I enjoyed looking at your work in progress, It made me feel cheerful and good about my own work. I live and work in Cornwall in England and I go to my studio every day. My work is very different from the paintings I did in London. I am reacting to my new surroundings which at times are overwhelming , and I am finding the language I need to use.

As soon as I saw the opening shot I thought to myself "the landscape w/ the patches of snow and big sky look familiar", that's because I live in New Mexico and used to spend time in Durango, Wolf Creek, and Pogosa Springs. Still need to visit Chaco Canyon. Talk about Canyon and visit I looked up the Tansey Contemporary Gallery on Canyon road where it says you show your work. If you still show there I will get to see your work in person next time I'm in Santa Fe. I also took the time to look on Google images and your body of work is very impressive. I feel like I'm looking at jazz or a stream your style is so free flowing and fluid, very refreshing and inspiring. The painting achieves a certain perspective by blurring and mixing light and gray towards the bottom. The dark masses predominate in the foreground and blend with clearings in the background. to recommend my favorite artists Pierre-Auguste Renoir, Frida Kahlo, Roberto Matta Gabino amaya cacho and Pablo Picasso.

Being an artist I believe she is using real piece of charcoal to draw those initial lines. On top of it she is using a mixing medium; a matte or gloss acrylic medium. I hope this helps! I often use this trick with pastel and gloss mixing medium to finish my paintings!
