I have never commented on a Lucas+Elizabeth video (I am a Nathan/Elizabeth fan) but I hope that I can express these thoughts with a genuine appreciation for how Lucas and Elizabeth fan’s feel. At the end of Season 8 N/E fans were asking very much the same questions (how could she choose L after the chemistry she showed with N?, etc). I actually stopped watching after season 8 mainly because I did not trust the writers any longer and it was a good jumping off point. After I heard rumblings that the story wasn’t over, I decided to watch it develop over the last 3 episodes of Season 10. It actually made me go back and watch all of 10 and then the last couple of episodes of Season 9 aat least. I have always loved Lucas. He is handsome and had an air of mystery about him. I wanted to believe he was a good guy and I absolutely love the character development for him the last two seasons. I like him even more. I find my heart breaking for him when Elizabeth told him she could not give him all of her heart. I thought it was horrible to tell him on the train platform just as he was leaving. It was horrible how she broke the news to Nathan that she was not choosing him. However, I have read people saying there was no chemistry between her and N; they never even had a real date. But see, for N fans, there was plenty of chemistry as they exchanged longing looks throughout everyday life situations and Elizabeth always seeking out N and seemed to have nervous excitement in his presence. She seemed more self-assured and “safe” in L’s presence as though she did not have to guard her feelings. She and N actually TALKED about real life issues, and smiled and helped each other out. These are the kind of old-school romance moments I think N fans were looking for (especially if they read the books about a teacher and a Mountie). I liked Lucas but he always seemed to be about winning the prize (like it was one of his card games). He came out the gate Suave, sure of himself, flirtatious. He knew how to get the girl. Plus the grandiose dates to bowl her over (he had plenty of money to do it). Even though I liked the character development I saw these last two seasons, he still uses his wealth to bowl her over with grand gestures. Not bad or poor character, but Elizabeth was never happy with that life. She left it to go to a frontier town. She told L’s mother that her life was Hope Valley and teaching the young people there. Though Lucas has grown to like and appreciate the town and people, he has not truly become a frontier person ( from my point of view). He has always had a restlessness for something more grand (not a bad thing, but the opposite of what Elizabeth is looking for). N is a frontier man. He fell in love with the person E was and began to let her know quite early on that she mattered to him (even without dating, but just sharing special moments which in some ways are better because on a date, you are putting your best foot forward for the time being). N fans said all along that this was a story about E conquering her fears. She feared her feelings for N because she did not want to go through that hurt again. For me, if E was more about enjoying the finer things in life, I absolutely would have loved Lucas for her because I love Lucas. The way E is written, I just could not see the choice she made. Anyway, I still don’t trust the writers Lol, Probably will not watch until they complete season 11, if then.
I am a Lucas fan I agree with you on some things but on the other hand not on everything.But we all have the right to our opinions & I respect yours.you said what you had to say without trashing Lucas fans .And I appreciate that ,wish everyone was like you. I’m not crazy about Nathan but when E told him she wasn’t in love with him I have to be honest It was very sad.
@@patriciak5702 Thank you for your comments. Now I can see what some fans see in Nathan & why they think him & Elizabeth might be good together. However, I see much more in the relationship between Elizabeth & Lucas, but the writers have pretty much made Sessions 7-9 meaningless. I can see why the writers wanted the engagement breakup, I just wish they had made it more believable. I didn't really care for Season 10 so right now I'm not looking forward to Season 11. I'm hoping I can watch the 1st episode of Season 11 to see where they go with Lucas, but for now, I look at Season 9 as the end of WCTH for me.
@@sharonnorton2708 Whereas, I love the idea of N/E, I agree that the writing could have been better for a turn around to Nathan. I think they did a similar thing when she chose Lucas. They spent so much time building up the tension between N/E then used the last 4 episodes or so drawing L/E closer in Season 8. In Season 9 & 10, they built up this romance with Lucas and Elizabeth and she suddenly breaks up and recognizes that she can’t give him her whole heart? Of course, for N/E fans there had been small signs( or wishful thinking) such as N not being able to give all to a relationship, N/E turning to one another still, N’s niece beginning to babysit Little Jack, etc. And of course, even when she ran away from N in season 8, she said that it would hurt too much if she lost him the way she lost Jack. We suspected all along that she was scared to allow herself to love him. But man, I think they went overboard with manipulating both teams. Even now, she might end up with L, who knows? I hope that he isn’t dying and leaving the show. I think I will just watch the whole season after it is completed, Lol!

