    Thank you. This is the first instructional video on the subject that is concise and answered all my concerns.

    Thank you! Always wondered how some trees are lit so perfectly. It's the double spacing going up and filling it in on the way down that is the trick!!! Can't wait to try this.

    Great video. I just put my holiday lights up at my yard tree today. However, I would recommend that you use twist ties instead of staples, because staples can damage the tree bark. But yes, the lights sometimes need additional support or they will sag or fall over time.

    "unfortunately I picked a tree with thorns" .... cute. Excellent video. I am planning to wrap similar size trees today, our one dry day this week. First time doing so, this is really helpful!

    Instead of staples, we use a hot glue gun. Works great on most surfaces outdoors with no damage...at least we haven't had any damage yet. And we use electrical tape to waterproof all of the plugs

      Most likely the tree is hurting from the staples.

    Staples in a thinly barked tree can introduce diseases and entry points for damaging insects.

    Why you don't want to cross coming back down?

  • @goforwand31
    @goforwand31 5 ปีที่แล้ว +11

    Great tips, but the extension cord is the wrong kind. That is an indoor only type of cord and not meant to run the type of power Christmas lights pull. Any time you run Christmas lights, especially a lot, you should only use a grounded 3-prong outdoor extension cord because they are made for the pull and are much more weatherproof and durable than what he is using. I have been putting up displays for more than 20 years and have had electricians help me over the years as I wanted to maximize my display while also being safe and those cords he is using are one of the first things I was told to avoid. Oh and I have never use staples on my trees when wrapping lights. The key is to hook them around notches or branches to keep them in place.
