The last agent that said when you’re with friends and compare stories, yours will be more exciting is absolutely correct. However, the downside is the jealousy that invariably comes with it. I’m a retired DSS agent of 27 years. I learned early the feelings friends, family and relatives have when you begin talking, even casually about what you have been doing, the places you have traveled to, and the people you have protected that others only read about in Newsweek magazine. I have protected Prince Charles (now King Charles), the Dali Lama, Yaseer Arafat, Tarelk Aziz (right hand man of Sadam Hussein) and other both good and not so good. You don’t get to choose, you are given an assignment and you carry it out. I have had friends actually accuse me of lying to them. Learned to try to keep the stories mundane, which they never are. You could be sent to conflict zones for various official reasons. Be ready.👍🇺🇸🇺🇸
I believe they have an study guide on their website, have you tried that one out? If not check out the study guide that secret service has on their website as well. It helps for the DSSAT as it has similar practice content as what is on the content of the DSSAT. Hope that helps! And good luck in the second try you got this!
I like the video layout. Looks cool! However, I am interested in pursuing my dream job in the U.S. Navy first. Sorry if I wasted your time. Thank you for your service. 🙂
Smart move journey: You can do your 4 years in the US Navy then use GI Bill to graduate with relevant 4 year bachelor degree then join DSS! You are young so much future is there ahead of you!
It's 2501 because foreign service has different job codes than civil service. 2501 is considered 1811 equivalent. DSS has some 1811 jobs but very few, and those spots usually get filled by older 2501 agents who don't want to go overseas anymore.

@@FederalUncovered thank you
Can military service but no degree replace the education requirement? I’m currently enrolled in school for CJ
No, having a degree is a hard requirement
Unfortunately no, you need a bachelors degree to be able to apply to this opportunity. You cannot replace that with job experience, hope that helps!

Sounds like a great job if you want to stays single and/or divorce
All depends in what you want to do in your life.

Is this for 1811, 2501 or both?
2501

Give it a few years. many agencies will start taking experience in replacement for a degree
Some agencies already do. Depends on the “experience.”
