1:05 With the way GeoGuessr scoring works, aren't you much better off committing to one of the 3 options than to hedge among the three? He got 4483 points. Had he gone Flinders Island, he might have lost 100-150 points, right? So, by committing, he has a ⅓ chance of gaining 500 points, and a ⅔ chance of losing, say, 150 points. 1/3 * 500 - 2/3 * 150 = +66⅔ points on average by committing...and that's assuming it's a full 150 extra points he'd lose. Beyond that, since the goal is to be top 3 among 20-30 players, which is even more reason to take risks and commit. Hedging might make sense if it's the 5th round and he's confident he's ahead by a few hundred points due to great earlier rounds. That's what using my noggin tells me.
@@BendyDH it's a situation that occurs all the time. In a duel, if you're significantly ahead or consider yourself much stronger than your opponent, then hedging might make some sense. Your opponent would be forced to take the risker plays to make up ground in points or skill. In an extreme case, it could be something like the final Round 10 in the World Cup. If one player is ahead by 2000 points with a 5.5x multiplier and it was a perfect 3-way dice roll, they would want to hedge. The player behind, would need to commit, because if both hedged, the player in the lead would always win. If the behind player commits correctly, they win. Otherwise, the other two-thirds of the time, the player who was ahead and hedged would win. The one-in-three chance the behind player gets by committing is better than the 0% chance if he hedged. As for Rainbolt's daily challenges, the fewer winning spots there are relative to the playing field and the stronger the skill level of the field, the more risk one should take to try to get one of those spots. For example, his incorrect American Samoa guess might have been worth the risk. Coming in 4th and 20th score the same points. High variance play is called for. All of this is with the caveat that I've never actually played GeoGuessr. I do, however, enjoy games and game theory. I also recognize that Rainbolt has outside variables to consider, like generating compelling content.
The tell in the 7:20 Lisbon round was the water heater on the right. In Brazil you will never see heating or these types of fire alarm on the ceiling too
Been watching you daily and decided to spent a few hours grinding the indoor map. I got the 10 country streak and finally also managed to get rank 2 points (idk if 1 is cheated game but after checking it seems pretty sus). I learned all exit signs in the world, language and other random meta like fire extinguisher types while grinding for that score 😂
One nice thing about your videos is you don't have background music so i can listen to music in the background and still enjoy and comprehend your video at the same time
7:32 that's the Rainbow Warrior 3.0, owned and operated by Greenpeace. The ship's port of registry is Amsterdam, but it did a US tour in 2013. Hence the unusual number of bicycles I guess.
I really appreciate that you put two indoor links regardless, to not spoil if you miss on the first. ...But did you play that second one? What the hell, that was the most insane seed yet.
Apparently. I did the same as Rainbolt though. On a boat? wtf. Bikes? Okay, no idea what it could be, I'll go Amsterdam. Same reaction he had as well...
I saw there was two indoor links, and after also going sao paulo and netherlands coast on the last two, i was like "how TF did rainbolt get these???". Especially that last one, why was there a european green exit arrow??
11 minute video so you already know today is not the day.
he sent 2 links tho
Or he got 10 Vancouver’s in a row
07:12 Buildings in Brazil are rarely heated and I don't think I've ever seen that type of radiator there before. Just an FYI for next time!
oh hey i watch ur videos its cool seeing u here
also the red exit sign
You know his mind is shocked when the title is a dot

Shocked bout what
He went dot when he started this intro a while back.

