They love chestnuts. I have 2 trees in my back yard. There is a house 20yds from them. I put a camera buy them and the deer would litterally camp out buy those trees all night. So no ive been planting chestnuts at my hunting property
Those tubes are a death sentence for any tree in the Midwest. The crown has to be ABOVE the top of the tube. Otherwise japanese beetles go inside, too dumb to get out, send pheromones that draw in more, then eat the plant dead.
