It's funny - I used to work in radio and I've done a lot of experimentation with internet radio and it's wild how many programs there are for auto scheduling and programming with included breaks, imaging, and bumpers, and yet for video there are very few elegant solutions. I like your dedication to getting it to sound as good as possible, so great to see these old radios still kicking.
There was someone on reddit in the raspberry pi subreddit that had put together a "TV station" with scheduled shows and everything. I can't remember his name, but I think he even uploaded a video to youtube about it.
Add a proper, 3-metre antenna with 50-ohm impedance matching coil, and then ground your TH5 to an 8-foot copper ground stake in the ground and your transmitter would offer surprisingly good coverage. StereoTool is excellent and I'm delighted you are one of many Part-15 hobby broadcasters who do understand the need for proper audio processing. I have a Part-15 compliant hobby station here on 1610 that I launched in 2017 and this little station has grown over the years to rival even the biggest AM stations in my area, with a variety of musical entertainment programming including news, local weather and traffic reports, live call-in talk shows and educational shows, 24/7. The rolloff of the low frequencies was probably intentional because this was used by realtors to provide sales information and only requires voice frequencies.
I miss KY58 too, I still remember the day I heard that it went of the air back in January of 2004 and it got replaced by 102.3 Clear fm (now Kiss FM it kind of sucks now)
What frustrated me the most is I remember when they were playing their "test" playlist on FM before 102.3 went live. It was great stuff, like the Moody Blues and Fleetwood Mac. Then 102.3 launched and it was awful.
@@probnotstech After TSN 1290 shut down and was playing test music I actually kind of wish we got what was in the stock music rather than the comedy format (and apparently the sports won't be gone for now since Funny 1290 is going to be broadcasting Winnipeg Ice games). To be honest I'd rather take the stuff that aired during Clear fm's first year over most music on the radio now. CJNU is going to have to make due for me until a Lite Music station enters Winnipeg frequencies again

I have a stack of maybe 7 or 10 Talking House I want to feed with an internet Stream in small clusters out of Reach of My Ringmaster I an just about to move up on a Rhon Tower on the Hill above the small lake lot I am now living on. On a Nice Hill to hit the 80 homes in my Lake Community and an Camp and RV "Resort" down on the Lake. I have done nothing inside these units...yet. I have wrapped a 2 Inch Plastic Pipe with about 8 inches of a Coated Bell Wire that I could tap at first about ten raps apart the run of the "Tuning Coil" this then allowed the In Box Talking House Tuner to find a place to account for a Longer External run of Coax to a 10 foot Copper Pipe on a mettle Barn Roof, as Ground. Then I would work one wrap up or down testing the sound of the Signal, as the Talking House would hold it's Green Light as these miner tuning adjustments were tested. I will need to find a radio Guy if I want to use your plans to do the Full upgrade. But out of the Box the Stock radio Transmitter for now with my tuning coil and Higher Outside Antenna well grounded and hopefully on a Mettle Roof and reach several Homes that shadowed and in valleys near me with my Signal feed internet streamed to a Volunteers location. Question: 1. I know an Extremer would be a rock solid choice with the address held and will resume ext-streaming, Pulling the signal off the Internet after a power outage. I have and would like to use old cell phones at the other locations, I can connect with Free App, ANY DESK. to dial the web address if lose of power has been restored but do not want the Volunteer to have reboot and fiddle with any settings to stream my internet signal;. Do you have any thoughts as to what to use instead of the Purpose Built Extremer Boxes ? 2. Do you build and sell a board with your mods on it with the needed other on Talking House parts to replace them and with a printed instructions sheet. I could give to my Ham Buddy maybe who is more able to follow your instructions than me. I am more suited for the Combination of the Cheap used gear form garage sales and ebay so far I am the doing well collecting some of the gear cheaply. Thank you for any info you can provide. Don
I might go with a 1 watt one for the top band it comes with a 4.5-meter aerial I can run it in my garden but it doesn't say how far it will go from 1000 to 1600 my FM doesn't go far due to being to built up. I would play podcast on mine or youtube videos with talking on and the FM for my music.
I take it that stereo tools isn't free is it ? 5:49 you can just get a 90 degree 3.5mm audio cable that way it'll go off to one side or the other instead of coming straight out.
Not much, maybe 20-30ft radius of clear signal, and 50ft total with a portable radio. It covers my property and that's about it, which is perfect for me.
@@probnotstech thanks for the answer. Alot of video's show mods for many different model numbers and I want to try the low end mod. I like my talking house as it offers more range than any legal part 15 fm transmitter and I like to sit outside and listen to my antique transistor radios. Some are only AM anyhow and I only get angry talk shows or sports in my area.
