I only just rewatched this recently, and I realized Tony was preparing Stark Industries to continue after his death. He was expecting to die, so he begun preparing everyone for his death without telling anyone.
Not just stark industries, the iron man suit too. Just like Fury and Natasha stated, his suits have redundancies to prevent unauthorized usage. Meaning, no one can wear his suits without him allowing it. He let Rhodey take his suit to prepare him to be the next Iron Man after he dies.

Since those characters don't have tony's personality, they instead make them sort of stupid to make them fit (Thor) or they are smart and smuck, exactly like tony (strange) apart from the humor which is something I (not tube rants which especially on marvel are old already) dislike nowadays, marvel movies these days tend to have pretty structured scripts which end up feeling samey and the characters are there seemingly to just be there. Here you have tony giving pepper the company because he knows he's going to die, and the whole scene isn't conveyed as dramatic, it's shown in its own, iron man way so to speak. Tony's motives for giving the company aren't literally spoken, they are implied. This level of depth (which is extremely basic and easy to read) just isn't there in the new movies tl;dr: but to save you time I'll just say that the fact that marvel's movies nowadays suck ass can be noticed by anyone, idk why you're angry at tube rants

It started with her comprehensible frustration and then was escalating with him not listening (and me getting really annoyed with him) and ended with her crying of happiness. It's almost like the confusion on the scene was improvised. Such a goated scene, i feel like i watched too people interact. I also like how she didnt remain stoic and fought for her righteousness!! If she had a view of "is his company, he can do whatever he wants, things outside of you hands happens" she wouldnt have fire and fuel to fight for that.
You can tell this is an older film now with the dismissal of wind farms by Pepper when they are now the primary electricity generation in numerous countries.
My guess is, Tony Stark knew that even if he did supposedly add a separate external arc reactor for the suits, any hackers can simply override the suits’ security and control them (like Spider-Man Homecoming), but they can never replicate the arc reactor. Jebdiah Stone from Iron Man 1, for example, personally stole Tony Stark’s arc reactor because he couldn’t replicate it himself, even though he can replicate the iron suit a.k.a. Iron Monger.
It's probably ego and convenience. Only having to rely on 1 reactor makes maintenence easy since its a 2 in 1 system, keeps him alive and powers the suit. Also, I can't imagine how costly it would be to develop another miniature arc reactor, remember this is early in the MCU (before Avengers Tower) so he hasn't gone on his paranoid suit and tech building spree.
Or even just have any kind of boundry around the reactor. Or simply use the magnets to pull the shrapnel out of his heart instead of just suspending it (this he eventually does do).
Did anyone else notice that while Tony was saying how Pepper was the ANSWER to who should run his company, the EXPO (the ANSWER to his dying problem) showed up on the screen as a bit of foreshadowing?
What i don't understand is, why is he not getting thise shrapnels removed? He is no longer in a cave, being held captive by terrorists. He waits till the end of ironman 3 to get those removed, so it was clearly possible
@@satyam8675this. Removing the shrapnel could've literally killed him. The only reason why he made it was due to the surgeon being very damn good and endorsed by Yinsen and also the fact they used his arc reactor electro magnet as the extraction mechanic.
