    I like the video but where's the good, bad, and ugly. The Sawmill looks like it's functioning very well.

    I'm thinking a 2 ton winch on an overhead gantry with a choker strap could save a lot of potential back injuries over having to use a cant hook to flip a large log? Obviously you'd have to have an enclosure such as this one, but as long as you mount the ends of the gantry on the upright poles it should work great. It may take a little longer, but it would save some wear and tear on your back!

    • @tlroughsawn2184
      @tlroughsawn2184  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      The mill is normally outside so when the logs get that big we use my tractor to flip them, plus I've just invested in logrites mega hook canthook. At 78in you get some serious leverage. Thanks for watching.

    TL what a job U do on those big logs
    I am just getting my TK1220 set up to saw oak boards for my fence around 4 acres and repair barn.

    As usual your milling is very efficient.
    I noticed that some of your 1X3s were knocked off by the saw blade at the end. A simple fix.... drive a nail into the cant... problem solved.
    Seriously, I do not think that a nail is a good idea; a 1/2" lag bolt would be better.
    Keep up the good work.

    WM makes a good mill for sure...but ur gonna need a lot of board ft to pay it off. Ive got a 30 yr old linn mill, cost me next to nothing and puts out smoother cuts than my buddy's lt15 wide. Not to mention in under a year he had to warranty the lift struts.

Set it up to where u drop logs straight from truck to bunk....less time on and off the tractor. Leave the tractor at the end of the out feed to go straight to the kiln.
