Robin wanted to boss everyone else around. Christine was all in, very supportive, Janelle said from the beginning that it was not her passion and did not thing they’d make any $$ on it.
I was hoping to see a reaction to Robyn’s purity speech. She was talking about her three older kid’s dad and basically saying he coerced her into sex and she wished she had saved herself for Koty. The look on her oldest son’s face was priceless.

By the way, how Robyn guilted Meri into not going to college so she could stay at home and get pregnant again while the OG three wives did the work for a company they didn't want to begin with was so cruel.
I wish Meri had gone back to school like she wanted. I think that would have been a good thing for her. It makes me sad she put herself last and then was not really rewarded for her sacrifice.
You’re making good progress, Dr. Honda! I’m excited for you to catch up. The current discourse around sister wives will benefit greatly from your perspective
@5:00 My mom wasn't the best at s3x ed but, to this day, I'm so grateful for what she told me about intimacy- don't be crazy to marry someone without, at least, "testing" the physical stuff. I'm not going to tell you what to do and what not to do, but it should feel like joyful togetherness. Like staying up together until 4am to watch the last episode of your favourite series. Like your favourite bakery that you always stop at to get treats for eachother. It should feel like baking your own new recipe for cookies when that bakery ends up shutting down. Sometimes it's easy, sometimes it's a bit harder and it takes some work. But it should always be fun.
I’d be curious to hear your thoughts on the “Sobbin’ Robyn” thing. I’ve always wondered why she constantly gets that tearful affect…. Like, what is that?!
If I were Robyn’s therapist I would ask her why can’t she ever talk without crying?? The constant crying just irritates me because it feels so insincere at this point.
I think family mission statements can be incredibly impactful for a lot of families. It does take a level of investment and synchronization from the family to achieve. So it’s not for everyone. But it can be really good to clarify what families hope to accomplish.
Why can't Meri try school AND the business until such time as the two actually come into conflict? At this point, everything is theoretical. Meri doesn't know how far in the future her school will actually start and how much of her day it will take up. And unless and until Robin is putting her sweat into the business day in and day out, methinks she has no standing to wag her finger at anyone else for not being committed enough.
It makes me sad when they're introduced as the "Cody Brown Family" because it's just another example of how the sister wives are viewed as extensions of Cody and not really their own individual people. Also, their way of looking at sex seems extremely harmful to me. I grew up around a lot of conservative christians (evangelicals) who believed sex was something that a man did to a woman and women were not active participants. Which there are so many things wrong with that, but one I really remember is that if you're a woman and you have a sex drive at all you were heavily shamed, because that was seen as something only for men. I was even told women only agree to sex to get men to give them attention. It was super messed up, so I have a lot of sympathy for what those kids are going through.
I also grew up in a church like this. They don’t believe in any birth control, and their views around sex and sexuality were just ridiculous. They kind of sold the view that all boys and men are just dirty and sex-crazed, and it’s something women only participate in because they’re pressured into it or they’re married and they owe it to their husbands. They completely ignored that women also have sexual feelings and desires, and they also taught that men couldn’t control themselves so women had to cover themselves all up. They taught abstinence only, no conversations about safe sex or STI’s or anything. I was shocked that by 25, the church that I grew up in had a SEVENTY FIVE PERCENT rate of teen pregnancies and single motherhood.
Dr. H, write down a note about the personality test that was taken and the mission statement. In the future, comparing and contrasting this info with the current situation would be interesting.
Why? He overlooks it. Just like he overlooked who was supposed to be looking after truly. He overlooked Robyn telling Maddie she was kicked out of the family if she didn't do the mission statement. He overlooked Robyn. Kissing Kody when Christine was literally in labor and waiting for him. He's over looking alot of Robyn and kodys crap behavior. I can't figure out if he's doing it cause he likes them. Or if he knows ppl hate them so he's trying to not join the band wagon
I just realized..Robyn saying "what do I do now" is more about the $$$ she needed the other women to support the business financially...bc how is she funding this venture she has no funds outside of everyone else money. How greedy is that ..how selfish is it to not want someone to achieve their goals cuz only your goals matter
What difference do you think it would make in his response? People can still be sexually abused by a spouse. And given her religious background, I’m not surprised that she still ended up marrying him (especially since she got pregnant)
@michellestreeter0514 💯 Robyn was no victim. She stole her sisters boyfriend, married him and when she spent all his money and he left her she cried victim. What she is doing is very damaging to real victims.
