It's crazy how rapidly this line is getting better and better, especially with so many quick releases. It's times like these I wish I was a big enough G.I. Joe fan to justify buy all of them!
I still haven't purchased any because I do vintage oring Joes legends and black series so ...man. my wallets gonna feel that black emptiness even more because, I do like half the of these figures. I'm sure I'll get some soon .😎
The more subdued colours of Wave 2 really make me hope we get ''reissues'' (more like alternate versions) of Duke, Roadblock, etc. because I really love how Wave 2 is looking, colours-wise.
I am really digging the new Gi Joe classified figures and Gung ho looks really nice. Hopefully they will slow down their release of the waves and allow us collectors a chance to purchase them. Hasbro is doing a great job with this line and i hope I'll be able to get most of the figures on the Gi Joe classified line
Heck yeah! So much more now seems possible, given all the activity happening with GI Joe, from the game, to the movie, and 2 toylines. Bring on some new shows!
Man I absolutely love your opening skits, they just keep getting better. Gung-Ho looks great too, Roadblock actually ended up being my favorite from wave one so reusing that base body is okay with me. That shotgun basically being a Halo Reach shotty is just a bonus, I can give those to the new Spartan figures coming out soon.
Aaaaah hahahahaaa THAT INTRO!!! Oh man, Robo you are the absolute best...I'd love to see a compilation of all of your short skits with obscure characters
This line honestly makes me so excited to expand my Joe ranks. It's like you said, they're very unique, but also very clearly from the same line/group. It's the same feeling I get with my X-Men Legends - everyone has their own look/uniform, but there are elements like the X itself that ties them together.
I'm loving the look of this Gung Ho, he might be my most anticipated from wave 2. It really reminds me of something we might have seen back in the 2010 Pursuit of Cobra line. Very cool.
Thank you for such a great review!!! I just got my Gung Ho in the mail, and I was so frustrated that his hat didn’t seem to fit at all...it was even loose in the package, and I had already heard rumblings, as it were, that there were issues with it. I was so happy when I saw this review and realized that the hat fits fine if you place it just right. Also, I’m glad there’s hope for getting that grenade launcher in his hands...I just knew it wasn’t gonna be possible without a hair-drier. (lol) And finally, thanks for showing me how to properly snap the guns on his backpack...I had tried it out, and they didn’t want to seem to stay on very well, until you pointed out that the slots on the backpack were meant for specific guns. Anyway, thanks for making a figure I already loved even better by showing me it didn’t have the issues I thought it did!!!
Man.... I love this line and these figures! Love the Chuck Lidell look and can't wait to get my hands on this guy!! Fingers crossed for Baroness tomorrow morning, this guy, and hopefully another trooper and a red ninja! Great review as always Robo! Love the channel!
Haha.. that intro!! Great review and yes know what you mean about parts moving around on the figure(s).. I've since glued a lot (not all) of my down. I know that's not something everyone would want to do but it sure does improve the playability of the figures as you don't have to continually readjust them. Anyhow, love the reviews!
Scarlett and Roadblock were the biggest offenders there. Duke wasn't bad in that regard. In fact he's my favorite from wave 1, which I know is not a common opinion among fans.
@@michaeljfoley1 I mean, Scarlett never had a realistic begin with. Orange leotard, boots, gloves with blue tights for a supposed elite military unit? Which is why modern interpretations like IDW and this line redid her design but still be recognizable.
No offense but Gung-Ho Is a Marine so his hat is wrong, however Valaverse to the rescue. Yes Bobby Valla has made the correct hat and has included it with his weapons pack b. Thought you might want that info and you might want to pass that along.

Jim Shooter (Marvel's EIC) approached Hama about the Joe project due to Hama's military background, and the Fury concept was adapted for the project. Shooter suggested to Hasbro that "G.I. Hasbro was initially uncertain about making villain toys, believing this would not sell. Marvel would also suggest the inclusion of female Joes in the toyline, and to include them with the vehicles (as Hasbro again worried they would not sell on their own)."

Yeah, Gung-ho is usually depicted with the Marine's 8 point utility cover/hat, as opposed to the one on this figure, which looks more an Army PC (patrol cap). The tattoo was probably changed due to the Eagle Globe and Anchor being trademarked by the US Marine Corps.
Just found wave 1 at my local Walmart about a week ago. I was tempted to pick up the entire wave but walked away with just snake eyes. I grew up on gi joe but just cannot allow myself to start collecting another line. I can’t. I just won’t. Then again... alright serious question Robo, what are some personal guidelines you use to keep yourself in check? I try to stick to 95% MCU Marvel Legends only (I know, I’m barely a real collector at that point) and MOST of the time I will only buy comic legends on super clearance (50% off or less). The only comic legend I’ve paid full price for in a long time is the newest vintage spidey.
I attempt to stick to a monthly budget, but that doesn't always work. I used to collect one line at a time but with so much awesome stuff that's long forgotten too. With Joes, I've actually cut back on Legends to make room both in the budget and on the shelf. I'm only picking up X-type characters that I really really want, not everything out there. I'm also almost at the point where I'm happy with my Transformers except biggies like Bumblebee who is coming and Jazz who hasn't been announced yet, so that line isn't getting bought much. Star Wars will always be my main, until they stop doing 6 inch. It's tough though.
Everyone over-exaggerates how crazy the color choices were in wave 1. I can ride the new future of tone-back colors but I'll keeping my Duke with his gold.
