These videos always reach a point where frankly, Tom is just showing off. Those are my favorite parts.

Yes, I agree completely. Tom demonstrates relatively simple concepts and then ends up playing something very cool and more complex. I wish he would teach some of the more complex stuff that he shows off.

@@jhn1987 That's an interesting observation, Actually, when I do the more complex things, it's often actually not any more complex, it's just FASTER. I'm doing the simple things, but FASTER, with more dynamics. It goes to show how important the simple things are!

Astounding insights even from the outset. That conceptualization of blues being differentiated from classical music by its possible use of concurrent major and minor rather than transitional major and minor was just utterly revelatory. Thank you.

A lot of great ideas in here. I took the Complete Musician Essential Course and I would highly recommend the class. It is great.

Thankyou for your kind comments. Yes - emotion and feeling are so important in music. It's of the highest value :)

Well, thank you, having suffered from a stroke last year, and losing the ability to play guitar do you too, not having a left hand? I thought I'd focus on the piano with my right hand, so this gives me something to work on and practice with.

Excellent, as usual. But a little bit different this time. Thanks for telling us to forget about theory and to... trust ourselves, let the fingers move, find our own versions, our own music. That's the essence of the blues... and isn't the "blues" the essence of everything ? Cheers from Paris ;-)

I've always included flat-7 in the major scale.