Dr. Honda - Pretty sure it was this episode, but not positive, when the parents were having all of the kids practice for this event and were told they were to sign the family mission statement. I rewatched that scene recently and was surprised to notice Robyn’s response to Madison asking, “What if we don’t want to sign it?” Robyn’s response, which was not obvious, was something like, “Then you can leave.” Did you notice that, Dr. Honda?
It was Robyn’s ongoing expectations that the other family members adopt Robyn’s dream business that really made me question her (plus the fact that the other parents had always been more open to their kids going their own way religiously where Robyn outspokenly wanted to change that early culture and control them more). Christine and Janelle clearly wanted to get real estate licenses and were excited about that but Robyn couldn’t see that. We don’t have access to all of their conversations but it has seemed apparent to me that everyone has been straightforward with her that the Sister Wives’ Closet partnership idea did not align with their goals and needs and was not at all interesting for them. It seems self-centered to me the way she ignores their wishes and thus their own needs for happiness and what they believe in for themselves and their skills/talents. I’m bummed you didn’t finish this scene bc if I remember right, didn’t Robyn tell Meri she was worried about Meri’s ability to stay faithful to the marriage and family if she went to school? I find that so manipulative.
I’m all for objectivity, but we cannot seriously be giving Robyn so much slack as to assume she said something nice/balanced that just got edited out. 😂 If anything, they give her the most generous edit.
Not to defend Robyn, mostly because she doesn't need it lol, but it is kinda funny to hear meri defending her decision to not help Robyn as "I don't want to do a retail/jewlry thing" and then she goes on and does a HUGE retail business via an MLM 😂 but it's also funny that meri was able to be hugely successful doing it alone and Robyn couldn't figure it out. Robyn, you needed an MLM to take advantage of your stay-at-home followers, desperate for income, to be your downline!
@@selfcarewithstephanie3519 you're right. AND she'd be more qualified to call herself a life coach that could charge people hundreds of dollars for a seminar. 😂
Sometimes in a relationship you have to accept that your dream is just that - *your* dream. You need to release other people from being responsible for making your dream come true. They can love and support you, and that’s good enough.
Regarding how Robyn frames sex - it sounds like it was not a wholly consensual encounter if she describes it as "letting him do something to her." It seems like that is indicating another party not respecting boundaries. Sexual assault is all too common, especially in religious communities that are patriarchal. There is a direct tie with conformity to gender roles and sexual assault. I don't think violating a woman's sexual boundaries should be reduced to "teenaged humanness." Begging for sex is a form of sexual coercion.
Re: Mary & Education. It is so disappointing that Mary did not pursue the college education. She would have learned so much about child development & behavior, that she could have shared with the family. She would likely learned more about herself & her behavior in the process. I know that part of the breakdown with Christine was her (Christine's) disapproval of Mary's "harsh" treatment of her children. Also, Mary would have likely done well in a structured school setting. I do recall that at start of show, Mary was working at a youth at-risk facility, but once the show started airing, she was let go from her job. Dr Honda has pointed out Mary's need to please others.... So that may be insight into why she went with Robin in the end. Overall disappointing/confusing as a viewer, since they preached how open their group was. In general these groups discourage college for their children. Evidently unusual for them to go. Outside influences & knowledge being seen as a threat? Also, Robin depended a lot on Mary as the "organized one".
I think you can figure out Mary's motivation if you change "need to please others" to "need to please Kody". Mary was never going to college not because they are against college but because Kody wanted her to make Robyn happy & he was never going agree to pay the money for her to go to college.
If Meri has historically had problems getting along with Christine and Janelle, then it makes much more sense to me now that she encouraged Kody to pursue Robyn when they met her.
@@tundeterez it could mean anything. drugs use, behavior problems, whatever the parents decide is unacceptable. Those programs are not very well regulated and have recently come under fire for child abuse. It is not confirmed though that she did work in one of those places.
Well, poor Meri had to deal with her husband marrying her ex sister in law. Janelles was married to Meri’s brother. How did she even deal with that??!!
Robyn again being a good friend to Meri. How dare Meri do something for herself. She wouldn’t behave like that if it were Janelle telling her she wanted to go back to school.
