This was the very first concert I've ever attended, they were the opening band for KISS when I was just 12 years old back in 1981-82!! My older brother got the tickets for my 12th Birthday!!! EPIC!!
@@AKLMUSIC419 Funny you mention Brad...I saw Night Ranger at Buffalo Run sometime in 2022, and Brad couldn't come that night, and they still did a great job. Nothing against Brad, just relating that I didn't get to see Brad that time.
He gave instant credibility to Night Ranger amongst the hard rock fans. At the beginning, it was the band that featured that guy who filled in for Randy.
I was 15 when this came out I I can tell you that the 80’s were absolutely, unquestionably without a doubt the best time to be young and fight anyone who disagrees!!!😉
Great song and band! I saw them open for Van Halen back in the 80’s and they were fantastic! Still listen to their first album today! Sister Christian was their biggest and best hit!
The keyboard player was in Montrose and with Sammy Hagar in the 70s. Quite the assemblage of musicians to make this band. And we of course know Jack Blades went on to Damn Yankees
Great band of talented musicians. Jack Blades on bass/lead vocals, Kelly Keagy drums/ lead vocals, Brad Gillis guitar (no shirt) , Jeff Watson guitar and Alan “Fitz” Gerald keyboards. The band was made around Jack & Kelly as the vocalist because they felt bassist & drummers are always replaced in band Lol. Brad & Jeff are major guitar slingers and of course Alan is a great keyboardist. Great rabbit hole. Enjoy.
I have seen so many concerts throughout the years, and as far as bands with energy, Night Ranger always gives the best. Even to this day, they still have so much energy and charisma in their concerts. Their double guitar solos, Jack Blades and is stage presence, and such a diversity of music, with Blades and the drummer, Keagy splitting vocals. If you don't get to see them live, I suggest getting their 40th anniversary DVD in Chicago. They're so humble too. I actually met Brad Gillis after the concert and he talked to me for a while and I even got some pics with him. They are just so underrated.
Jack Blades. And Blades and Shaw put our 2 CDs under the name Shaw/Blades. One of their songs My Hallucination would briefly be played in the movie Tommy Boy.
it was thier debut LP...Took off like a rocket and made 'em headliners overnight ( Of course, being that much fun to watch live couldn't have hurt, and they toured a LOT) Props to the roadies for keeping thier wires from getting tangled up when the guitarists were doing all that running around !!
While all of the kicks are mostly gone these days Night Ranger still put on a helluva show. That MASSIVE back catalog of songs guarantees a great time!
This band had a huge hit with a ballad, and from that point forward, their record company tried to steer them towards making more ballads, and less hard Rock. That was unfortunately what led to their breakup in 1989. They got back together a few years later, and still together to this day. If you see them live, they're so heavy, it's hard to believe their biggest hit was a love song. Nowadays, they do what they want, and don't listen to the record company. Check out " comfort me" from 2017, sounds like Foo Fighters
Duel guitarists Brad Gillis and very under rated Jeff Watson. Two different styles. Both can shred. They have a decent catalogue to check out. Bassist Jack Blades went on to join Damn Yankees , which you all have reviewed.
He's spot-on about proper kicking technique. One time Chuck Norris kicked a pebble from the foot instead of the knee and now we have a moon. True story.
For more of this level, try Loverboy "Queen of the Broken Hearts", Dramarama "Anything, Anything" also 80s. At a lower speed, Winger "Headed for a Heartbreak", Scritti Politti "Perfect Way", or Vitamin Z "Every Time that I See You" and "Burning Flame" 2 videos with the same storyline.
Brad Gillis played guitar with Ozzy for a while after Randy Rhodes was killed and was in fact on live album that Ozzy put out. Night ranger was definitely an underrated band for their time both Jack Blades the bass player and the drummer or lead singers in the band. they recently reformed and was on tour but I don’t know if all the original members was in the band I know Brad Gillis was but the other guitar player I don’t think was but I cannot remember the other guitar players name.
Jeff Watson- he left the band many years ago. Brad Gillis,Jack Blades and Kelly Keagy are still there. Still a killer band and their more recent 4 albums are great!
I have seen them many times, always a great concert. Still sound and rock the same. MORE OF THEM PLEASE!
That double guitar solo is one of the best guitar work I've ever heard

Brad was the guy who helped Ozzy Osborne finish the tour right after Randy Rhoads passed RIP Randy. ❤
And did an amazing job on Speak of the Devil.

Yeah Gillis is a beast man .

I wish guys still looked like that.

Just saw them about 2yrs ago. Not all original members but you wouldn’t know. They put on a hell of a show. They a lot of great hits in the 80s
This sounds incredible live.
This song was a big hit along with the whole album Is dawn patrol I was 22 years old when this was a big hit
It's not mentioned a lot, but Jack Blades may have had the best mullet of the 80s.
The guy singing and playing bass went on to form Damn Yankees with Tommy Shaw and Ted Nugent!
Jack Blades. And Blades and Shaw put our 2 CDs under the name Shaw/Blades. One of their songs My Hallucination would briefly be played in the movie Tommy Boy.
Have you EVER seen a bass player with the energy of lead Jack Blades!! He’s phenomenal!!

A crowd pleasing show for sure.

The 80’s rock band is still my favorite ❤️🔥🔥🔥
Jack still dances around the stage like that, to this day, 60+ years old.
BOP!
Brad Gillis the lead guitarist was the guy that replaced Randy Rhodes when he passed.

Another killer Marin County Band….I grew up in the right place at the right time.
Still playing now

Easily my favorite Night Ranger song !
Ozzy can't hold a Bong to these Guys!!!!!!!!!!!!!
He's spot-on about proper kicking technique. One time Chuck Norris kicked a pebble from the foot instead of the knee and now we have a moon. True story.
Try "You Can Still Rock In America"
NR is awesome, new stuff too
Brad Gillis to over for Randy after Randy was killed. Done an excellent job for Ozzy.
If you like Night Ranger Color Of Your Smile !
The drummer looks like Will Ferrall LOL
I know this is late and might not get seen.. but Four in the Mornin, Sentimental Street, and Sister Christian... from the same band
For kicks try The Kings "The Beat Goes On/Switching to Glide"
