  • “Is material life really just a temporary mirage of superficiality? Or is spiritual life really just a fantasy-lovers hallucination? Which of the two is more real and more important to dedicate our efforts to?”
This is the life lesson we’ll learn from the 24th star of Vedic Astrology: Uttara Bhādrapadā, Above the Sacrificial Altar

great! I would say "selfishness" instead of "egotism" to make it more practical.

Yes humility is sexy And one should never try to get closer nd if possible be friends with people who think too highly of themselves. Though camera story or business story is a different lane coz their you have to show a degree of assertion with force at times even grandiose to attract nd lure in people not give them a chance to second guess your idea. Yet there r people you wouldn't want to do anything with, for coz u just can't make urselves even like them anymore when that humility and generosity has ggone

My sun placement. Venus Revati. Uttarashada moon. I resonate very much w this. Many times I have said, “I just want to be spiritual” have dreams of sorta disappearing, don’t care about popularity, just wanting to travel talk w mystics/yogis in India who could care less about “social media” and give up what I do bc I see way beyond it and the material/superficial it doesn’t phase me. I know the material doesn’t mean anything about a persons soul but feel i keep getting sucked back into the material out of survival/need and bc people I’m surrounded with by where I live and for my profession . The more it seems I’ve gone after “material success “ it seems the more deeper spiritual lessons I go through. I’ve wanted to do TH-cam and have some really creative ideas but at the same time I also don’t care for the fame and what that brings. Contradicting and complex feelings.

Exactly, my Moon is here and I don't understand how anyone ever came to separating spiritual from material. The essence of every material thing is spirit. It is impossible to separate, they are two aspects of one same thing. That is mostly the reason I can't talk to people on this topic, because most of them are separating them.
About gravity, it is also inseparable from anti-gravity. Kundalini as a spiritual force pulls the energy upwards. People walk on their two legs. Evolution has pulled us upwards. Apples do fall from the tree due to gravity, but the tree was only able to grow tall due to anti-gravity, otherwise it would have grown underground.
Wonderful analysis, thank you for sharing you knowledge!

      hi! my rahu is here.
i find myself contemplating this now - only when our need is met, for material or dreams and desires, do we realize there really was nothing we really lacked that was fulfilled by these.
what you say about gravity and anti- is so true. and yet, it isn't apparent knowledge like gravity is a law.
another thing of this sort i've been thinking is this - how much of what we see is light and how much is the reflected surface? do we even know? just the angle at which light hits the surface changes what we see, this is as simple as parallax error. and yet we talk in science about concretes.
what we are seeking is at the level of awareness and how we are approaching it is through the level of attention; the difference between attention and awareness is where we are now.

I think soaking in water to extract essence is about experiencing something overtime in order to be transformed, to become wiser. A plant can be soaked in water to dissolve the outer layers, it can also be soaked to make a medicinal drink, like tea, in which case the plant bits are discarded and the mixture is consumed. Perhaps, this nakshatra is not about fixing dichotomies, but simply about gaining experience, a gradual building of wisdom, which should eventually fix the dichotomy, if such is present.

I agree. I think people are deceiving themselves by saying that "material things don't matter" when they are matter themselves. We need these things in order to create the world we live in. Like words, for example, that's the way we can materialize our thoughts and emotions!
My Moon is in Uttara Bhadrapada in the 5th house and It's so crazy how, before even knowing about vedic astrology, I've used the metaphore of "going to the depths of the ocean to find the biggest treasure" to describe my way of thinking and my vision of the world. There's really a deeper meaning for every thing that exists, the problem is that not everyone gets to see it.

The biggest revelation at this point that came to me about the balance of spiritual Vs material , is that the main reason i am using the escape my reality to seek "spiritual truth" , is the same reason that got me into this world of material reality in first place.

There is a positive relationship between matter and spirit in that we learn what is valuable and we protect it. Protectionism is our dharma, protecting the eternal atma with vedic knowledge. Mother protects the child, husband protects the wife, the vedas protect the whole creation. This life is a gift and we are learning how to reciprocate with the Giver of the gift.

