Thank you for the upload! I set it to try a solo run as a personal challenge. I reached this point with all other Lv 1 party members dead and no matter how many different buffs I applied, i couldn't keep up with his physical hits. I even tried stacking protect with a protect drink, and blink with invis and a speed drink, and still i couldn't keep up. But i felt it should be possible for having gotten this far without much trouble. Thanks to your upload, I think i can take him now. And say mission complete at last. 😁😄💪
Moral of the story here is black mage is pointless as fug in this game when you think about it. I mean the black mage’s only real pro is that it can target multiple enemies and that’s covered by the gauntlet and mage’s staff. That and temper but ninja and red mage can learn that spell and still contribute more to the party.
@@hunterrhoades1813 Black Mages X2 is in the speed run comps because of aforementioned multi targeting and they hit harder than Red Mage, plus have more charges. You barrel through most bosses with magic spam until Tiamat/Marilith. They're totally fine as a class. Only thing is they're less desirable for is postgame but Pixel Remaster doesn't have that

Nope but the PS4 PS5 Switch CONSOLE version added in a 4x exp cheat which for a SOLO RED mage run is a MUST the game added in 4x GIL in order to AFFORD all those spells as well. The PS4 PS5 Switch port also has a no encounters cheat which for solo red mage is worthless BEFORE he hits lv 99.
Not really. You can walk or run by pressing L3 or R3 (don't remember which) but it won't help with grinding. The other stick will turn encounters off. But in the console version, you can use the boosts which can be found in the menus

Even at max level, Chaos is an RNG fest, so don't feel too discouraged if you fail a couple of times

Nah, I just thought it'd be neat to do a solo run with just a Red Mage. I don't think I have the patience for a solo White Mage run
