    I have an '11, and I really enjoy it. Also alot cheaper than a Harley. It's been Ivaned, with V&H. Also put in bluetooth stereo w/6.5 speakers. Took it to South Dakota and Wyoming, and it performed fantastic.

    Hey great review!....I bought the 2018 version...love the bike although I have upgraded it slightly.....namely- Ivan's Flash and K&N filter......I rode to Sturgis this past August ...almost 3000 miles total for the ride....I love this bike!......also I did install a backrest......a necessary evil for a long ride.......anyway, great bike.....I got mine for 13,999......3 year warranty.......never misses a beat......I look forward to many long rides.....thanks for the review!

    A good, honest review. You're right about the hydraulic clutch, must are either on or off, with very little "friction zone", it's more of a friction point.
    I was lucky enough to ride one of these when they first came out, on a racetrack, no less. It was part of an International Motorcycle Instructor's conference. I flogged that thing way harder than most people on the street likely would, and it handled that just fine. It was quite stable in big, fast sweeping corners. What surprised me though was it's low-speed abilities. There was a very low speed course set up with pylons at the end of each lap, and the bike just dodged through it with no effort at all & very little clutch slippage required.
    I've been looking at many things for next spring.
    The Electra Glide Standard & the Road King are right up there. But for the money, the Vaquero is pretty tough to beat.

  • @RevJay_Rides
    @RevJay_Rides 3 ปีที่แล้ว +4

    That’s a pretty bike. They ride great. If somebody is looking for a bagger on a budget, this bike will do everything you need with style and comfort for much less than you’ll pay for the competition.

    I bought a 21' this year (brand new, 1mi on it when delivered). I like it, and I rode a 79' KZ1000 ST for the most part over the past 16yrs. I've added a couple things to it, maybe adding a couple more things, nothing major. That windshield didn't come w/my bike, one of the things I'm tempted to change.

  • @garageoutlaw2089
    @garageoutlaw2089 4 ปีที่แล้ว +5

    I rode harleys for years. The last one really treated me badly. After going through many bikes I had a choice to make, this or a road glide. The vaquero was 13k brand new. 0 miles, the road glide was 31k out the door. 0 miles. I bought the vaquero, Initially I was super not happy, the bike ran so hot, stalled, and felt neutered, no power. After reading up on Ivan tune, I did that with intake and exhaust. Holy shit, this bike is better than anything I’ve ever owned. It’s so good, that I even test road the new indian challenger with permission to buy, I’m still on the vaquero, and for many more years.

      I put a piece of 2x6 under the kick stand when parked in the garage. Easier to pick up & takes up a little less space. The voyager trunk weighs 30 lbs (just guessing) then put a passenger on & it's a real handful to pick up off the side stand, about all I can handle at 70 1/2.

    Hello. I have a small TH-cam channel where I show motorcycles, my rides, comparisons and news. Here in Brazil, it is speculated that the Kawasaki Vulcan 1700 Vaquero 2021 may be launched, based on Harley Davidson's new policy of increasing prices and reducing the offer of models. I would like to show this bike on the channel, but there is no official video for Kawasaki USA or other officials. In this way, I would like your authorization to show some parts of your video, (just a few minutes) as where you can see the panel and the bike's visual. Of course, the source would be cited in video and in the video description. I wait, thank you very much and congratulations on the channel.

    • @RabidHedgehog
      @RabidHedgehog  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Well since I ended up with the Flying Fort.... The reason I like the Fort better is that it rides like no other touring bike out there in its class. It acts more like a sport tourer and almost darn near a sport bike with the lean angles in the upper 30 degrees and such. All other bikes in this class would be dragging hard parts at this point. I will also say that the MGX has more modern features such as the power modes and traction control systems and the best darn brakes on a larger bike. Do not get me wrong the Vulcan is a great bike, better wind protection, more storage. But performance is still where I am at and the Fort just sang a lovely song to me when I took it out.

      In more of a since it is like the Chieftain with the radio and fairing and such vs. the Springfield, which is a simple windshield that can be removed. Also it is like the Challenger with a fixed fairing on the front end that does not move. But it is a very nice riding machine with plenty of pep and comfort and offers a ton of bang for buck value. It would not be a bad choice, but ride them all and find the one that fits your ride.

      That is correct! Great for balancing, swimming, and kicking things, but terrible for finding a spot on a floorboard or peg.

    I wear size 15 so it should be good for me also although some people say the footboards are to small? How smooth is the suspension compared to a Indian Springfield that you rode?

    • @RabidHedgehog
      @RabidHedgehog  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I would say the Springfield has the edge on the suspension and the footboard should not be an issue if you know where the shifter is. My feet fit it okay with room to spare, but that little bit of extra length might bump the rear shifter. Might.

      Thanks I ride a Suzuki c50 and at 6ft 5 300 lbs it looks a little small for me but I love American cars trucks bikes and I hate to admit the Suzuki is a great bike with 4.1 inches of suspension travel it is smooth. Never gives me any problems not fast but enough power. Me and my wife well me lol want a touring bike but we are on a budget I mean I am on a budget not a self inflicted one. It seems the Kawasaki gives you a lot of bang for the buck especially the voyager. I like a smooth ride is it night or day difference or just a marginal one . I really want the Springfield but 8 grand is a lot of money to me.@@RabidHedgehog

      @@RabidHedgehog I'm thinking about getting one or the Kawasaki Concourse 1400. My concern with the Vaquero is that it's not fast enough on the highway. This was the case with my 65 hp kawy Mean streak. But I'm going to test drive the Vaquero before I commit. I like the looks and the techs on it. I have a Harley Sportster and it's a much better bike than my mean streak 1600. And it raised my awareness of the Harley and what all the races were about. The Sportster is fast but too small for me. So I'm watching your videos and others on the Vaquero for info

      Well this is not my motorcycle it was a used one I took out. It was already there. I do not use cell phone holders or anything on my personal machines. The only thing that might be mounted extra is the controls for the action cams to get them off my arm like in this video.

    Is this is a good cheaper option to a Indian? Enjoy your videos did you get a chance to ride the voyager ? I can not decide between that bike and a Springfield which in Canada is eight grand more.

    • @RabidHedgehog
      @RabidHedgehog  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I have not had a chance on the Voyager just yet. I would assume it would be close to the Vaquero as it would only add the top case and a bit of handling dynamic change, no different in riding between the Street Glide and Ultra Classic.
