@@williamswanfeld8950 My grandfather and father had life long careers in Jai-Alai. He kept a lot of old tapes and discs from back then. I do professional video and film work for a living so I was able to capture, upscale, and color correct these old videos
WHEN JAI-ALAI WAS AT IT'S BEST. BASQUE, SPAIN NATIONALS, & THE BEST AMERICAN, PLAYERS WITH REGULATION COURTS, GENUINE PELOTA'S. THE GLORY DAYS WITH FRONTONS LIKE MIAMI, DANIA, HARTFORD, MILFORD, BRIIDGEPORT, TAMPA.
This is Jack, I worked there 20 years. Jesus was ranked in top 5 . But Miami excellent. I was ballboy, then basketmaker, played a few months pro, then judged on court for few years. Ty
MFR. While in school, I´d watch the sport live with friends in Miami or Tampa. We would place a few bets depending on the players´ resume and/or teams experience on-schedule -- lost and won a few games. Nonetheless, the Basque sport and competition is unique, special and accelarating. I was crazy enough to purchase a Cesta and Pelota in Tampa and played with a local team in Miami. During our first game with veterans, that Pelota almost knocked my head-off! My nickname then was ¨El Shuzkan¨ white jersey and blue pants No. 18 printed in black. My first instructor and later coach was Alfredo Enrique Monsanto de Sosa from Madrid, Spain. Don Alfredo´s boys became professionals in Florida and elsewhere overseas. Later, I joined the USAF. Today, I still own that same Cesta in my private studio with his hand signature ¨Shuz, my best aprentice, thank you for the memories we shared together.¨
Man those were the days, Melbourne Daytona Jai Alai Alumni, sure do miss the Excitement, Daytona Jai Alai Season was during Speed Weeks Bike Week and Spring Break and dont forget the Dog Track Across the street,Great Video Thanks
Asis was not a champion doubles player, but in singles he had that awesome right side rebote that had 200 Lbs behind it! No way anyone human could take this guy in singles, and when he wanted to leave early, he would serve all winners in a row bouncing the ball over their heads, which I think later got outlawed. Jai alai will never grow old if we pass all these great vids to the next generation.
Thanks for posting this. I saw this partido live at Tampa Jai-Alai.
Lucky you Larry 4 sure
the greatest ball sport game ever
Fastest sure, but not the greatest.

That rebote is scoring most of the points in this partido.
Que lindo recuerdo. Volví a vivir la emoción de aquellas noches en el Miami Jai Alai
Good times
Where is Elorrio?
The Miami team was a lock..no contest here.
I think that it was 2-2 going into this partido but Asis was unstoppable this evening
I guess lock ain't what it used to be. Miami lost twice and Tampa had home cancha advantage. I'd give both teams their due.
Asis was one big front courter.
@@chop3625 My favorite player at Miami when I lived there. He was so awesome in singles. I always felt he tried too hard in doubles and make miscues.
Given Zulaika’s strong reverse feeding Asis’s great rebote, I agree.
Where is Jamon Serrano?
Jamin Serrano is a brand name of a Spanish Iberian ham
