It’s wonderful to see the return of Chris Evans for the MCU and it’s technically not Captain America or U.S Agent but whoever his role might be for Avengers Doomsday might be a fascinating and interesting.
They kind of hinted at Hydra Cap in Multiverse of Madness. I think if you have him showing up out of the blue in the Brave New World post credit screen as Captain America returns but he’s really working for Dr Doom it would work
It's good that there is mystery here. It's basically free publicity for the film which is what it needs. (not necessarily 'approval' based on speculation) Remember McFeely is writing and he wrote *all* the Captain America films. Remember also that McFeely and the Russo's are the ones who introduced Sam Wilson, and are responsible for the Rogers, Wilson, Bucky Barnes and Peggy Carter story arcs which are collectively *the best* storytelling in the entire MCU. If they can't get all these characters correct, then no one can.
I don't reall care who Chris Evans is playing but what I do know is the fact that his acting career hasn't been the same since he last appeared in a Marvel film. In fact Chris Evans career should be warning to actors taking these of roles, in the age where the movie star no longer exists be prepared to have a limited career success.
I've seen Chris Evans play bad guys in The Grey Man & Knives Out. I don't think he shakes the natural boy-scout image he exudes. I think Disney/Marvel want the biggest audience bang for their buck and having two Captain Americas would definitely elicit an audience cheer.
