I have been a church singer and musician for 68 years. This song says it all. God's grace has brought my husband and I through Breast, Bowel and Prostate Ca, Atriall Fibrillation, An Aortic Aneurysm, Pulmonary Hypertension and Hyperthyroidism . I am 82. He is 85. The wonder of it all

This brings back memories of my teenage years when we actually had a congregation that could sing all the parts. It was thrilling! Thank you.

Amen! We don't sing the wonderful multi-part hymns anymore as the younger people don't know those parts. 'O for a thousand tongues'...absolutely soul-stirring, but seldom sung properly these days by an average congregation.
As a bass I can't sing with the "new" stuff. I miss four part harmony.

Reformed churches still sing hymns. Mine does, although we also sing some contemporary ones.
My father in law sang in a barbershop quartet. Every year his concert just happened to be around my birthday. Hey passed away in 2015. I really miss hearing this style of music. I am in awe that all parts are done by you! The Lord has truly given you incredible talent. Thank you for using it for good.

Wow! I was thinking that was a G at first. We use Praise for the Lord and it has it pitched at a C. That's insane and impressive! Well done! I'm not even sure I'd have enough confidence to do that. Definitely not enough to go full voice haha. But I also have more vocal issues that affect my confidence sometimes. Great job!
My limitations are that my musical talent are basically I can sing on key, I don't have a gifted voice but it won't make anyone cover their ears. The only public singing I've ever done was to daycare kids!

THANK YOU! MY MY THANK YOU! Takes me back to the 70s learning to sing the bass line next to my dad. This has ALWAYS been my favorite hymn. We had hymn nights the last Sunday of the month and I would ALWAYS have my hand up for page 449. My mom played the piano and always had a paper clip on that page. Good times... The song will be better sung in Heaven, but you just made my day.

This was the ABSOLUTE FAVORITE hymn at church camp growing up. Every single year this was the favorite. We sang it in almost every chapel period. All the kids had the page number memorized.

We sing hymns at our church and I love when we as a congregation can sing this hymn! It will never grow old hearing the multiple part harmony in person! You sing it so reverently and God-honoring! So thankful you can use your voice to praise the Lord!
Now THAT'S how you do that song!! I have waited 40+ years to hear that song RIGHT! When I went to Bible college in 73, I first heard that song in chapel. A 1000+ student body singing it with gusto and harmony!

A memory from my youth at a UKRAINIAN Bible camp. Brought tears...
A fabulous song we often sand at Johnson Bible College (now Johnson University) tremendous when being sung by a couple hundred young students! Still gives me the chills. One of my greatest memories from college days!
I know a lot of churches don't have hymnals any more, but they're missing out on these great songs and harmonies. I have exacting standards for hymnals, though: they have to include "Wonderful Grace of Jesus" and "And Can It Be". There are other well-loved hymns, of course, but I figure that if those two songs are in the book, the others probably will be too.
I still have an old hymnal or 2 at home and get them out to just read the words.
Yes, I know. It was a sad day for me to see churches throwing out the hymnals or giving them away. Times have changed and we must move on. However, since I was brought up in them, I still miss the old hymns; they speak to me differently. Good to hear this song again, sung in parts, just as in the old days in church.

Back when I first met my Brazilian wife , I was taught this song to sing with her choir in Portuguese. Didn’t know exactly what I was singing back then but the harmonies and rhythms were so much fun. Thank!

Wonderful! Sometimes I just enjoy spending a Sabbath afternoon listing to Acapeldridge playlists. These hymns reminds me of when I was a girl (decades ago), listening to hymns being sung by some of the old quartets back in the day, on my grandparent's 'hifi'. Gosh I haven't thought of hi-fi in decades! I remember when my dad bought a console stereo, something we kids had never heard of or seen! We oooed and ahhhed over it!

The theological soundness of hymnody will never be surpassed by the syrup of modern "light-rock" Christian radio music. What the world needs more than anything is a church willing to be what it is, rather than to bend with every new wind of so called "relevance" that blows through society.

Loved singing this in our teen choir many years ago! I do so miss the great congregational singing in my evangelical upbringing. Worship and praise ditties just can't match this stuff! A whole church and four part harmony!!

This was always one of my favorite hymns growing up, cuz its so peppy! I went to a Mennonite high school and on days when we would have hymn sings, this song (and a few others) was "banned" from being requested, not because anyone was against it, but because it would ALWAYS get requested and they wanted us to exercise other songs in the hynmal 😂