When they start talking about where the storylines are going next season, I can't believe or trust what they're saying. I don't remember if it was Brian Bird or Lindsay that were saying Elizabeth could still end up with Lucas. (I just roll my eyes). They said they aren't doing another triangle, which I hope they don't. It's time for Elizabeth to settle down with one of these men or be happy being alone, just her & Little Jack. Then Lucas & Nathan can go on with their lives without Elizabeth as a romantic interest. People may not agree with me, but I was liking Nathan with Faith. And maybe Lucas & Fiona could become better friends. Well, time will tell. Again, thank you for your comments & I hope Season 11 is good for you.

Ela sempre amou Nathan. Não ficou com Nathan por medo de perder ele, e isso ficou bem claro quando ela disse quando se encontraram no tronco , que não PODIA que não estava preparada pra perder ele . O que aconteceu com Lucas foi um delírio dos autores que estragaram o AMOR DELA E DO NATHAN. Más agora simm resolveram voltar a idéia original. É impossível que as pessoas não perceberam na quantidade de cenas que Elizabeth demonstra o AMOR e o MEDO de perder o Nathan. Ela pensou que escolhendo Lucas não passaria pelo temor da morte , más isso não tem cabimento, pois qualquer um pode morrer. E outra coisa Lucas é totalmente o oposto do ideal de vida que ela escolheu viver o HV. Más se trata de uma obra de ficção e os autores escorregam feio na temporada 9. Erin is very good friends with Kevin so of course she is going to promote her good friend to the male lead. What bothered me a lot was Elizabeth's lie to her students that it was a mutual breakup because it was all her fault. Lucas packed the photo of his soon to be family and really wanted her by his side.

Trying to explain away the beautiful love story they developed between L and E is ridiculous and insulting to intelligent viewers!!! The new story "ruiner," as I call her, has ruined a wonderful series. If they wanted to "stay true" to the Janette Oke series, E should have chosed "The Mounty" in the first place instead of the more interesting saloon owner. In the beginning I could have been happy with either choice. I am a Kevin McGary fan so N wouldn't have disappointed me. However, once the choice was made, don't back pedal in such an unbelievable way!!! As far as I'm concerned, I have said this before, the only way they could salvage this ridiculous turn is to have E wake up from a bad dream, which this past season was, and pretend it never happened. Begin season 11 as if season 10 never really occured. Since that will not happen, as much as I will miss a show that I have watched from the pilot episode on, I don't think I will put myself through the disappointment and sadness that I feel as a result of the way they have ruined one of my all time favorite shows!!! I am now looking at WCTH as a movie rather than a series. My movie ended with L proposing to E, and E saying "Yes to all of it!"
3 years and I'm supposed to believe in a 2 week span that the love between them is over. Really? Worst way to end a love story that has not shown one ounce of Elizabeth not absolutely loving Lucas. It certainly ended after season 9 and the proposal for me. As much as I was a fan I wouldn't be able to get pass how you've made Elizabeth look. If you've watched from the beginning you know she would never have been the person you now want me to believe she is. 4 years in the making. Ridiculous!!!

Beautiful, beautiful video with a perfect song for this loving couple. It's so obvious that the love story between Lucas & Elizabeth was written with a wedding intended at the end. But in came a new show runner & writers that thought there would be better storylines if they broke this couple up & went back to Elizabeth being interested in the Mountie. Of course Nathan fans are happy, but let's see how long will it be before their happiness is ripped away. A new storyline for Elizabeth & Nathan will get boring quickly because Nathan isn't as interesting as Jack was.
Even though I am a fan of Kevin McGary, I really didn't see a lot of chemistry between his character and E. I started out expecting E to end up with N; but as the story unfolded, I began to feel the chemistry was actually between L, E and LJ. I was surprised, but not disappointed. I really didn't care which guy she chose. However, once they took us through the wonderful love story in season 9, I was sold on the L/E story. Add LJ to the equation, and it was really heartwarming and exciting. I thought their story had so many interesting possibilities. I find it totally unrealistic and absurd to try to convince a savvy audience that after all of that, she was just afraid to get involved with another Mountie. How can they dismiss all the precious moments? Our time has come! Yes, it has!!! Did I do okay Buddy? Even if we lost everything, there would still be love!!! The list could go on and on!!! I think the new story "ruiner" has miscalculated the reaction of fans, possibly ex fans, of this once realistic and believable show!!! I also wonder if even strong fans of the N/E storyline might agree that the writing and direction that the story has taken is unrealistic, unbelievable, and awkward. It is just so sad to me that they ruined one of the best series ever created. Even when Daniel Lissing wanted to leave the series, his exit, though sad, was realistic and believable!!! The direction the story has taken now lacks all of that!!! I am just soooooo sad that the writing and storyline is so far below the quality that it has always been!!! It was good while it lasted. I guess it must be extremely difficult to keep a series going for more than 8 or 9 seasons. As I look back on the all time great series, Little House is one of the few that lasted for more than 9 seasons. I had great "hope" that there really was "hope" in Hope Valley. Unfortunately, it appears that my "hope" was misplaced!!!

