    Amazon ElastiCache is an in-memory key-value store that sits between your application and the data store (database) that it accesses.
    Whenever your application requests data, it first makes the request to the ElastiCache cache.
    If the data exists in the cache and is current, ElastiCache returns the data to your application.
    If the data doesn't exist in the cache or has expired, your application requests the data from your data store or the database we have our RDS database.
    Your datastore then returns the data to your application. Your application next writes the data received from the store to the cache.
    This way, it can be more quickly retrieved the next time it's requested.

    Hello sir, i really enjoying ur tuitorial & those content are great. I have a query regarding on elasticache & rds proxy!! So as per my understanding rds proxy & elasticache both used for faster retrieving data from database. So does we have to use both of this service for database or just any of them is good enough for?

    Hello Pythoholic.....i have one question ... by having an application running on instances, providing a db, elasticache, monitoring etc are we on platform as a service level or Infrastructure as a service level.... can you mention if application management on EC2 instances is PAAS or still IAAS ?

    • @Pythoholic
      @Pythoholic  ปีที่แล้ว

      That fall under both Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) and Platform as a Service (PaaS) categories.
      EC2 instances, where your application is running, are an IaaS offering. IaaS provides virtualized computing resources over the internet, allowing you to configure and manage the infrastructure at the virtual machine level.
      However, services like a managed database (e.g., RDS or DynamoDB), Elasticache, and monitoring tools can be considered PaaS offerings. PaaS provides a platform for developers to deploy and manage applications without worrying about underlying infrastructure, as the platform takes care of it.

      @@Pythoholic yeah i want to make sure coz there is an impression that AWS is only IAAS unlike azure , but common sense tells me it obv providing PAAS.. tq for clearing the confusion
