But bracing doesn’t exactly train the ab muscles for hypertrophy style exercises like crunches. But he dominated the pushups, because he obviously benches more than he weighs, meaning he can rep his body weight.
Crunches aren't a "hypertrophy style" exercise. Whether you're biasing strength or hypertrophy depends on the weight you load in order to hit failure after non-specific rep ranges. Strength tends to be heavier and lower repetition counts where you fail around 1-3ish reps, whereas hypertrophy is biased when you use a lighter weight in order to fail around 6-10 reps. You can do crunches for strength training if you enjoy the movement, which I would guess Shayne does if he trains for strength. While I'm not shocked a more complete fitness test showcases people's exercise preferences by seeing what they've obviously had practice with, it's definitely interesting. Ian’s cross country experience really came in clutch for the run segment
It’s cool seeing their different strengths. Ian killed that sprint. Damn.
19:01 Ian seeing the guy doing pull ups and realizing it then tries not to laugh is so funny to me.
We now need a smosh fitness test. Just a whole bunch of random activities
They need to do the pacer test
They do the pacer test and the whole gen z audience has flashbacks
Im here after the Smosh Mouth episode. Who else? 😂
Same lol
Marcus seems so charismatic, smiling and laughing the whole time. He should join the on-camera cast more often.
Need some heavy metal music playing for when Shayne does sit ups lol
just down with the sickness 😂
@@emilythomson418 Perfect lmao.
I love that Spencer slowly became a cast member even though he's still crew; he's so cute! 😊
That guy aggressively doing quick little pull ups sent me💀 19:07
Shaynes muscles doing pull ups is giving Captain America pulling the helicopter...
Smosh Mouth brought me here (although I do remember also watching this when it first came out too)!
19:09 the random guy doing hip thrust on the pull up is HILARIOUS 😂
Genuinely impressed by Ian’s lungs on the run
As a runner I gotta say I’m loving watching Ian whoop up on the run.
Can we just talk about how gracefully Shayne dropped down from the pullup bar???????????? Like it was SO perfect.
i didnt think Shayne could get any hotter, respectfully, but the pull-up elegance just flipped me over
As a former cross country runner, I always had the feeling Ian was a fellow XC bro. He literally lapped them all.
People don’t give him enough credit for all the medals he has won. He’s still so good!
One of the best eps in a hot minute, I already love the Challenge Pit vids but this gives such Summer Games-energy it makes me nostalgic!!! Love seeing both cast and crew having a good giggle together while having fun and competing
Ian probably did so well with the running cause he did track! Good on him!
So did Courtney but that didn't help her
It looks like Ian still runs. Courtney's form was pretty bad and she mentioned a treadmill meaning she probably doesn't do running as cardio.
@@herb_rolls yeah, it shows that a treadmill made to replace cardio for running isn't actually a good replacement
@@cass12234 oh 100% when I trained for my first 10k charity run, I was shocked by how 10k on the treadmill was so much easier than on the trail!
i love courtney's laugh when shayne starts screaming at 7:08 .. so genuinine
How can Ian be so funny and running effortlessly 😂
He trained his whole life for this. It’s like those kids who say “Oh boy I’m so scared for the test results. I barely studied!” And then they get A+ on them cause they are super good at some subjects. He let everyone feel good for being so good at strength training and stayed humble only to crush them using his cross country champion experience😂 GOATED
"HOLD MY FEET" 📢📢📢 hits different after April 1st
Y’all really did Shayne, Courtney, and Spencer dirty by not telling them it was 6 laps until after they had sprinted-
I absolutely love this concept. I’d love to see you guys challenge each other to some kind of dancing competition, like pole dancing 👀
Edit: okay so apparently you have a pole dancing video but the comment stands, a dance-off of epic proportions would be incredible.
Pole dancing again!
@@tragicprince_ they did it before
They can have Selena help them do aerial hoops :o
they already did that (at day jobs i believe.)
@@tragicprince_ well it already exists haha
I really like Marcus, he seems like a very nice guy
I hope you do this again with a different set of cast. Idk why but I feel like Chanse would kill it at the running specifically.
Ian's energy with his cohorts is what kept this channel alive. felt.
The hand rejection of Ian from Marcus was hilarious. Worthy of another court battle.
The dude in the back doing those mini-pull-ups took me OUT 😂💀
I relate so hard to screaming during sit ups 💀
19:08 YALL DID THAT MAN DIRTYYYY LMAOOO😭😭😭😭😭😭💀
I think it'd be interesting if some of the cast/crew (if not certified) could take a basic CPR/trauma class/test and see who would pass. Get the mannequins in there and everything!
