    REALLY AMAZING!!!!******
    To you all I say:
    Laugh when you can,
    apologize when you should,
    and let go of what you can't change.
    play hard,
    forgive quickly,
    take chances,
    give everything
    and have no regrets.
    Life's too short to be anything...but happy.

    Come up to meet you, tell you I'm sorry
    You don't know how lovely you are
    I had to find you, tell you I need you
    Tell you I set you apart
    Tell me your secrets and ask me your questions
    Oh, let's go back to the start
    Running in circles, coming up tails
    Heads on a science apart
    Nobody said it was easy
    It's such a shame for us to part
    Nobody said it was easy
    No one ever said it would be this hard
    Oh, take me back to the start
    I was just guessing at numbers and figures
    Pulling the puzzles apart
    Questions of science, science and progress
    Do not speak as loud as my heart
    But tell me you love me, come back and haunt me
    Oh and I rush to the start
    Running in circles, chasing our tails
    Coming back as we are
    Nobody said it was easy
    Oh, it's such a shame for us to part
    Nobody said it was easy
    No one ever said it would be so hard
    I'm going back to the start
    Oh ooh, ooh ooh ooh ooh
    Ah ooh, ooh ooh ooh ooh
    Oh ooh, ooh ooh ooh ooh
    Oh ooh, ooh ooh

    To the "technical and trained classical" musicians commenting negatively on Mr. Side's videos: what David is doing is what the TH-cam generation/viewers want to see and enjoy. We appreciate this. We think it's brilliant. We might be wrong from a technical and trained perspective - Mr. Side might suck to a trained professional - and you might be a better classical piano player than Mr. Side, but you're not providing us with this entertain we love. So go back to your opera house and stop hating.

    se necesitarian 3 manos para tocar bien ese tema, ya que no se puede seguir la continuidad del bajo y los acordes al mismo tiempo que se toca la melodía.

    @YouT0Tube Well, I can understand why people dislike this video. Generally, I like David's covers, but this one sounds very boring. I think it could have been done in a much more interesting way. I even like Adrien Lee's cover better than that.
    P.S. I make piano covers myself, so maybe that's why I can see how this one can be improved. And once again, I like David's covers very much, I just think this one he didn't work on long and thoroughly enough.

  • @JazzKeyboardist1

    excellent comment if you meant it to be funny, most people do not even understand why they like music, it is to sing a-long with the vocalist, that is why instrumental music is boring to most people, how many sing by themselves a cappella without a recording? while instrumentalists drive their spouses crazy improvising while trying to get their partner to give them a happy ending at the same time, With the birth of the first artist, came the inevitable afterbirth of the critic,lol

  • @schase10353
    @schase10353 12 ปีที่แล้ว

    TH-cam is littered with people that can't sing, so they change the original song and call it a cover. It's hard to learn from it if you want to sing and it's annoying to listen to the piano alone. As a piano player it's really annoying when you have to search hundreds of covers to find one vocal/piano cover. I'm not hating, I'm just frustrated that there are so many damn piano players and no one knows or has the confidence to sing.

  • @JazzKeyboardist1
    @JazzKeyboardist1 11 ปีที่แล้ว

    funny , meaning schase10353 was intentionally acting dumb and dumber because he is not witty in any other way,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, if someone has no talent, at least they can be a youtube critic and think they are

  • @HowToBeAWierdo
    @HowToBeAWierdo 13 ปีที่แล้ว

    @Eazy24Erik I hate how you automaticly assume technical people play classical. I play modern rock/alternative song on my piano, and I still think he isn't great compared to other TH-camrs. Don't get me wrong, he is good at piano, and considering that this was made four years ago, and he has most likely inproved alot since, he definatly has the potential to be great. I wouldn't mind watching a redo of some of his song with his current skill, but the "technical classical lovers" have a point.

  • @TheRealrocker74
    @TheRealrocker74 13 ปีที่แล้ว

    @DickKnowsBest I wasn't arguing that at all. I'm just saying that unless you have a prodigy or something, a pro will always sound better then some person who doesn't know what they're doing as much. And a prodigy is someone who plays like a pro without training, or at a very young age. I'm not dissing dave sides, but I'm saying he's not a prodigy and I know plenty of people who are trained classical pianists that can play this much better. But this is by no means a bad performance in my opinion.