Elizabeth needs to apologize better to Lucas for her actions in S12. Elizabeth was an imperfect character. A flawed character. I find them interesting. I real life relationships can be complicated. WCTH co-creators, writers wrote a real, messy type of story. Not just a fantasy love storyline. Nathan and Elizabeth's love story was a gentle, "Love Comes Softly" storyline S6-S10 and LCS romance in S11. It definitely wasn't perfect Elizabeth hurt N in S8, 💔 then Lucas in S10, 💔 Then told Nathan she was in love with him in S11. ❤ It definitely was an emotional messy love story. Elizabeth hurt both men and herself. Now Nathan and Elizabeth are happy together. I want true happiness for Lucas too for Lucas to find a great, true love in S12 in CC.

His love language is yelling, scolding and aggressive questioning. What gal doesn’t love a guy who yells after her that he loves her after she rebuffs his advances? 😅 Lucas did all the love languages with Elizabeth…..not just gifts and surprises. Words of affirmation was a big YES….time and attention was a big YES….physical touch was undeniably YES….snd acts of service was definitely a big YES. They were all present and she fell in love, gave her whole heart, and adored him. The sudden change only came because a new show-runner decided to make a name for herself by re-writing history. Elizabeth has turned into a fickle and selfish person under the new show-runner who clearly is dismissive of previous seasons and willing to destroy the former storyline. Elizabeth is no longer who she has been in seasons 1-9. She and Nathan are acting super juvenile in season 11. Its weird. Its like an alternate WCTH universe. It is heartbreaking and disgusting to witness such a sudden change without reason. To use ‘safe choice’ as an excuse is pathetic. Lucas has been in an oil derrick explosion, a saloon fire, getting attacked, and now getting shot twice. He has been in more danger and risk than Nathan as a mountie. Nathan being a mountie triggered the PTSD of Jack’s death. Nathan triggered the feelings of guilt in moving on from Jack. The triangle has never been between 2 men…it was between Lucas snd Elizabeth’d clinging to grief. Nathan was the shadow that triggered the cling to the grief in being scared to move forward. She isn’t the same girl who told Nathan that she loved him but wasn’t in love with him…..and then proceeded to desperately run after Lucas. Or the same girl that was the first to say ‘I love you’. Or the girl who was upset because she didn’t think Lucas would propose to her. Two very different worlds and it is too bad that the original was ripped to shreds.

Honestly why did Elizabeth choose Lucas over Nathan if that's was going to be the case between them then? Why did she tell Nathan that she's not inlove with Nathan that she see Jack Throton in Nathan and it wouldn't be fair for neither one of them so why would she want to go through that again with Nathan if she wasn't inlove with Nathan? Why did she take off her wedding ring if she wasn't inlove with Lucas? I mean was she truly inlove with Lucas or was she just stringing him along toying with his emotions like that? Again Lucas and Elizabeth shouldn't have broken up their chemistry together romantically was off the charts. Más agora simm resolveram voltar a idéia original. É impossível que as pessoas não perceberam na quantidade de cenas que Elizabeth demonstra o AMOR e o MEDO de perder o Nathan. Ela pensou que escolhendo Lucas não passaria pelo temor da morte , más isso não tem cabimento, pois qualquer um pode morrer. Trying to explain away the beautiful love story they developed between L and E is ridiculous and insulting to intelligent viewers!!! The new story "ruiner," as I call her, has ruined a wonderful series. If they wanted to "stay true" to the Janette Oke series, E should have chosed "The Mounty" in the first place instead of the more interesting saloon owner. In the beginning I could have been happy with either choice. I am a Kevin McGary fan so N wouldn't have disappointed me. However, once the choice was made, don't back pedal in such an unbelievable way!!! As far as I'm concerned, I have said this before, the only way they could salvage this ridiculous turn is to have E wake up from a bad dream, which this past season was, and pretend it never happened. Begin season 11 as if season 10 never really occured. Since that will not happen, as much as I will miss a show that I have watched from the pilot episode on, I don't think I will put myself through the disappointment and sadness that I feel as a result of the way they have ruined one of my all time favorite shows!!! I am now looking at WCTH as a movie rather than a series. My movie ended with L proposing to E, and E saying "Yes to all of it!"

