Just installed and tested the new acuity 4-way short shifter. I gotta say it’s amazing in every way as you explained it in the video. It’s so smooth and direct. It literally has no play unlike the hybrid racing v3, which I previously owned. I would definitely recommend this to all dc5 owners! 🔥👌🙌
Definitely like the 2 way because it leaves less room for failure. My HR V2 doesn’t clamp on enough and has some play. Having the shifter as one solid piece mitigates that issue. Might have to get one in the future.
I understand exactly what you are talking about. I can assure you the 4 way adjustable version will not fail. Look closely, the rod isn’t being clamped, it goes through it. Crazy engineering went into that piece alone. These shifters went through VERY intensive testing. 200+ lbs of force during shifts for about 400,000 cycles lol you’ll be good I promise. Either shifter is great so you can’t go wrong anyways hehe
@@DC5RParts I appreciate the feedback! I was contemplating getting the v3 from HR because it looks more promising than the v2. But honestly, I don’t mind for that swivel piece just as long as it feels notchy and tight. So the 2 way is probably gonna be my best option. I’ve been waiting for acuity to make one for our chassis and I’m impressed just from what I see on your review.
Trust me, I am too. They took it to another level. It’s a very solid product. I am in love with it. Inch by inch, detail by detail. They did not miss anything. If it isn’t perfected they won’t put it out. It’s a mentality many brands so have, it’s refreshing to see it reflect in a physical product. You’ll love it. I’ll be uploading these shifters tonight on the website 👍🏼
I am curious about this as well. Currently on the market for a shifter and was sold on Hybrid Racing but now I don't know lol. I know both will be great though
I’ve heard that the 4 way is a lot better than the v3. it’s a shorter though than v3. v3 has every little play where acuity has no play. The people I’ve heard from were raving about it, they said they’re both amazing shifters but acuity is superior.
Purchased the shifter in hopes to fix shifting problems in my kswap em2. What kind of shift cables are you running with your shifter? Does cable brand matter with shifter?
THe only thing I would have concern with is the Throw adjustment screw. Somone mentioned this on FB to me in the DC5 forum and he makes a good point. Hybrid has 3 set adjustments that are bolt in(or with a pin), rather than a screw that may come loose and loosen over time.
I actually have all these shifters, for DC5 and FK8 versions. That concern did not pop up for me as they are using extremely secured methods. It’s not a simple adjustment bolt sitting on a piece of metal. It’s sitting on a slider which clamps down when torqued down. Improper torquing will result on any type of bolt to come loose. I put all these shifters to the test, on street and the track and not once they have come lose on me. If I were you I wouldn’t listen too much into user errors or FB forum speculation. These engineers at Acuity know what they are doing lol even Honda Racing use their parts ;)

@@DC5RParts good to know, thanks for the feedback.
@@hanselwhitman2973 I got a response from an email a while ago. To answer your question, yes… you can fit the center console with the shift boot on. The 4 way fits proper with the boot. Just keep in mind that raising the rod higher will increase the distance between the boot collar and the bottom of the shift knob. but if you are planning on making it short you will be good. It looks OEM.
Just bought one and installed it. The best praise I can give it that ktuned race shifter is pure hot garbage compared to this. Acuity is so smooth and direct. I love the fact that it bolts to a K-tuned plate tho because i already had one. The acuity plate looks better and is lighter.
@@unique.collective second comment is just as weak as the first. OEM shifter is definitely not even close to one engineered to be better. If it wasn't like that no body would ever buy one. ;)
@@DC5RParts the engineers at Honda design and build each part to function with one another to preform at the highest caliber. Don’t be fooled by some fancy colours and cheap gimmicks. Unique collective you don't consider the fact that manufacturers have budgets in mind. They try to cut down on price wherever possible. Also, not to mention the 18 years of technological advancement since the rsx was released... Aftermarket parts aim to improve performance and function, especially if they are high end like acuity, hybrid racing, ktuned etc

How do you add a shift boot to this?
Compare between the Hybrid Racing V.3 vs the acuity shifter, which one do like better as im in the market for a new shifter
Get the acuity.
How does it compare against hybrid short shifter v3?

Your center console looks different. I must have missed that install. What is that part, who makes it, and where did you get it?
We sell it, It’s a Type R console.
With the 4 way adjustable, can you fit the center console with the shift boot on, with no clearance issues?
I had the same question lol

@@prestonthongvilay2376 I was thinking of getting the 2 way tho…
@@hanselwhitman2973 You’ll still be fine, the two way isn’t that long of a rod.
🔥 looks pretty sharp on those shifts might have to try it out myself
Yes you do! It's next level for sure!
Which shifter goes higher? The 2 way or 4 way?
Idk
The real question 4 way or 2 way better an perfer
You think this shifter is better than the Ktuned Shifter?Really wanna make a decision here on which one to get
Ktuned can’t sit in the same table as Acuity lol no such thing. Acuity shifter is ages ahead.
Put a acuity 4 way in my dc5 was worth every dollar... Acuity with hybrid detent spring can't go wrong

Could you send me the 2 way one hahaha, I was looking into these shifters they are really awesome, I just did a DC5 Type R swap into my 2005 RSX.
me toooo
Of course! lol They are available at DC5RParts.com
does it fits on JDM Honda Integra DC5r?
Yes, no difference between LHD and RHD
Why you cut the scene before you finish talking😅
That’s all you got out of the whole video 😂
Have you considered raffling off the 2-way? Great video. As always I enjoy the content you produce. 👍🏽
