I vote this blog the best Somali blog and the best chef. And I love the tour of Somalian landscape, a bit of history and music. And the teaching methodology is the best I've seen thus far in many cooking shows as well as the filming and editing. I hope you guys have a facebook page and a restaurant!
Very well done on this video. I am a chef who makes these for my Somalian customers and I use a variation of this same method for folding. I am glad to see people like you teaching others about this wonderful dish and how to properly make the shells!

Jzk for making these videos. Do you fry these before freezing ?or do you freeze them, and when you are ready take the uncooked samosa out and put it straight into the fryer? Thank you!

How long do I fry this for? Or is it mostly just eyeballing it? I'm frying some right now, and I'm going to eye it and pull them out when they're brownish looking.
Brighty Moon because if you cook the onion with the meat, the taste and the onions practically are invisible in taste. Also, if you don't let the meat cool down before you add the onion, it will sweat them and create additional water; making your sambusa soggy inside even after frying. Yes, you can use yellow, if you like. The red just has a nicer taste than yellow, yellow is kinda milder.

Thank you very much. Since you are so interested in cooking, we are sure you will do good.
Why do you add onion later? can´t you cook the onion in beginnig eith the ground beef if I use yeloow onion?
Don't cook the onions! It's much tastier to just add the onions raw to the meat, because they will cook when you fry it.
Brighty Moon because if you cook the onion with the meat, the taste and the onions practically are invisible in taste. Also, if you don't let the meat cool down before you add the onion, it will sweat them and create additional water; making your sambusa soggy inside even after frying.
