- This video is the first part of my analysis of 'Excerpt from "The Prelude"' by William Wordsworth, which is part of the WJEC Eduqas English Literature Poetry Anthology.
TO MAKE IT REALLY CLEAR, THIS PART OF THE POEM IS THE ICE SKATING SCENE
Different GCSE exam boards look at different parts of the poem.
In this video, I cover the poem's context, give a brief overview of what is meant by 'Romanticism', and begin to analyse its language, imagery, and structure, which I hope should give you plenty of useful notes for your GCSE studies!

I know this was made like 4 years ago, and you're never gonna see this, but your ideas are literally grade 9 material, and, genuinely, thanks for making them.
I'm still around (sort of!) - thanks for the kind words 😊
I am coming to the end of this series, and i would just like to say that even though i have a wonderful english teacher, many of the things you mentioned are things i never heard being mentioned, or would ever have learnt without you! Lifesaver!
GOATed comment - not because you've given me some praise, but because you've acknowledged your teacher's efforts too! Glad to have supplemented their work with you 😊

Wordsworth once went on a family trip to the beach, but his wife and cousin both fell into the sea. He didn’t have any problems deciding which to save.