Vic, I wish I could find words to express with accuracy how grateful we feel for your willingness to share your knowledge with us. I often come back to this particular video, for I sense that having both Rising and Moon in Uttara Bhadrapada (in the 12th house) allows me to navigate through spiritual realms with grace and joy... Without ever losing sight on the value of enduring tangible assets that are aimed at providing us with resources to fulfill our basic needs.
Being raised in a strictly Catholic environment in a small-town, middle class family in Southern Brazil, I have always been encouraged to further my understanding of the Bible and other Scriptures. When I was 17, I enrolled in a group of Biblical studies with a Franciscan monk who later taught us Latin. On that occasion, the monk exposed us to' the philosophy that supports the concept of "vanitas", that of which "sic transit Gloria mundi". All that brings glory to the world - namely, fame & prestige, power, wealth and other material (tangible) assets, they all shall pass, for they are transient in their nature. What a mind-blowing lesson! I made that a personal motto for life and I do feel it resonates with the very "enduring" (or fixed) nature of this nakshatra - i.e., to try as much to find a legacy of long-lasting impact beyond the materiality or appearances.

This is fascinating. I have rahu in Uttara Bhadrapada pada 1. I became heavily involved in studying Ayurveda years ago to help balance the body, mind, and spirit as a holistic concept. Soon it will be my nodal return, and I have found myself deepening these practices through a practitioner program and yoga studies. Now I am seeing that ayurveda and astrology are tools to help the devotee find union through observing and balancing the holistic connection between body, mind, and soul. Yes, my goal has been to find the pure essence of divinity, many think that is crazy and accuse me of being hyper spiritual, but I think they simply do not know of the holistic nature of these concepts. On the other hand more spiritual side, they do not like that I mention that my body healed through mantra, that is not the point, secondary, etc, so there is definitely a dichotomy to navigate.

That in actual fact it is all spiritual, that material illusion, maya exists only in the mind. Thank you for such a clear, beautiful explanation of how to see and utilise everything spiritually 🙏

Also how you mentioned consecrating/sanctifying things. I tend to recite Quran over objects I own or do certain things like cleansing with water for the intention of purifying materialistic objects for my presence/receiving the most pure benefit from it and receiving the most pure reminder of truth from it. Even things that can seem insignificant to others as well. There’s also a habit of attaching the spiritual to every material thing I own. They all have a soul I feel like. And purpose. And intention to be used. Also I tend to name items of mine. Even objects I don’t own, when I am going to gift someone something or create something for someone I am usually in a state of whudu (ritual purity, cleansing process performed with water, it is also said that ones sins also wash off wall performing whudu) or at least have read some Quran or made some prayer over that specific thing and to make sure that the persons soul benefits from it. That’s my intention with whatever material things I have been blessed with. To benefit truth from them. Also it’s funny the other day I was collecting/digging up certain stones/small plant pieces from a very important place energetically for me.

Thank you for your great explanation!!! I have rahu in this nakshatra and I have had dreams in which I reach the sea, a river or a lake by different motor vehicles. Have even dreamed of travelling underwater by tunnels using my car, haha. After I wake up, I notice in what state was the vehicle I used in the dream. The state of the vehicles mostly reflects my self in the waking life... So yes, the material may pose as a symbol of the spiritual, and also the spiritual can infuse the material with meaning. No way we can live without one or the other!

WOW! Thank you for this one, Vic!! this is the second time i am watching this (UB) - i've been getting increasingly out of touch, escaping and the more i become out of touch, the more i become agitated, rudderless; the more difficult it is to ground in myself.
your THIS ONE video has made me understand my Uttarabhadra (Rahu) - Uttaraphalguni (Ketu) AXIS.
my escapism was in spirituality to not see the mess that's become of my life - BECAUSE i thought the whole problem was in the gap between ME/ANOTHER (uttaraphalguni).
the significance of this becomes clearer with my Mula ascendant and Ardra Bhrigu bindu axis - i feel alienated, different from people because i feel NOT SEEN, NOT HEARD AND HENCE NOT IMPORTANT. hence the dichotomy of CHOOSING myself over and above others which frustrates my ketu.
so if creation was ONLY ME without anyone else, i'd be NOTHING because it is only IN RELATION TO others that i am. that's the whole essence of prakriti and purusha, dark hole and galaxies. ME//OTHERS are both sides of the same experience. I AM EXPERIENCING MYSELF THROUGH OTHERS.
similarly, spirituality and material success aren't mutually exclusive. in fact most of the grounded, practicing karma yogis are highly successful in their respective fields because they see it in the correct way.

