Just curious... Knowing black and red would fight before you or red would fight and that you would fight white and black isn't not breaking red better for you? The way it turned out black went for a premature kill allowing you to take his position seems very unlikely and lucky to me.
Some sloppy mistakes by, well, just about everyone in this game. I’m a little annoyed pink got 2nd since it’s pretty clear that’s all he was playing for. White at least had the balls to expand and keep you in check, at first anyway.
@Kylted I just want to provide an update. It's been a while since I last commented, and I don't even know if you remember me. I wouldn't blame you if you didn't, as I'm sure you get TONS of comments on your many videos. But, to jog your memory, I'm the GM who plays pretty much nothing but Classic Fixed and maintains that GM rank in that mode month in and month out. Anyway, just wanted to let you know that, as of 5 minutes ago writing this, I'm currently ranked at 102, just barely outside the top 100. Not too bad for someone who doesn't play any Progressive games, eh? If you want to look me up on the Risk leaderboard for proof, the user name is pretty much the same as my TH-cam handle, minus the underscores and the 86: James Ford.
That's awesome! I do love Classic Fixed, I just can't stick to one thing though, I need the variety. I know a lot of viewers wish I could live on Eu Adv Caps lol
@@KyltedMy reasoning for only playing Classic FIxed is twofold: 1. It's the game mode everyone who plays Risk knows how to play. Therefor, it's more of a challenge to win consistently in that mode and by extension more of an accomplishment than beating players who may or may not be familiar with an arbitrary game mode that didn't exist in the original game. 2. There's less luck involved. I do realize there will always be luck in a game involving dice and cards, but there is considerably more luck involved in Progressive than Fixed, as you can often recover from mistakes easier with card trades in Progressive than you can in Fixed. That said, I do understand how someone might like Progressive and I'd never try to stop them from playing it, but I feel, for myself personally, that's it's more of a challenge to attain and maintain GM rank in Classic Fixed. Heck, I don't even use Fog and Blizzards either, as these features were also not present in the original game. The only thing I use that wasn't in the original game is the Balanced Blitz feature. Otherwise, if you were forced to manual roll every attack, like you would in the original board game, the game would take FOREVER. My goal is to climb as high on the leaderboard as I can playing only Fixed. That way, when I'm eventually near the top, I can honestly say I did it in the most difficult way possible.
I also originally got GM just playing Classic fixed but don’t think I ever threatened the top 100. Nice bro! Personally after playing some different game modes I just find fixed so frustrating now because it stalemates and is usually decided by a suicide with no recourse. It’s also difficult to maintain win rates as high as they need to be, to be anywhere in the top 10 you need 80%+ win rates and top 5 is 90%+. If you can get there do it brother, GL!
It seems you could have expanded a lot more quickly on the bottom than you did. It makes sense to play that way from the standpoint that you’re better than everyone else by a lot, but given you usually play more aggressively, I didn’t understand that.
It depends on my feel during a game. I might have been able to get away with it here but I guess when I was playing I hesitated a bit expecting too much confrontation
Regarding hitting Reds bonuses to progress the game, and because he couldn’t do anything to you, yes, he couldn’t do anything to you, but did it progress the game? If you didn’t break his bonuses, he’d have fought with Black, keeping both of the weaker while you got stronger, so seems like it might have made it harder for you because Black got stronger. Minor point. Super well played, as per usual.
I am starting to hate this game today second collaboration two strongest players clearing only others and one very fast player master minimum playing from novice account, what a band of cheaters! Got 4th position and lost 1400 points!!

A potential alps cap could have destroyed his game. Capping in spain decreases the downsides of that