  • @TheRealrocker74
    @TheRealrocker74 13 ปีที่แล้ว

    @EvangelionUnit13 they are still entitled to their opinion. You can't say, "just because it's not positive means it isn't allowed." Good or bad, people have freedom of speech. Maybe you're not from america, but Mr. Sides is and those are one of the rights of this country. Haters gonna hate, just let them and don't take it upon yourself to do anything about it because you can't change their minds. Those 126 dislikes aren't going to disappear from your actions.

  • @Eazy24Erik
    @Eazy24Erik 13 ปีที่แล้ว

    @TheRealrocker74 The point is that David Sides seems to be the only person playing piano covers to new, popular songs and sharing them on TH-cam, and untrained people love it. Other pianists might be able to do the same thing, but they're not! So why comment negatively on Mr. Sides' videos? To make themselves feel better? The untrained folk don't give a crap if Mr. Sides sucks, it sounds cool enough to us. If it's not even worth explaining, as you said, then don't say anything at all.

  • @TheRealrocker74
    @TheRealrocker74 13 ปีที่แล้ว

    @Eazy24Erik people aren't hating on this guy as a musician, just as a pianist because he has terrible technique. that doesn't make him a bad musician. It just means that all he can play is stuff like this, he will never be able to play on the level of a classically trained or jazz pianist. I'm sure he's perfectly fine with that. People are free to voice their opinions here in the comments, so if someone who has put thousands of hours into practicing and honing their technique, wants to say...

  • @TheRealrocker74
    @TheRealrocker74 13 ปีที่แล้ว

    @EvangelionUnit13 Well I don't know what pianists you know, but almost all pianists I know trained in Classical or Jazz styles can play all types of amazing shit without anything in front of them. Part of classical training is Aural Dictation and being able to figure intervals, chord progressions, and melodies out by ear, so if you know pianists that can't play stuff without music in front of them, they just aren't very good. Sorry :P

  • @BcRich1671
    @BcRich1671 13 ปีที่แล้ว

    @locri94 well technically you can, HE is a musician which requires of all things alone, MUSICAL TALENT, a rapper requires well a computer with the software to make beats. Is this making any sence to you or am I waisting my breath? Weather it's im gonna kill the police OR mary had a little lamb either requires about the same amount of talent! Bottom line he is a MUSICIAN, they are not, case closed!

  • @TonySuavis
    @TonySuavis 13 ปีที่แล้ว

    What the hell do you think your doing with those grace notes? Also, improve your bass arrangements. The bass and melody is highly disconnected as well as your style of playing being very expressionless and mechanic - that does not suit this song. The 'chorus' part of the arrangement is shocking. Playing octave intervals in octaves above what was originally written does not do anything musically.

  • @foreverspellman
    @foreverspellman 14 ปีที่แล้ว

    @CliffRichard55555 See, I love music like this. Piano is so expressive of emotion. I'm terribly addicted to the idea of how music affects people. It is my dream to be able to create such music... To play with your heart, not with your hands. Play with your soul, give it your all... and somehow, you may play the same notes as the next person, but you will truly affect people. This man is gifted.

    you freaking wankers.... he plays with touch.... with his emotions in it.... he doesn't say it's good or it's not... he shows how it sounds on piano and he gives the music his own twist to it. His own imagine, his own thought... So don't go cry if you say he isn't good... he IS good... well i should say to you @goodarzi Take your 2 hours and post a vid. of a song which David didn't play yet and it has to be a NEW song... than we will talk again ;) good luck my friend, show us your skills.. XD

  • @goodarzi
    @goodarzi 15 ปีที่แล้ว

    Finally someone who forgets about the music that's being played and judges the way it's played cause let me tell u SIdes' playing style is far off anything that could be called good. i mean look at the comments people make saying "hey thats good :) " no it's not. the only reason you like it is that he is playing a cover of a pop song - a very bad cover nevertheless. PLEASE WAKE UP AND REALISE IT'S NOT GOOD. i could play his cover of aplogise in the space of two hrs. Its not hard.

