    We'll never bye any DYMO products again because the newer models do not take 3rd party labels any more.

      ​@@littlerock5909The new devices (5 series) only accept the expensive Dymo labels (with a build-in microchip). They do not work with cheap no-name labels.

    So no it doesn't use a laser, it uses a small heater that warms the paper that's specially treated to react to heat. If it used a laser it would havr to be marked as such.

      Oh wow I didn’t know such a thing was possible that’s honestly more impressive than it being a laser! Now I’ve gotta tear one apart so I can look at the print head. Which should I sacrifice?

      @@ChadsCustomCreations a laser would be great so you don't have to buy rolls of expensive thermal paper. BTW, using your Amazon link let me know they also have a 300 dpi unit for 120USD. Therefore, sacrifice the 203 dpi for a new 300 dpi ....

      Hey​@@ChadsCustomCreations I was just wondering the difference between the "All in one" version and the "split" version? The link you provide in this thread is the all in one version but the one you use in the video is the split version. Btw both are 300dpi now so you should probably update your link for the printer used in the video since it's only the 203dpi and at the same price point as the newer version 300dpi. Thank you btw for all the info!

But I'm sure they know what they are doing they want as much people to afford it so they can let others know and as soon as it becomes popular it'll be over $100. I wish they made an AirPrint one. Kinda sucks Rollo is the only company doing that and charging a premium.

    I'll never buy a Dymo printer again because I have one along with several hundred labels but it does not work with Windows 11 and Dymo said they are not going to release a driver update.

    $408 is overpriced for a Dymo LabelWriter 4XL as it is an older model. There is a newer model called Dymo 5XL but that one doesn't take third-party labels since it has DRM.

      @@ChadsCustomCreations from $200 to $300 depending on the seller. But as I mentioned it has paper DRM so you can’t use third party labels.

    Great no-nonsense, practical comparison. I was curious to see what was the difference between 203 and 300 DPI and you demonstrated it very clearly. The 4XL apparently does 81mm/s vs Vevor's 150mm/s.

      Yeah easier to print at higher speed when the dpi isnt as high so your basically trading print quality for speed

      The priority boxes you can get for free but can only use priority labels with. You can order from their website at no cost.

    I had bought a cheap one too and it only lasted about 600 labels now it jams up and doesnt print the labels as good as it used to , yes i cleaned the roller and the thermal part

      I don’t believe there is a built in address book. But most of the sites like Etsy eBay and other platforms auto populate the shipping information onto the label automatically for you anyways.

    Will this printer take any labels and any size.Not like dymo that onlt take there lables.Can you work this from your phone all the time.

      I believe so. It will work from the phone but you may have to always import the image to the app to print. Which is an extra step.

      I haven’t personally tested it but on the listing it does list chrome as being compatible.

      I do still have it but I have so many labels for my dymo I am still working my way through those. I would still recommend the vevor you just can’t beat their prices.

    Neither print compares to a Toshiba BV410D. If you want to run a business, do not buy a toy. The BV410D reliably prints barcodes and QR codes that will scan.

      @@ChadsCustomCreations I often end up replacing Dymo printers because they are worn out or the user finds the operating cost to high, Dymo forces you to buy their proprietary label media which is expensive.

      The Dymo forces you to use their propietary labels (RFID chip in the label core) which are priced way above market price. The Dymo cannot handle 500 labels per day.@@ChadsCustomCreations

      The Vevor has no brand name recognition, does not have a replacable print head and does not include quality label design software that allows you to do things like sequential numbering of barcodes.
