I mean, edgeworth quite literally only ever refers to him in those games as "him" or "the man who saved me" (which btw cmon how is this not gay). So she probably doesn't know particularly who he refers to

im so happy to see the fandom still active even if this video was a year ago. my professor showed me this game and explained how important it was to her and her wife. seeing such a obvious pairing, it was hard finding genuinely good representation back then but they grasped at what little straw they had. it was the same with good omens and all the gay pulp novels, there is something so fascinating finding a strong healthy relationship grow like miles and phoenix even if it won't be cannon ever.
No, it's cannon. Like confirmed by the creators multiple times cannon.
Same with Good Omens, thats just a little more nuanced because, physically speaking, the main characters are *literally* genderless (and will change apprentice on a whim, regardless of gender); But still cannontically in love (and I think married?)
So it's not gay specifically, but it's definitely not straight. (or cis, for that matter)

I don't know about Ace Attorney, but I DO know that Neil Gaiman has confirmed that, while Crowley and Aziraphale are genderless and therefore not TECHNICALLY gay, they ARE in love. So, payoff, finally. :)

As for his sexuality...its not really canon but rather was something the game creators “sort of” came up with (after the success of their 1st game, they looked to “the internet” for inspiration for their next game, which at the time was limited & there they discovered the “fandom” involving Phoenix & Edgeworth. Oh, and they had a Fujoshi as one of the game developers)
It didn’t help that Nintendo Power (YES, Nintendo Power I’m not kidding) had an article on “Gaming Couples” Where Phoenix & Edgeworth we’re in 16th place!
