This was super helpful. We got a new rig and the rear slide got stuck about 4 inches out. We were able to reset the controller thanks to your video and it’s fixed. Sigh😅 Thank you for posting this!

Good stuff guys! I've been told holding the extend / retract button depressed for a few seconds after the room comes to a stop on extend and retract cycles will help keep motors in sync.

That’s right. We recommend a quick 1-2-3 count going both directions.

Hey guys, I’m glad I stumbled across your video. You called us a reset procedure but page 26 of the manual says it’s a manual override procedure and specifies to re-sync the motors after you do this. Just saying I’m gonna try your procedure as I’m having issues with my slide. Going out one side seems to lead the other. I’ve tried to re-sync procedure prior to trying yours and it didn’t work. Hopefully your process will fix my issue. Thanks for the informative video.

PS an added note. I was always told never lubricate the tracks, but your video says to lubricate them. I ordered some of the lube you specified and once I get the slide out, I’m gonna lubricate it. Thanks for that info. Greatly appreciated.

Yes this is my understanding too. If you actuate the system while in this override mode, the controller will power both motors and ignore any feedback. In my case this gets everything working. Otherwise, both my motors fail due to error 8 and I suspect my system is just overloaded with weight and/or lack of lubrication (going to lube it!) as it would be very unusual to have both motors (or cables) fail for the same reason. I have an enormous slideout and its possible its also just poorly designed/specified.

You have the slides out when you did this. Should they be in or out? Also, when camping i always level before I let the slides out, so they shouldn't bind up right? Also I'm a little confused, because I believe schwintek in their online videos says not to lube the tracks. Only the motor.

The controller for our brand new 2023 Ibex 20mbh is under our slide. Right under the dinette and the only way to get to this is if I were able to shrink down my head to about 4-1/2” and slither under to the middle of slide. So frustrating since we can’t get the slide to go out - it only goes out crooked on one side and and then stops. How did forest river expect people to do this reset after every trip? 😤 This is happening our first day when we brought it home from a dealership 10 hours away.

We try to place our in a convenient location for that reason.

Does it make any difference if the slide is currently in or out?

Use a ptfe lubricant only. It’s a Teflon dry lubricant, never use oil or grease.

The manufacturer actually uses dawn dish soap and water I’m sure dry lube would work good too tho

That's just an emergency override, that's not a reset. That bypasses the magnetic counter in the motors and sends full power. This should only be done if your slide is stuck out. This could also cause damage to your slide if you're not paying attention.

How could it cause damage to the slide?
