BrazenBullXXX To be fair, there wasn't much of a plot to give, the entire premise of the movie is that she is stranded on that rock with the shark and needs to survive, that is stressed out to a full movie's runtime, there's only so much you can do on a rock in the middle of the water while surrounded by a shark.
+Matt Musky They literally showed her plan, methodology and part of the execution. Unless there's an Alien, a Predator and Freddy Krueger showing up late to the fight, they showed the little that could be done (Use the signaling buoy, time the shark, shoot and stab him)

One of the best survival shark horror movies ever!
47 meters down and it’s sequel, far out perform this movie.. not saying this one was bad, but those are the best shark movies ever made. Soo suspenseful and intensely THRILLING. I actually fear I’ll never see another movie as mind blowing-ly thrilling as those, including another movie made by the same people called “fall.” If anyone has any recommendations… please drop them here!

I thought this would be a terrible movie, so i didn't expect much when i saw it. But i was so so surprised by it. I thought it was a very beautiful movie - the way it was filmed, the colors and so - that was remarkable. It had a strange quality to it - that i don't really know how to explain, but it certainly stood out to me. And the acting was good as well. I couldn't see how they could make an entertaining and interesting movie with just one actor alone, in one place. But it works really well in my opinion.

You'd be surprised about one actor in one place, I loooove "Buried" with Ryan Reynolds, and "Brake" with Stephen Dorff, those two are just fantastic and spectacular to me, haven't seen this one yet tho 😉

This is a brilliantly made movie, underrated as hell, amazing visuals and stunningly told. Really makes you tensed in situations. Wow a good shark movie after ages. Blake Lively really did an amazing job!

This movie was awesome. The ocean looked so beautiful in this film. And the plot was pretty good and entertaining, it was done so well, also blake lively's character was so likeable, and her acting was really good.

Lets see them try that when she isn't fully fed and is extremely hungry. Notice how they swim beside her and not on the surface. Sharks attack from below in almost all cases.

The girl in this movie was smart, resourceful, and a real survivor. I felt more of a connection with her than with the couple in "Open Waters" from 2004. She had more warmth to her. Even in her hideous state, she worried about her family and cared enough about the seagull to save him too.
I was living and working on Lord Howe Island at the time they filmed and it was so amazing watching the whole process and meeting and looking after all the crew and cast :) an awesome experience.

The first trailer had me intrigued because it had a shroud of mystery- very little was shown. Just Blake Lively on top of a rock with a shark swimming around. This one, however, spoiled a few things that would otherwise have tension whilst watching the movie. So I hope Sony doesn't release any more trailers for this film.

OMG, right? I am no stranger to the ocean, and I know that it can be a beautiful, dangerous, alien planet. So breathtaking, so deadly.
Don't be afraid. Sharks can tell the difference between humans and seals/other prey, and once it bites a human it realizes that it wants nothing to do with it.
I have always found it quite surprising (and or depressing) that people think it is a good idea to dress up like the sharks main prey flippers and all, swim around in known shark areas and complain / act surprised when they get bitten.
I was skeptical at first but after I watched it I actually enjoyed it 😊

Amazing shark movie, In my opinion it's the second best shark film of all time, only conquered by Jaws.. Normally i always bashed the camera man, but in this case it's him who makes this movie incredible, but Blake Lively does a fantastic job too.
