❤❤❤ Was intimidated by this pattern when I first saw it. But today I saw a commercial that asks for hats for cancer patients to donate and MJ your patterns are worth it. Thank you for all your hard work, and taking time to give access to the pattern through video, and blog post truly a blessing. 💐🌹🌻
Truthfully 🙋🏽♀️when it comes to patterns like this, I speak only from my experience, with my limits mentally and emotionally, along with perfection and OCD, (MJ's work is absolutely beautiful and flawless in my opinion) I battle with the "Copying" that comes with Autism in girls. So although it is my own doing, I am following Ms. MJ, so if anyone else goes through this your not alone, and if you know someone who is, maybe this can help with being more understanding. We are all out here just crocheting one stitch at a time. ❤❤❤
Loving this pattern. It definitely challenged me. Just a thought...if you were at all able to give time stamps for each step, that would be SO HELPFUL, especially when there's a repeat of several steps in the video, but also needing to go back and watch a round again a few times to make sure I was doing it right. You've labeled them in the video (also helpful, thank you!), but they're hard to see when scrubbing and easy to miss. ...at least for me. You're wildly talented! Thank you! 5:47 - Cable round 1 8:53 - Cable round 2 9:58 - Cable round 3 13:02 - Cable round 4
The hat is absolutely gorgeous! I am obsessed with cable stitches lately! 😍 😊 I cannot get enough! These hats would be perfect for our cold Michigan winters!! 💖 I hope everyone in my family likes them as much as I do, because they are all getting one! 😅😂 Thank you for sharing your talents with us, MJ! Your tutorials are so easy to follow! Absolutely love your content! ❤ I can't wait to see what is next.
This is such a beautiful hat! Thank you for the free pattern. I had some trouble with the instructions for the adult and large adult but with some persistence and the assistance of google, I figured out the pattern. The whole fam damily is getting one for the holidays.
Round 4,😳 it was not easy but it wasn't difficult to the point I wanted to give up. Having anxiety and learning disabilities it makes it very challenging and quick to give up. So having my crochet hero demonstrate us EVERYTHING.
These are so cute! As a beginner (familiar with the basic stitches) is there another pattern you'd recommend practicing cable stitches on before moving to this, or would you recommend jumping right in?
Though you're not addressing me I thought as you've no reply, I'd say try out cable scarf to start off with. I did this n it really helped me get the knack of cable n it gives you confidence. All the best
Does anyone know what i could possibly be doing wrong? I am stuck on the first cable row in the adult pattren. I counted up my last row (row five of the increases) and i appear to have the correct number of stitches but no matter what i cant seem to end on the three esc. Ive tried esc in the next three stitches, ive tried ecs 3 in the same sitich. Ive tried using the posts that the ecs skips over and ive tried just carrying in from the last esc. I just cant figure out what im doing wrong.
I have just completed the hat using the instructions I bought for an adult size and it would fit a 5 year old, not sure where I went wrong has the number of stitches matched the pattern ?? 😢
You could be making that stitch technically in the previous. You have your pole and then the stitch lays over to link to the next think of them like 7s is all one the top being the stitch
I have done cable stitching before. I am confused about the adult pattern, first off I am confused with the 3/3 L. I did as you did for toddler in video, 9 cables, then it saya esc in next three stitches instead of the 1 esc as for toddler, correct? Then I just repeat around, is that correct?
Hi, Just popping in to see if you ever figured this out. I'm stuck on the 1st cable round of the adult pattern. I counted my stitches and that appears to be correct, Ive redone it over ten times but no matter what I don't seem to be ending with a esc. I think somewhere along the line I am esc incorrectly. I put a esc in the next three stitches and it does work. I put three ecs in the same stitch and it still doesn't work. Any tips of what I could be doing wrong?
I am SO confused on the adult cable round 1 also. I've been crocheting since I was 9 years old and I'm 47 now and I've never seen 3/3 L on a pattern before. I wish I could figure this out!!
Hi @Toscalily I was wondering if you've figured this out? My first cable round for adult size doesn't end with the ESC as shown in the pattern. I always end up with a Fptr in the skipped 3 sts. I also do 3 Fpdc and 3 Esc. Thanks.
Hi 👋 This looks beautiful. I’d like to try to make an adult size but I cannot see any details to follow. Please can you tell me where to find? Thank you Sally 🇬🇧
Omg I think I got it! I think 3/3 L means this: 2(3)-over-2(3) left cross front post treble cable (2/2(3/3) L FPtr): Skip next 2(3) stitches, FPtr around next 2(3) stitches, working in front of FPtr just made, FPtr around first skipped stitch, and next skipped stitch(es). 2(3)-over-2(3) right cross front post treble cable (2/2(3/3) R FPtr): Skip next 2(3) stitches, FPtr around next 2(3) stitches, working behind FPtr just made, FPtr around first skipped stitch and next skipped stitch(es). I found it on the website above the pattern. Am I correct?
I'm hoping someone can answer my question. On the Cable rounds, where would you insert your hook for the ESC? I'm just having a hard time telling which one is the stitch that the ESC would go into. With a Fpdc, it's super easy to distinguish where to insert the Hook because the st goes into the front post and not the top of a stitch. So, if I follow/trace the front post to see where the top of the stitch is, would my ESC go into the top left st of the front post dc from the previous row? Uugh, I wish I could post a photo to show what I'm asking 😔
Hello, a question on the hat that you are wearing, did you leave more points to separate the braids because I see that the one I am doing stays together only the extended point separates it, please I hope you answer me, 🙏
Different sizes have different amounts of stitches in between. I am wearing the adult size. The cable doesn't change so in order to have different sizes the amount of stitches in between has to change.
@@mjsoffthehook To have 4 intermediate points, how many points should I have as a base or multiples of how many would I put for an adult and child hat? I await your response. Thank you very much for answering me. I will wait. Thank you.

where is the information for an adult hat?

I used the Adult pattern but it came out way way wayyy too small. I followed everything to a T, what happened??

Sometimes crochet isn't as stretchy as knit.

Actually my Pom Poms are made of Acrylic. They are not from an animal at all. This comment is disgusting.
Most people buy the pom poms from Amazon.I highly doubt anyone uses real fur pompoms nowadays🙄..weird comment.
