    • @richbrownbass
      @richbrownbass  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Good ears, MrVentures! They do use this exact scale starting from the 5th. I can't remember the key right now but the line goes 5th-maj6-8ve-min3rd etc...before eventually coming down to the root. I love that tune. SO FONKEE!!!

    How about the "Sixth Sense Pentatonic Scale"
    Thanks for the suggestions. I figured your "funkiest note" would be the second or sixth when I saw your title.
    I've recognized the Power of the Sixth since I first heard that the Beatles song "She Loves You" ends on a VI chord. It's used very effectively in folk music, as well. However, these songs were all in major scales, so it's interesting to hear of the major sixth being used in a minor pentatonic.
    I'll give it a try, but I think my bandmates will accuse me of playing a note off-key.

    MINOR 6TH PENATONIC Nice video Brownstone I like they way you explained it. Blues Guitarist Robben who worked briefly with Miles Davis in 1986 and who was was also in the Saturday Night Live band with Marcus Miller in 1986. He is known for using this scale, the proper name for this scale is Minor 6th Pentatonic. If you type "Minor 6th Pentatonic " there are many videos on youtube about it not even mentioning Robben Ford.
    One of these is a funky bassline backing track called :
    "Minor 6th Pentatonic Lick/Tab + JamTrack"
    another video using this scale that features great bass playing solo is called:
    "NNBS The Minor 6 Pentatonic scale"
    A-C-D-E-F#.
    Also try the John Coltrane Pentatonic
    A-B-C-D-F#-
    and switch between this and the other