Can’t wait until Dr. Honda gets to the Meri drama and explains “Sam” to us. That was one of the best reality show dramas in history. Definitely the best in Sister Wives history.
Having grown up in an area with a lot of evangelicals, having been a member of a couple of those churches, abundance is a popular wird in the Bible. Abundance can be applied to an abindance of many things: talents, skills, friends, material poseesions, health., just about anything you want.
@feitme lol...good point but with the context of verses, everyone takes in as an abundance of what they saw as positive. Wish I had thought of your approach years ago when I knew some many evangelicals.
I have strong opinions as a Christian about other Christian women choosing to have sex because they want to, feeling religious guilt about it, and then acting as if they were coerced into it. I know that that is some people’s experience, but I also knew a bunch of girls growing up that wanted to have sex but then didn’t like the consequences of loss of social standing/STDs/pregnancies/etc. it’s not sexual assault just because you feel guilty or shame later. That’s not fair to the boys.
Robyn’s purity speech you are referencing is cropped from the original release. In the original episode, she makes it sound like she was SA’d and that her oldest child is the product of it.
Just to be fair, when Robyn was speaking of premarital sex, she was only speaking of the girls. She has said that they have to watch what they wear or else they give boys the wrong message. That’s all on the girls.
Robyn showing how selfish she is I'm not sure what Meri wanted to go back to school for (if it was discussed then I missed it) but it could have been benefitical for their business (if Robyn really needed it to benefit herself). Plus, in theory she can do both school and business for now. Robyn just really sucks Also, I'm glad I watched this video, hearing Neverland briefly play reminded how much I really liked that song 😂😅
I think Robyn didn't want Meri to have a legitimate increase in household expenses - thereby contributing less to the "family" pot. Also, Meri achieving a higher education than Robyn would threaten Robyn's worth and status.
Here’s my question . If a man your courting “ forces” you to have se… and it’s traumatic than why go on to stay married to him for 7-8 years ( to which he left her. She wouldn’t stop spending and his family already paid the debt once so he could buy a house) and that’s why he made her take the debt. It was her debt. She bought a lot of Victorias Secret again. So why go on in an abus… marraige and wear all that Victorias Secret and have 2 more children with the very man she says hurt her?? Yet there is also no reference in the divorce of Abu. She blackmailed this guy into the adoption. This is a lying woman. I don’t know any trauma survivors who go on to have more children with the man who r’d them if it happened the way they actually said. Just my opinion.
Yes! I do not understand why no dots are being connected at this point. I feel like he isn't really paying attention? The credit debt was covered when buying the houses, he presumably saw that. I'm not sure he'll ever really get it.
It is sickening how Robyn focused on Meri and manipulated her for so long which she wasn’t able to do with Christine and Janelle because they both saw right through Robyn and so she wasn’t able to get a foothold on either of them like she did Meri Robyn is so devious!
It’s striking how many faiths say they are doing the right thing and are good. Bu5 they don’t give back. U don’t see them picking up trash on the side of the road or organizing a blood drive .their “ good” is always centered around weird sex rules and supression and intolerance. So God hates sex ,hates women, hates hates hates hates but loves money and possessions and too many children and long hair not doing a honest days work? 😳 Their God sounds horrible
@@Spinsterwife you are wrong . If a faith says u can’t get to heaven with out being married but doesn’t encourage good deeds , giving back, that’s not a generalization that’s a fact. @donnalantz4222 I am religious and I agree with the OP. There are thousands of religions in this country and many are just as they described. I've had friends in these end up becoming atheist after being in them for so long.
Robyn slept with her sisters boyfriend and got pregnant and ended up marrying him and having 2 more children. This nonsense that she was taken advantage of is ridiculous and really undermines the people who have dealt with actual sexual assault.
Robyn never said she had premarital sex. Which makes that odd speech even more bizarre. She also had no trouble in Kody spending the night before the wedding. With small children to see it. A man having sex with her for her first time, one where it might have happened after the wedding, is not crime or immoral act.
I hated this. Meri was trying to move beyond this horrible situation and Robyn manipulated both Kody and Meri to stay in. This is a tipping point, or a folk in the road. She chose the wrong fork.
