Half an hour in, and I'm really enjoying the complexity of their relationship. They've carried over their grudges and the husband lived with her for twenty years with these feelings. He's so dependent upon this vengeful attachment to his wife, that he almost loves her. 48 minutes in. Aah! Amazing! He thinks she's doing it all for love just like in the past life and he loves that. Notice how he doesn't pay all that much attention to his so-called love of his life when faced with his wife.
I’m glad ML got what was coming for him. I feel bad for his mom. But mostly, I wish the love interest’s story made more sense. Neither FL or ML knew who he was despite ML being arrested by him. We have no idea why he was so devoted to FL. They explained why he wasn’t listed on the exams but that’s way less important than how he knew FL or why he was so in love with her that he would want to be reborn with her. Like the story would have been fine if he was just some random guy that had a crush but never pursued her because she was in love with someone else. No rebirth necessary but if you insist he be reborn, shouldn’t it be explained? ML came back for his first love. FL came back to have a life not centered around ML. 2ML came back why? We don’t even know why he and ML died to be reborn. Was ML executed? Was there an accident? Was it suicide? Were they transported when FL died and just rode her coattails? Clearly, I have questions. I’m usually happy to suspend reality and internet dramas get a lot of grace because budgets are tiny and story pacing basically doesn’t exist but 2ML having zero story kinda pissed me off.

I think it's implied Qinghui had a crush on her but was only admiring her from a distance because she was already engaged and in love with her shitty partner. He either did know of her in school but never talked to her or made a change to his life so he could be at their school in rebirth. Either way he was in love in the last life. In the end he wishes to do his life over and actually go out of his way to win her over. He chooses to study and be the best student so he can be the better option for her so that she isn't taken advantage of by her past husband and hence he can prevent her death. That's how I interpreted him anyways and idk how much this series is rebirth as I feel it's more going back in time. There's gonna be plot holes but at least it was entertaining
I think in order for the FL to have the life she was intended ML & ML2 had to return, not necessarily through Death. Around 34:00 on the bridge ML2 reminded ML of all the things the FL had done for him in his previous life; ML2 knew a lot. Therefore this tells me that ML2 was also reborn. He must have loved her in the previous life but had no history with her; they never met. This Time he wasn't going to mess around and miss an opportunity.

I think he’s trying not to react like a father for her own good. We see at the end he finally says who is daughter is and why she has a different last name. It was probably to protect her while she grows up. Kids are vulnerable and he probably feels it’s safer if no one knows the truth until the time is right. I mean they do tell us he’s the richest man in Shanghai so that would make her a big target. But We see he actually does love her a lot so it was probably hard for him to just watch. I guess it’s hard not running to defend your kid in that situation but when that very thing can put them in more danger long term it makes sense. Sucks but makes sense.