Love the analysis, but I really don’t think Rainbolt is thinking THAT hard about this in a given game. A good thought exercise though!
🐐

The tell in the 7:20 Lisbon round was the water heater on the right. In Brazil you will never see heating or these types of fire alarm on the ceiling too
it's so validating to know that rainbolt also struggles with getting lost in brainrot and just locks into ig reels for a while
We're all addicted 😭
as a brazillian i locked in brazil and then noticed the smoke detector and the radiator
Found this video while researching tampons.
sounds insane but pretty sure even when searching, TH-cam still sprinkles in recommended videos irrelevant to your search
i c what u did there ....
"." such a wonderful, inspiring phrase, almost made me cry 😭
Never thought i would see rainbolt say “.”

bro even has an accent pillow now. he's really making it guys
I like how a title with a single period makes me stop watching a different video and come here immediately
One nice thing about your videos is you don't have background music so i can listen to music in the background and still enjoy and comprehend your video at the same time
5:11 I had to delete ig that shit was wasting all my time lmao
When you apologized for the Portugal, Brazil 50/50 gone wrong it was so heartfelt 😂😂
Don't say sorry Rainbolt, just don't do it again.

That Seattle moment was so funny 5:37
I really appreciate that you put two indoor links regardless, to not spoil if you miss on the first.
...But did you play that second one? What the hell, that was the most insane seed yet.
The second indoor link is so ridicolously hard, the best score is 15k by the mapper
I legit got 250ish on that map, it's actually so hard
Bro sent the second indoor challenge just to torture us for no reason lol
Pro tip you could’ve gotten the usa indoor boat round by noticing the goofy ah loudspeaker thing that is only in america
The best title on TH-cam. Wish I could've come up with that one
Big moves putting 2 indoor challenge links so i can play rhe rest of them. Thank you mr rainbolt.
1:21 so beatifulllllllllllllllll 😭

Biking infrastructure sucks so terribly in America. Some of us do still do it, though.
Apparently. I did the same as Rainbolt though. On a boat? wtf. Bikes? Okay, no idea what it could be, I'll go Amsterdam. Same reaction he had as well...
08:10 it even says .nl on that boat top left, lol
counterargument: ,
Bro still hasn't resized his cursor for his newer, bigger monitor?
It's not the size, the cursor disappears completely
The problem is from OBS studio not from the monitor I get it too
the day when you click Obama and it actually turns out to be Obama is going to be generational
I'm fucking dumb because I didn't get the Trollsteigen road. I drove on that exact road 2 years ago.
Why are the biking? In the US? 😹😹😹
5:48 you heard him people 🗣️
absolute demonic smile at 5:14
I loved the Rainbolt watching IG reels cam
3:02 I hear that pretty often
3:04 that's what she said
7:08 im from brazil myself and all the clues just make it a 50/50, not ur fault being 100% honest

8:53 :-(
7:50 that hose is clearly an US hose noob
i need your reels feed 😂
It’s finally bedtime!!!
First round he's had before in another video I think
6:25 Did he technically miss this one? Is he on the highway or did he guess the sea?
alright its 5:49am, time to go to bed.
I will still do the 2nd indoor challenge before watching the video, fool me once...
Wat, Seattle now!? 5:37
Could u find where every shot is taken from in a daily dose of internet video
I saw there was two indoor links, and after also going sao paulo and netherlands coast on the last two, i was like "how TF did rainbolt get these???". Especially that last one, why was there a european green exit arrow??

You should look at the exit signs for each country. It seems like a lot of the indoor world locations have exit signs.
1:08 “33.3333 repeating!” 🤓🤓
1:21 That's crazy looking
The Tas hedge 😂😂😂😂
solution: delete instagram and tiktok
i got a thai language ad before this video
look at the radiator on the wall in the Portuguese one
What's the 2nd indoor world link?
apropos of nothing, i miss my favorite segment :(
1:39 no one has ever said this about norway before
rainbolt try not to go obama on every japan challenge
bro's losing it more and more each video
how have you still not gotten the cursor problem fixed my guy!
5:56 lol I got the same location and insta sent France and ended up going 4/5 on indoor world
Wtf no one wears those suits/robes in France. They're typical Senegalese clothes
5:36 close call lmao
Rainbolt, find my childhood home. You wont…
Ig you can say he was on the dot with that one *gets shot for bad pun*
i think these title names are a cry for help.
Brazil doesn’t have heaters on the walls.
This is a certified . Moment!
Hey rainbolt are you gonna post today it’s getting late
