Always go against the hairline grain slight with a 2. Slowly go down between the 2 closed and the 1 “open” - meaning a 1-1/2. Taking it down slowly and “slightly” between the 2 closed and 1-1/2 is best. Do not go lower. Each head is different but that’s the safe zone guard. Also, don’t go back too far in the hairline when doing so. Go about it in a flicker type of way. Remember, this is only to debulk the hairline so you can have a much sharper hairline when shaping up.
