Our religious leaders have a major role to play in muslim education eradication of illiteracy eradication of poverty and health if muslim ummah globally which they dismiss by saying these things are worldly things and continue to only limit their responsibility to khutbas and lectures, however Muslims have invested their hard earned money on making these people ulemas muftis scholars etc free of cost, but their representation in pillars of humanity and human development is zeero..

Do you not realize that most of the Arab states, Egypt, Jordan, Saudi, and all the gulf states are siding with Israel and America? It pretty much leaves Iran with militant terrorists organizations like H and H in the north. Iran is becoming the pariah in the Middle East

Absolutely, by far, the Best interview on international politics, power and humanity, I've heard. Ever!
It's sad and heartbreaking that Gazans had to façe such horrible martyrdom, but none have died in vein.
The world is seeing Islam as it really is; nit at all the narrative fed to us in the West.
Many of us are actually reading the Quran to see for ourselves the lies we've been fed.
Bless all the Gazans for their amazing grit and grace that all humanity can admire.

There is, however, an important caveat. Both Arabs and Romanic-Europeans made a big mistake at the turn of the first millennium CE. They fought each other for centuries instead of blocking the advance of the turkic hordes. In particular, the Arabs made a big mistake fighting the Byzantinians and appeasing the Seldjuk Turks. The result is that Central-Asia in disguise now rules the West and the Middle East alike ... think about it. Time for Arabs and Europeans to collaborate against the common enemy

In any case talk about politics. It is no shame to pick your battles, but there will be no improvements if people just distrust and hate each other. I bet you and most of your fellow citizens would have no trouble agreeing on causes for which to spend some of your tax dollars going into military budget.
Do not get me wrong, I am not advising you the other extreme. Being able to defend one's country is good. But cutting down your military which is bloated way beyond that a bit would enable you to have a nicer time in your country.

We grew up with a distrust of the US and Britain. When we challenged the motives of the US, they brought down our democratically elected government.

Thanks for your honesty, really admire your courage. Nonetheless, none of us are poor in our spirit and thinking, working towards making things positive for us. My work takes me to the world of children and families who are disadvantaged by what you describe and being subjected to colonizing.
Alcohol is introduced without boundaries to these communities and this is causing havoc and abuse till now. I wish that the people see how the money making monster continue to benefit by introducing social evil in various forms. To name some war, weapons, alcohol, recreational drugs, prostitution, exploiting children and women for sex, gender confusion and many more

It is really hard when I see some families still stuck in this. Wonder what is still missing ro make complete recovery.

To understand colonialism with all its complex layers first we must decolonise our minds or at least try because its a lifetime mission and beyond ... What the British and other coloinalists did was very cruel and inhuman, empting the workhouses and prisons most people's crimes were thst they were poor.. Coloinalism is about divide and rule.. I hope rather than take what I am going to say personally.. I hope we will take it or put into a historical context this is the way I have always made sense of the madness of Apartheid in Southern Africa.
Australia is also described as an Apartheid system where the indigenous people are treated as subhuman or in colonial times they were listed as flora and fauna...the way abuse works is it starts at the very top and works its ugly self down.. Your ancestors because they were poor were abused in Britain by the upper classes and when they got to Australia they found a people to abuse and avenge their treatment by the upper classes.. They became the upper class and monster they left behind In Europe.. This played out everywhere where coloinalism showed up..
In Africa they also found their underdogs to abuse and this vicious cycle just continues from generation to generation.. Same shit different day.. It was a wise African American who said something like.. You can not hold someone down without staying down there with them, be it physically, emotionally, psychologically etc..the victim usually turns victimers as we are seeing with Israel.. as we are seeing with Australia, America and other parts...as we saw with the various versions of Apartheid systems in Southern Africa where I come from... All want to address only the harm caused by the colonial system to them but not connect the dots or see it all as one vicious cycle that it is.. Its all too easy that whilst focusing on the wrongs done to one's group they are blind to their own injustices and crimes against others.. Its speaking against colonialism with colonised tongues and thats one of the reasons why we keep rehashing history.. A friend of mine always corrects people who say that "history is repeating itself".. He says no.. "its people who repeat history" because we refuse to learn from it...The Israel Palastine Issue should really make us all open our eyes.. See ourselves from the eyes of of those living in the shadows of our inhumanity...

