The Combination of Van Morrison and The Chieftains have reunited Ireland in a musical union that will be appreciated by people for many years to come. Van's unique voice and singing style captivated me. It's very sad that so many of the Chieftains are no longer with us.
The beauty of this brings tears of joy tinged with some sadness to a rock hard man's eyes. Playing the drums and singing is extremely hard to do but it is no problem for Van the Man
One of the best modern poets............Love his music and style...Original as hell, always has been always will be.....And one of the greatest soul singers ever to live!

For general erudition, this is a very old traditional air , Buachil an Eirne, with Van penning groovy lyrics, and Paddy Maloney an execellent arrangement as usual.
I was lucky enough to take my daugther Cristie on a lovely summer's eve to see Van the Man at Hampton Court in London. Great music but no audience empathy. The best true story I heard was his interchange with Michael Jackson who approached Van before some save the World group sing and in a squeeky voice asked Who are you? Van answered i am Van fuckin Morrison who the fuck are you?
As a Welshman, having this song, which unites us is a wonderful thing, particularly now, in a time where unity is fragementing. #Wales #Ireland #Scotland #IsleOfMan #Brittany
Respect to you Van, from the Celtic Pagans of Eire. We are one Celtic tribe and the best people in the world, both sides of the invisible border, not created by the Celtic children of Eire. Respect to the Celtic Ray. Blessings to all. Slainte agus Saoirse
I see Van Morrison as very attractive, has such a friendly face, is very likeable/sociable, I very much like the way he uses his voice, handles/holds himself. I like that he takes on a variety of music styles. He like many of us, has his boundaries...and it is OK with me that he lives within them. I very much LIKE him.
I can understand your Catalan heart. Do not ever give up the old Celtic paths of justice and freedom my cousins of blood. Saoirse from the Celts of Eire.

I don't like the music of Sir Van Morrison, I Love it! I saw him 3 Times live in concerts. But believe me: in stage He is Like a Bad and autistic Guy. Not a real pleasure to see his behaviour. Some decades ago I Met one of His musicians from THEM in a pub in my hometown and he said something in this way too: "He is a brilliant musician but an asshole, nothing more to say."
@@kelderecgraugnom8201 I've seen him twice and lucky enough to say he even had a laugh with the crowd however many share your sentiment. It's an interesting comment regarding autism as it wasn't really a thing when he was young. Perhaps he is autist8c, undiagnosed?
@TheReverendJohnson , they are Uhliann Pipes,"Elbow pipes", similar to bagpipes but the air is fed in via bellows worked by the elbow and the chanter has 9 holes.Very difficult to play and very expensive to buy! ''Of Van Morrison I hesitate to speak. The fellow is scarcely human. His merest belch is as lovely as the Song of the Sirens. He sweats beauty just as naturally as a Christian sweats hate.''
Van is known to be "temperamental," to say the least... He gives an angry type of glance, around 3:45 point, I am not sure if it is simply, thoughtful reflection; or, if a note or miscue by he or someone else upset him?