Wow, you can see the importance “The Kody Brown Family” places on education. To reply with anything other than positive support when an adult says they want to go back to college is Wild! And wildly ignorant
Is there psychology behind being the group project leader and then being disappointed by everyone else for not putting in the same effort? Ive been that person my whole life where i feel like I have to volunteer and lead a project but then resent everyone for not caring.

They don’t actually say in the show that he was with Kody. They actually made it sound like Dayton was with someone else. So I don’t think Dr. Honda is going to realize Kody was even there.
Supervision would have prevented that particular accident as he ran into a barbwire fence with no helmet and no one around. Hunter I believe found him. The show made it sound like it happened when he was with his dad. We just now found out Kody was responsible. I don't think this is a spoiler because in the timeline Dr Kirk is in I think it's already happened and it was kind of glossed over by the show so I doubt he covered it.
@@tmtb80I don't think it's coming up. It happened in this timeline. We just now found out the circumstances through the media. I can understand why Dr Kirk would skip it as the show glossed over it.
Regardless, the business was basically dead at that time. She didn't need Meri. She just didn't want Meri to get the independence a degree would provide.
Okay, I was trying to figure out what sometimes irritates me about the commentary, and I figured it out. Respectfully, I feel as if you base your experiences and opinion on things as if it should be the ones we're watching. I realize to a degree we all do so, and that some things should be like completely black and white (ex: abuse is wrong, harming a child is wrong, etc.). And maybe it's not happening all the time. Maybe when I just feel like that way, because you break off into personal stories so much andyou'ree not generally focused on just the content? Im working it out. I just dont always think everyone's experience is everyones experience, opinions, or intentions. It's possible for someone to have selfish motives even if you yourself wouldn't be selfish in that situation. I dont know if this makes sense. Maybe be open to go down the paths of possibilities that maybe be different from your own.
You make an excellent point. I think he personally relates to how Robyn or Kody "present" more than, say, Christine, and therefore assumes his good intentions and relatable motives for them and is misunderstanding so much as a result.
IMO, nothing wrong with wealth or striving for financial stability. I don't work hard every day just to live paycheck to paycheck. I was brought up by 2 blue-collar parents, who worked hard, saved, and invested money in order to build wealth.
Prosperity gospel has absolutely nothing to do with work ethic. Also, plural families are enormous as are the costs associated. It's rather vital that they have some material wealth because it's objectively more expensive to have tons of kids.
They are older episodes that dr Honda is watching before he gets to the current season. And he doesn't want spoilers so it doesn't influence his analysis, so could you please delete your comment? Thank you.
I agree... Robin was so dramatic & extreme. I'd like to hear more of Dr Honda's view. So sad to see a woman filled with such angst & regret. Yet it brought the 3 most prescious children into her life. (I have heard that LDS equate sex as a sin equal to murder. )

Dr. Honda doesn’t know that the boy Robyn slept with is… her first husband, does he?
What difference do you think it would make in his response? People can still be sexually abused by a spouse. And given her religious background, I’m not surprised that she still ended up marrying him (especially since she got pregnant)
@@HarrietteAirhartshe went after him. Her sister Fawn was dating him.
@@michellestreeter0514what😮
@michellestreeter0514 💯 Robyn was no victim. She stole her sisters boyfriend, married him and when she spent all his money and he left her she cried victim. What she is doing is very damaging to real victims.
@@selfcarewithstephanie3519 yup she sure did.
I also feel like abundance means abundance of wives and children. Very Duggar vibes
There is an ex polygamist and she was saying that ALOT of the push for “abundance” of wives and children is to populate the ⚪️ race. 😐
Well she did succeed in Meri giving up her school dream.
With Robin it is all about her. She actually does not care about the other wives.
Dr. Honda - Pretty sure it was this episode, but not positive, when the parents were having all of the kids practice for this event and were told they were to sign the family mission statement. I rewatched that scene recently and was surprised to notice Robyn’s response to Madison asking, “What if we don’t want to sign it?” Robyn’s response, which was not obvious, was something like, “Then you can leave.”
Did you notice that, Dr.
Yes she did
Robyn envisioned having a jewlery empire
Robber would be the CEO but without the work
I’m all for objectivity, but we cannot seriously be giving Robyn so much slack as to assume she said something nice/balanced that just got edited out. 😂
If anything, they give her the most generous edit.
