with crazy athleticism. I know he’d give up some weight, but Purdue already doubles in the post and I think Cam’s hops allow him to provide more rebounding and rim protection than other guys his size.
It would help spacing, let the team run more in transition, and it would let them run a more switch-heavy scheme on defense.
I suspect Paint doesn’t want to switch that much, but I think it would be worth considering with TKR and our guards. I know Smith and Loyer would be easy to post up, but their screen navigation also left a lot to be desired last year, so putting them in the post and sending help might not be much worse.

@@PurdueFansAnon when they run “small ball” with pairing of 2 of TKR, Furst, Burgess, Waddell, they’re already going to “Red” or high hedge everything and do more switching, which they also did in limited minutes Zach wasn’t on the floor. My bet would be that the worry of lack of rim protection (Purdue was not good in that area with Zach off the floor) concerns him. But I can certainly ask a question about Heide as it pertains to the 3/4 spot that might illicit a more in depth response at a later practice.
