@@Chino196 That's what I thought also but he gave an interview with a guitar mag about a year or so ago and was on stage with cheap trick about the same time - not playing though. He said he had overcame some of the issues that had kept him from playing... always can hope!
He got the surgery and is back to the point where he can play without any pain at all for very long periods of time. He's OCD and basically had a guitar in his hands from an hour or so after he woke up to the time he would basically pass out from exhaustion. I heard an interview from a year ago where he said he is trying to re-learn/remember how he used to play the WL material and his only comment was "that shit is HARD to play and it's my own god damned stuff. Yeah tough to get right." but this is a good sign that he is working towards being at the level of a world class player again. So he hasn't said anything recently but if all continues to go well and decides he is ready we see him peek from behind the curtains at some point in the next 3-5 years because knowing him (I've never met the man but I worked with a guitar player from Brooklyn for a goodly number of years. Obsessed with, and would only accept, damn near or actual perfection from his own playing he would ease up a bit when talking to the rest of us in the band but we knew what was expected of us especially in the studio.) so look for a Vito comeback but lets be cool about it and not expect what happened back 35 years ago to suddenly happen again. Let's just be grateful he wants to again share the gift he has been given with us mere mortals. Remember, his hands may not work the same way they did back in the but the beauty of music is there some other worldly melodies, hooks, bridges, etc floating around in that beautiful mind of his and nothing could e ver take those away. He might just have to to get this music out of his mind into an arrange-able set of real tones/notes.. Vito we love you man no matter what happens with the fucking guitar. Get out here and be showered with love and respect for the music itself. No judgement with regards to your playing. No comparisons as no one is the same person they were 35 yearsy ago. We just want to stt you happy and healthy.
One of my favorite solos from one of my favorite guitar players from the era of hair metal. Back then, even I had hair. The fact that that solo was supposedly his one and only take is mindblowing
This whole thing is great. My favorite parts are the chorus (1:42) and of course the solo (2:15). Hearing that solo isolated is just astonishing. There's a haunting quality about it. Something truly special happened the day he compose that. It's as if the spirit of beauty itself descended upon him. Goosebumps _every time I hear it._
Never realized how prominent the twelve string was throughout the entire song, i always thought the prechourses were all on electric with phaser effects but this shows an interesting side to the song
I built a playlist of nothing but isolated Vito and put it on loop cuz I can honestly listen to his compositions all day and love it. Hands on loan from God. Let me introduce you to a virtuoso guitar player/musician by the name of Vito.
Flawless incredible Vitto is awesome,,,I wish he would pick up his guitar again,,,he's taking care of his family,,like they took care of him,,,commendable unselfish of him,,,I wish he would loan me his fingers for a few weeks lol
@@robertfrederick4714 Vito didn't clone EVH not even close. Like everyone they have their influences, which Vito like to use bits from Especially Eddie and Randy, but he also had a style all his own.
Vito took the EVH DNA and created his own music with it. It's so close to EVH but it's its own thing at the same time. I agree with everyone who says Vito was one of the greats of the 80s. Vito is like a parallel universe EVH were he is a little less angry and a little more poetic.
@@johncash5940well ur wrong. Totally different styles of guitar playing other than the tapping. What. Every guitar player who taps is now an Eddie clone? Give me a break
I used to think that till I started listening to some of their live stuff from the 80's on TH-cam......They were all impressive live musicians. All of their vocals were equally impressive. Check it out for yourself. You'll think differently.
Am i the only one waiting for vito to pick up his guitar one more time...
No I'm with ya would love to see him back
no you are Not the only one
He wont, lives on Staten Island not far from me. It’s long over, and it’s super sad, love Vito what a talent.

Mona Lisa of guitar solos. It will sound perfect and divine in 500 yrs
Very well stated. That solo is without a doubt in a class by itself.
I think this was THE guitar solo of the 80s
Certainly for those who knew.
First takes are usually the magic stone. This is one of them.
I really wish Vito would come back. He was fantastic, a real treasure.

He was a cut above the rest in the 80's.
A TRUE MASTERPIECE!!!!! THE BEST SOLO GUITAR!!!!! WAIT... VITO FOREVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Still one of my favorite solos of all time. 🎸😎🤘
Baddest guitar solo, melodic, smooth, flashy, soulful,,, Damn u VB,,lol

A true masterpiece, notice how Vito fills all the space with Amazing chops with no gaps, always beautiful melodies! 🔥
Vito is great! Extremely underrated!

A perfect solo.
That solo was done in one take, can you imagine lol.
VITO was a beast on guitar
One of my favorite guitarist
Beautiful playing, and that solo is just inspired

This guitar work deserved such better lyric work. This is way better than the actual song

Dude put his damn soul in that guitar
Those are compositions not guitar parts, you are spot on.
Not the isolated tracks. It would be very cool to hear the tracks isolated from the masters tho.
thank you for the video
nice
Vetto was bad azz bro from 1987
Sounds smashed to hell and back with a compressor.
I am hearing lots of evh in his playing.... 😊
Yep he cloned him
As so many others
Millions never made it out of their bedroom
Cudos to him!!!

Nop, you're not!!! 😊😊😊
Seems like flash over substance. He surely was great and talented.....but no "feel"...just mechanical execution. Noteworthy...but not anything else.
You are utterly clueless. Go see an ear doctor
Youre literally tone deaf if you dont think that solo has any feel. This is one of the most beauitful guitar solos ever written.
@@theYuGiOhseasonzeroguy Tone and feel are different characteristics. I’m glad you disagree.
@metricdeep8856 let's agree to disagree. However, let me just say that vito is considered one of the most melodic guitar players of the 80s.
Yeah......I 'd rather hear two bends and five notes played over 16 bars......🙄