But if Meri had been able to finish school she may have never gotten involved in the MLM garbage.
@@selfcarewithstephanie3519 you're right. AND she'd be more qualified to call herself a life coach that could charge people hundreds of dollars for a seminar. 😂
@@msmendes214 that life coach thing is so cringe 😬
I thought this too! Like her way to get even. Sabotage
It’s all about what Robyn wants. Mary caves to her 😢.
13:32 it has been rumored Meri used to work at a wilderness camp for at risk youth in Utah
What is that? At risk for what?
Oh no. I almost gave up on the show during that period.... From where he is at, I think he's about to hit it.
Having grown up in an area with a lot of evangelicals, having been a member of a couple of those churches, abundance is a popular wird in the Bible. Abundance can be applied to an abindance of many things: talents, skills, friends, material poseesions, health., just about anything you want.
An abundance of trials, failings, poverty, enemies...
Robyn showing how selfish she is
I'm not sure what Meri wanted to go back to school for (if it was discussed then I missed it) but it could have been benefitical for their business (if Robyn really needed it to benefit herself). Plus, in theory she can do both school and business for now. Robyn just really sucks
Also, I'm glad I watched this video, hearing Neverland briefly play reminded how much I really liked that song 😂😅
Robyn is doing a huge disservice to actual victims. She was mad he left her and doing everything she can to smear his reputation.
This is an uninformed generalization
@@Spinsterwife you are wrong . If a faith says u can’t get to heaven with out being married but doesn’t encourage good deeds , giving back, that’s not a generalization that’s a fact. Yards full of pure trash. It’s full of dumped dogs and cats it’s full of scared kids who get whipped cause that’s what that preacher said on Sunday. It’s full of rotted teeth and bs homeschooling. @donnalantz4222 I am religious and I agree with the OP. There are thousands of religions in this country and many are just as they described. I've had friends in these end up becoming atheist after being in them for so long.
If I recall correctly, Robyn talked Meri out of going back to college which was very important to Meri 😢
Wow the catch of “abundance”…..
It's funny how their stories change 39:48 lol
When Dr Honda gets to the end I'd be curious to hear what he thinks about how rabid the fans are in their hatred of Robin and Mykelti.
The Mykelti hate seems to be dying down.
Seems like Robyn is the newest but is already grabbing the majority of the power among the wives
My sister wives closet website seems to be selling again. There is a $150 bracelet for “suicide awareness “ which…kinda feels wrong to me.. kind of feels like they’re trying to benefit off of Garrison’s suicide..😢
Seriously!!!!!! 🤬🤬🤬🤬Cash grabbing on a loved ones death. No wonder she's no longer supported by the 1 kid who took a ton of flack for taking up for her.
why did religions focus on sex so much? Why not shame another dopamine release? Like eating!
Wait until you find out about the ATV accident that Robyn’s oldest had….. WHILE Kody was supposed to be watching him.
"Wait until you find out about....." is spoiling the whole point of this. When you finish that sentence, you have just told the information. In essence, we have already found out the gist of what is coming up because you have just told us.
How would Kody watching him have prevented an accident?
She married the boy and went on to have two more kids.
Okay you skipped the part where Robyn threatened to throw Maddie out if she didn't read the mission statement. Is that not telling?
So not fair to Robyn. Does Meri expect her to do all the pluses and minuses by herself?
😂
Loss of control
And Meri’s school I believe would’ve been night classes.
Regardless, the business was basically dead at that time. She didn't need Meri. She just didn't want Meri to get the independence a degree would provide.
Sooooo glad hes not showing that 'robyn scene' i can not watch it, its ssssooooo cringe i can not 🤣
Apparently heaven is a gentleman’s club. You need a male escort to go in
Okay, I was trying to figure out what sometimes irritates me about the commentary, and I figured it out.
Yes, you summed it up perfectly. I was worried I would be misunderstood. @@jenopolis9227
Idk, if the sex with Robyn was non consensual, it must of been non consensual three times lol
Prior to the show, this family was piss poor, so...
Fake Robin. She and k split this family. Shame on you both. Your lies finally caught up with you both.
This whole video is one big 👃🏼👈🏼
Are these current episodes? I thought they separated
(I have heard that LDS equate sex as a sin equal to murder. )