Yes I am. I do my due dilligence on not just current happenings, but also the history. Russia is the aggressor and is much younger than Ukraine. Ukraine is in the right for their fight. Just like Palestine is in the right. I wont condemn Hamas. What other options did they have, given the circumstances in Gaza. And truths are coming out, my suspicions seem correct. Hamas it seems, did not commit all of the atrocities, they had help from the Israeli IDF, not just in the killings, but their lies in regards to the atrocities.

@@VCatCrusader so right on Israel but still so wrong on Russia.
Suggest you do a bit more due diligence on Ukrainian atrocities and bombing of civilians in the Donbas by the far right avowerdly fascist military following the CIA enabled Maidan coup to remove a democratically elected leader. The denial of the human rights of minorities by Zelensky's regime, the serial breaking of international UN certified agreements like Minsk1 and Minsk2, and, if America is to be believed, the destructive terrorist attack on Nordstream which has led to sky high fuel prices here in Europe and crashing the standard of living here. I could go on and on.....And over 300,000 dead Ukrainian soldiers, how many more? They are sending women and old men to die now.
If you really do due diligence, maybe you'll be on the right side of history in both conflicts. Here's hoping.

Brilliant conversation. Mr. Khanfar's point regarding the Palestinian struggle acting as a reflection of the Global South rejection of colonial legacy is crucial. The Western attempts to maintain this structural reality of exploitation, including assisting in the implementation of the genocide of Palestinians as a threat to all formerly colonized peoples of the world, are doomed to fail. It is an exponential effect: the more brutal and hypocritical the Western actions, the more resistance and rejection they face. It is not sustainable for long.

If anyone got confused about the date 630 which ibn al-Athir wrote his book, it's in accordance to the Hijri calendar. In the Gregorian calendar it would be in the 1230s, and the Mongol invasion of Bagdad was 1258.

Thank you also for your critical questions that bring about very insightful answers to our Ummah. I now consider your podcast as a definitive source of wealth of knowledge always paired with hope and implementable actions for individuals and groups. I understand that you are not the source of this hope, rather Allah swt is, but you do a terrific job of shining a light on it with your incredibly knowledgeable guests and smart questions/topics. JazakAllah khair for all your efforts and may Allah write as one of the revivers of the spirit of this Ummah.

I am a Western European and I understand how our White Suprematists Colonialists war mongers operate. However I have a problem with understanding why the wealthy Arabic countries never helped their Palestinian brothers. Not only since their problems started in 1948 but worse even now during this genocide.
To make things worse the UAE offered 5,000 citizenships to Israelis. What’s with that?
Are the wealthy Arabic countries American puppets?
I hope one day you do a show on this topic to enlighten us 🙏🏻

The Jews' modus operandi is to make the Gentile nations economically indebted to them. Then they can control them. For example, Turkey continues to export oil to Israel.

The Othoman Empire collapsed with the help of the British .
Westen Powers ,mainly Britain ,France carved the region and appointed heads of state or financed dictatorships or turned a blind eye to what's going on ,and in many cases worked with the dictators to suppress decent. The reason is steal resources, guarantee the safety of Isreal and to use the lands to build military bases to wage war at will .
The Arab populations are under tyrannical rule .no exception .
      Some have Al-Saud .
      Some Had Saddam Hussain .
      Some Has Gathafi.
Contrary to Western belief. Gathafi was one of the worst .
Palestine is surrounded by sympathetic nations with unelected figure heads that steal, torture and obey the Master in The White House .
Hope I cleared it up for you .
