The Bread of Life was born in the house of bread! The Bible is full of interesting details because God is concerned with the little details as well. Many times God did not speak in the Bible for years. I never thought about it being a time of famine. When He spoke again, the people were happy. It’s a shame that He has to take away from us in order for us to be thankful and want what He is saying and doing. Merry Christmas to you and Mrs. Debbie!
I have to preach as a lay preacher on these verses. It seems to me that you have expanded these verses without using it as a hanger to preach the whole message Amos as some of the others have done. There are secular predictions now that there will be a worldwide food shortage which will mostly affect the poorer countries and when that happens it’s the children that suffer. I wonder what affects the famine of the word of God has on the young ? Also it seems to me that it’s also a sower went out to sow but the ground is so dry and hard that he does not sew and what he does sow the birds pick up as in the path. So no harvest, no bread, the sower goes henceforth to find better ground to sow? Thanks for your teaching.
