Sonic frontiers was the game the franchise needed, to reastablish itself as what it once was, finally, the story matters, the characters matter, the music goes hard, in a day an age where tons of franchises came back to what made them special in the first place or just doubled down on what made them great, it's really good to see sonic get the same treatment.
Yeah sega Finally decided to break the bubble and try a new concept instead of doing the same thing again and again with new small features, They really needed this
Frontiers feels like it was more of a message in a video game. Message to fans that Sonic Team are still passionate about what they create and are willing to try new things while staying true to the characters and world they've built. And a message to SEGA themselves (Or the investors at SEGA) that new things can be created and Sonic can be successful. Especially since SEGA has weirdly not shown much support to Sonic Team, which resulted in them having a team size of an indie studio. So I hope with the budget increase that Sonic Team will have more freedom and manpower for future titles to experiment, improve and so on.

Seriously, this game's Super Sonic boss battles go so damn hard that its not even funny. Sonic always nails their music but wow, channeling Devil May Cry and MGR Revengeance with Super Saiyan powers is a match made in heaven. If the next mainline Sonic game doesn't go equally as hard, I'm gonna be pissed.
