    Your work reminds me of a late friend that was a talented seamstress. She had many pieces of a pattern laying on the floor and knew exactly how they fit together without marking them. At the very beginning of your video, where you made the way mold reminded me that artists can see a project in many pieces from many angles before it is completed. It is like an artist that paints from four ends of a canvas and everything meets in the middle with perfect harmony and fittings so well!

    Skyler, your skills as a fine jeweler are right on the money brother! I love the engraving on your pieces, I would love to see a video of how you engrave your pieces. Like how to layout engraving and see the entire process. Skyler again you knocked this one out of the park!!! He’s gonna love it! AWESOME job My friend!

    I'm from düsseldorf germany, and skylers youtube videos impressed and inspired me this year to make my own coin rings. It's so crazy that somebody from other side of the world who I've never talked to before is still one of my best teachers. Now i make very nice coin rings but i'm looking foward to make anti black finger inlays and spinning rings. But in this video is something i don't really understand at the moment. What happend with the wax which was inside the form? Can somebody explain that process?
    Best wishes from düsseldorf germany to skyler and everybody else... peace

    • @CoinRingsfromTheMint
      @CoinRingsfromTheMint  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks! The wax was just there to make the mold. When I put it in the oven, it hardens the mold and melts all the wax out . That space left behind is filled with metal.

    I'm about to purchase my first metal lathe and I'm clueless. I'm curious did you take a machining class, read books how did you learn the basics? I got into the jewelry gig after watching one of your older coin ring videos and I'm all in. The lathe will make much more possible. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thank you so much for doing what you do. Oh yeah how can I learn more about classes of yours?

    • @CoinRingsfromTheMint
      @CoinRingsfromTheMint  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I just bought a large and started in :) two days later I made my first spinner video. Over time I’ve figured it out a bunch better. TH-cam videos help a ton. As son as my shop is built I’ll start setting up classes but I’m not expecting that for a little while yet. Keep an eye on my Instagram or Facebook pages for updates on them. I have links to them in the description box.

    You finally mirror polished a coin! It's about time. By the end of the video, I had to brace myself for that beautiful coin ring to go into the dirty coin juice. However, this one was polished, man is this a beautiful ring, one of my favorite coin rings you have made, no dirty coin juice. Beautiful ring.
    Could you make a ring just like this with a 1875 seated half dollar with red, white and blue stones between "Half Dol." and "United States of America" and 18k yellow gold for the outside and the same engraving on the sides of the gold, and a mirror polish on everything?

    that is in deed a nice ring and all, but using reichsmark coins...? ^^'
    i mean, it is luckily not a coin from the 30s, but the words "Deutsches Reich" have still and nonetheless quite a bad connotation to, dont they?

      It’s just saying German empire. It’s no different than United States. What would you like them to call their country on their coins?
