Thank you all for following along and supporting me with your cheers and prayers on this big year of thru-hiking. It means the world to me. I am hiking this year in memory of my daughter who passed 20 years ago and also raising awareness for osteoporosis, something I deal with, hoping to inspire those who can to get out there and Live Life. I'm enjoying your videos, and appreciate your sense of humor. I've backpacked the AT in GA on numerous occasions in ALL weather. I can't anymore due to major heart surgery. So, I've got fond memories.
At the moment, I walk with a walker on the driveway for at least 3/4 of a mile. That's pretty good considering, on 2/7. I could barely stand and walk three steps. Next week, I'm reacquainting myself with my trusty partner - my hiking stick (a former tulip poplar tree.). I used it on the AT and Philmont. It's 5'2" and an inch in diameter. I've used it to stun a rattlesnake on the AT in 1988. Hopefully, next month, I can hike in the woods. Keep going. I enjoy your sense of humor!!!
I look forward to your videos. Glad it's going well overall and that you're listening to your body and doing what's best for you. Thank you for giving me this experience through your eyes. I've been inspired to work toward my own thru-hike of the AT when the time is right.❤
You're a pretty fast hiker, despite your modesty. So editor of Thru Hiker Magazine. I looked it up, but looked like it isn't in place yet. I did see your short announcing it. Much success with that endeavor! Take care.
Actually it is in place…it hasn’t been launched yet…it’s been the works for 3 years and is being launched this fall….i talk about that launch often. Thank you for your compliment.
Imagine walking through there 300 years ago. The trees were huge, little undergrowth to interupt long views. Chestnut trees 8 feet wide. Most forests today are scrawny remnants.

So glad you have those memories. Are you able to at least take little walks in the woods? Seems that it would be healing.❤

Love Rice Field! 😎
Good morning
👍
That was a tree stand for deer hunting. It appears that the trail went through private property.
Pick that pace up.
Lol