  • @goodarzi
    @goodarzi 15 ปีที่แล้ว

    i completly agree but playing classic piano is a damn sight harder and i think that people like david are very over rated just cause the music they play is more understandable and easier to listen to. Personally i like classic and jazz piano and i understand that everyone has different taste but it would be a good idea to think outside the box and try something different, something far more complex but far more beautiful. And even if they dont then try listening to a better cover than this one.

    I would so love to play on that piano. How you play it sounds amazing but I'd love to be able to play this song the way I play it. Not saying in any way at all that yours is bad but I'd love to hear my version on a real piano instead of a pos 10 year old keyboard lol. Also nice to see the older videos from back in the day before hd cameras =-)

  • @TheRealrocker74
    @TheRealrocker74 13 ปีที่แล้ว

    @DickKnowsBest and I'm sorry, but I don't care how much a person loves a song and how much effort they put into it. Someone who has been playing for 10-20 years and had good teachers will always be more enjoyable to listen to because they know what they are doing and they are better players. That's why those are the people getting the gigs...not novices.

  • @TheRealrocker74
    @TheRealrocker74 13 ปีที่แล้ว

    @DickKnowsBest A trained professional first of all doesn't have to practice as much because they are on such a level, that they could probably site read something like this. Second of all, professionals DO practice more than novices because they have a lot more endurance, skill, and practice techniques. So what you just said makes no sense haha

  • @TheRealrocker74
    @TheRealrocker74 13 ปีที่แล้ว

    @EvangelionUnit13 that's fine. I didn't say that whatever their comments are, is okay, but as a user of youtube they are allowed to post whatever they want. That's my point, I didn't say you couldn't, it's perfectly alright for you to comment. I'm just saying that you attacking the haters really solves nothing except for fueling them...unless that's what you want.

  • @TonySuavis
    @TonySuavis 13 ปีที่แล้ว

    @myuzeefreak No, actually, I am well known and I'd be safe betting that I make for in one night than you do in a month.
    I'm not 'bringing' anybody down. The idea of comments is to voice opinions.
    I didn't say he should play classical music. 'Amazing' is your opinion. I am an expert and you are not correct. There is nothing remarkable about this video!

  • @iSpeakKonglish
    @iSpeakKonglish 14 ปีที่แล้ว

    Well in the video, David Sides starts w/ 2 hands. I listened to the song again and it sounds like THERE are 2 hands playing the intro. Now I really do think I have the wrong music sheets b/c I just realized that my sheets say it was arranged by Ludy, the words and music were by Guy Berryman, John Buckland, Will Champion, and Christ Martin.
    What do you think?

  • @grantrithor
    @grantrithor 15 ปีที่แล้ว

    You could make your own music with this fascinating playing, and you can make money from it, but money isn't what matters, what matters is that you can be big, you can please others with your amazing talent, your talent to play music perfectly and be recognized in all the big rich metropolises and in all of the poor deserts by playing amazing music.
    Think about it.

  • @amadeus2490
    @amadeus2490 16 ปีที่แล้ว

    Yeah, I do. Musicians giving constructive criticism to each other really isn't anything terrible; there's always room for improvement somewhere.
    I learned on a cheapie unweighted keyboard, so I understand how hard it is to adjust to the dynamic range of a grand piano at first. The only thing your playing lacks is dynamic control, as did mine for quite awhile.

    I completly agree with you. i think the only reason people like him is that he plays pop and hip hop songs. i would really like to see him play a classic. if u really want to hear a proper pianist then you have came to the wrong place, try searching kissin or barenboim or lang lang.

    Yeah, Sum 41 copied the chords for "Pieces", as well. The chords are very appealing to the human ear. It'd be interesting to see if anymore artists used these as well. You should watch Rob Pavlonian's thing on Pachabel's "Canon in D" to see how many artists used That one, haha. Good find, though!