You say: "Only through seeing and experiencing the superficial forms, that is the way to access spiritual reality." It is not true. It is enough to ask "Who am I?" with genuine curiosity, without referring to past, future or any idea or thought, is how you access the spiritual reality in which everything occurs, including your image of your individual self. But to see the world as the expression of the 'I, found seeing all', in these things, is how you might maintain it. Here and now is the key. But the initial access to the spiritual reality, is questioning ones identifications from the heart, not as an intellectual battle. Namaste :)

Would it lessen the effect or cancel it altogether? Or mean something altogether different? And, do we look at nakshatras in divisional charts? I have my natal Sun, Mars and Saturn here. For as long as I can remember I’ve had an unending fascination (albeit fearful) with deep water, and I was obsessed with the story of the ill-fated Titanic as a child. It still fascinates me how all of that opulence and majesty was obliterated by the “quiet power” of the sea water and how effortlessly it revealed how inconsequential luxury and wealth is. I’ve had visceral imagery in my head of floating bodies juxtaposed amidst fine porcelain dishes in the sunken dining hall, all contained within that familiar, throbbing quiet one finds underwater. Frightening, sure-but to the Rudra in us all, a fascinating prompt for deeper inquiry. If everything “out there” is so distinctly subject to condition and apt to be destroyed or to change, what is it that is without condition, indestructable and unchanging (dare I say, unsinkable)? When you “soak” matter with your permeating awareness, you eventually discover its essence and sole truth: that what remains at its end is That which perceives it.

Interesting. Old friend had Venus combust here and Pisces Mercury Purva Bhadrapada (friends and relationships) here and they are schizophrenic without knowing it or admitting to it. Always hearing and seeing spirits, aliends, demons, angelsa and whatnot. Strong cognitive symptoms and speech impediment and inability to learn. Indeed seeming psychopathic with the way they deal with friends as they have little care of the impact imposed on others with Shatabisha rising. Deep reactions to being rejected and just laughing inappropriate and enjoying others pain at times and just laughing seemingly totally clueless and indeed _out of touch._ Seems like a great nakshatra but perhaps not from Venus. Of course there is more to the chart but I do not reveal the details. But she lives in this imaginary world and thinks it is real but it is clearly just a mental illness, as there is no ability to upkeep normal life, hygiene etc. She was crazy about essential oils (extracting from plants). I also know another person with Venus here and it is indeed psychopathic with abuse of others and no care for people who care for them.

When moon is in U.Palguni. it is aspecting U. Bhadrapadha? Can we derive meaning out of moon aspecting a nakshatra in the opposite house ?

In my chart picture of how the planets meet with the nakshatras, is not the same with, how it is written in the overview. For example the moon is between Uttara Bhâdrapadâ and purva Bhâdrapâda but more in Uttara Bhadrapada. However it is analyzed as purva bhadarapada. What should I consider now ?

my girlfriend's 7th lord is in this nakshatra. im a punarvasu ascendant so it makes me wonder whether theres some natural resonance between the two nakshatras. its nice to think abt in terms of watering(nourishing) as a common theme. i remember your talk about punarvasu resuscitating old 'dry' things. thanks vic, its nice to contemplate

In your previous video on this nakshatra, you said that all planets do well here as it is about stability. I have mars in this nakshatra. Can you say it is about becoming a wise and spiritual warrior who gets to know the truth of this world ?

    • @VicDiCaraAstrology
      @VicDiCaraAstrology  5 ปีที่แล้ว

are you sure i said that? Its not stability but the quest to find something stable and eternal. Theres a difference.

Vic DiCara's Astrology Agreed. But you said this is a ‘sthira’ nakshatra and that all planets whether benefic or malefic do well here. Anyway, can you elaborate a bit more on Mars in this nakshatra
