After watching any one of your videos, I always come away learning something new. You're a great teacher, Wendy, and you always explain the steps needed to complete one of your lovely snowy scenes. I appreciate the time you put into uploading and editing your videos. Thank you, Wendy!
Thank you very much. It is always rewarding to have such lovely feedback. I really enjoy putting the videos together….I like to work out the paintings and am a bit techy so also enjoy the editing part….that I also find creative. Gives me a focus and keeps my brain in gear…..I hope 😀💕
I just came across this tutorial and since it has been unseasonably warm for the last two months, LoLs, I will give this tutorial a try. I have only been painting in watercolor for about a year. I painted in oils on canvas for about 10 years or more but decided to give watercolor a try, which I have been wanting to do for a long time but always heard that it is a hard medium to pick up. I saw some other great things you have painted and will give those a try as well. Thank you so much for taking the time to demonstrate how you do things.
Thank you for the feedback....yes watercolour is very different and I do hope my channel will be a help . Enjoy your painting....I love painting snow .
Thank you for the feedback....yes those colours work well for a snow scene. Cobalt and burnt sienna I sometimes use as well with maybe a touch of light red in the sky 🙂
I love your use of a limited palette, makes everything so cohesive and easy on the eye. Thank you for your wonderful narration and explanation of what you are doing.
Thankyou so much again Wendy - really appreciate you sharing your talent and experience with such clarity and patience. Looking forward to trying this! 😀
Thank you.....I appreciate the feedback. I have been teaching face to face for many years and think I understand a lot of the problems learners face.....well we are all learners 😀
Happy New Year, Wendy! Lovely scene and I learned so much. Creating distance and reflections are challenging for me and with this tutorial I felt I achieved the idea of them ! One step forward anyway. Thank you so much for sharing your time and talent!
Thank you....it is always good when people tell me they have learned something from my videos. All the best to you and continue to enjoy your painting 😀
New subscriber here. Have just found your channel and now enjoying all your videos back to back! Love this painting and inspired to have a go. Many thanks.
Yes….I use both and find them equally good. There is a colour difference on some….for eg the light red and the indigo so it is really what you prefer. If you are starting out in watercolour especially the Cotman are excellent value.
I’m unable to locate your line drawings I tried the link and it took me to your site but only the most recent videos are posted there. I tried to do a search but it came back with no results. Any help would be greatly appreciated thank you
There is a link to my site but also a link above it to downloads. The template has been named snowy river….not stream and it is there. If you are still having problems do let me know as it may be an issue I need to deal with.
I have looked into this and closed captions/subtitles are automatically available from youtube. There is an icon to click on at the base of the video...just to the left of the settings gear icon. They may not be 100percent accurate but I have looked at them and there should not be a problem understanding. Hope this helps.
Wendy, how lovely of you to take the time to provide this assistance to those who need it. Your watercolor work, both visual and audio delivery are very soothing and motivating. Your paintings seem to mirror the pleasant, kind soul of someone whose friendship I’d love to have. I just found your channel here and in a moment will hit the “subscribe” button to continue learning from you. My first artistic love is creating music and I feel that your paintings your communication thru the lessons have a very nice melody - no bells and whistles, just clear, pleasant communication. Thank you! Marie

Is this Bockingford hot press or cold press paper? It seems so smooth! I love this painting! Thank you! 😍
Thank you 😀 I always use cold press/not. This paper is probably Bockingford but I also use Saunders Waterford.
You said for painting the trees you are painting wet on wet, does that mean you brushed clear water onto just the trunks before adding color?
You could do that…I generally add a lighter colour first and the darker tones into that. …hope that helps 🙂
These are Cotman paints?
Have you used the 'Artists' watercolours from W&N, and if so, how do they compare in your opinion?
Yes….I use both and find them equally good. There is a colour difference on some….for eg the light red and the indigo so it is really what you prefer. If you are starting out in watercolour especially the Cotman are excellent value.
I was looking for the template for this. Is it available?
@@Sue-i3u No……very sorry