3 years and I'm supposed to believe in a 2 week span that the love between them is over. Really? Worst way to end a love story that has not shown one ounce of Elizabeth not absolutely loving Lucas. It certainly ended after season 9 and the proposal for me. As much as I was a fan I wouldn't be able to get pass how you've made Elizabeth look. Beautiful, beautiful video with a perfect song for this loving couple. It's so obvious that the love story between Lucas & Elizabeth was written with a wedding intended at the end. But in came a new show runner & writers that thought there would be better storylines if they broke this couple up & went back to Elizabeth being interested in the Mountie. Of course Nathan fans are happy, but let's see how long will it be before their happiness is ripped away. A new storyline for Elizabeth & Nathan will get boring quickly because Nathan isn't as interesting as Jack was.

Even though I am a fan of Kevin McGary, I really didn't see a lot of chemistry between his character and E. I started out expecting E to end up with N; but as the story unfolded, I began to feel the chemistry was actually between L, E and LJ. I was surprised, but not disappointed. I really didn't care which guy she chose. However, once they took us through the wonderful love story in season 9, I was sold on the L/E story. Add LJ to the equation, and it was really heartwarming and exciting. I thought their story had so many interesting possibilities. I find it totally unrealistic and absurd to try to convince a savvy audience that after all of that, she was just afraid to get involved with another Mountie. How can they dismiss all the precious moments? Our time has come! Yes, it has!!! Did I do okay Buddy? Even if we lost everything, there would still be love!!! The list could go on and on!!! I think the new story "ruiner" has miscalculated the reaction of fans, possibly ex fans, of this once realistic and believable show!!! I also wonder if even strong fans of the N/E storyline might agree that the writing and direction that the story has taken is unrealistic, unbelievable, and awkward. It is just so sad to me that they ruined one of the best series ever created. Even when Daniel Lissing wanted to leave the series, his exit, though sad, was realistic and believable!!! The direction the story has taken now lacks all of that!!! I am just soooooo sad that the writing and storyline is so far below the quality that it has always been!!! It was good while it lasted. I guess it must be extremely difficult to keep a series going for more than 8 or 9 seasons. As I look back on the all time great series, Little House is one of the few that lasted for more than 9 seasons. I had great "hope" that there really was "hope" in Hope Valley. Unfortunately, it appears that my "hope" was misplaced!!!

Elizabeth needs to apologize better to Lucas for her actions in S12. Elizabeth was an imperfect character. A flawed character. I find them interesting. I real life relationships can be complicated. WCTH co-creators, writers wrote a real, messy type of story. Not just a fantasy love storyline. Nathan and Elizabeth's love story was a gentle, "Love Comes Softly" storyline S6-S10 and LCS romance in S11. It definitely wasn't perfect Elizabeth hurt N in S8, 💔 then Lucas in S10, 💔 Then told Nathan she was in love with him in S11. ❤ It definitely was an emotional messy love story. Elizabeth hurt both men and herself. Now Nathan and Elizabeth are happy together. I want true happiness for Lucas too for Lucas to find a great, true love in S12 in CC.

Lucas is sooooo great at communicating…..very opposite of stumble mumble Nathan who is soooo socially awkward. His love language is yelling, scolding and aggressive questioning.

Lucas did all the love languages with Elizabeth…..not just gifts and surprises. Words of affirmation was a big YES….time and attention was a big YES….physical touch was undeniably YES….snd acts of service was definitely a big YES.

The sudden change only came because a new show-runner decided to make a name for herself by re-writing history.
Elizabeth has turned into a fickle and selfish person under the new show-runner who clearly is dismissive of previous seasons and willing to destroy the former storyline.

She and Nathan are acting super juvenile in season 11. Its weird. Its like an alternate WCTH universe.

Lucas has been in an oil derrick explosion, a saloon fire, getting attacked, and now getting shot twice.
He has been in more danger and risk than Nathan as a mountie.
Nathan being a mountie triggered the PTSD of Jack’s death. Nathan triggered the feelings of guilt in moving on from Jack.
The triangle has never been between 2 men…it was between Lucas snd Elizabeth’d clinging to grief. Nathan was the shadow that triggered the cling to the grief in being scared to move forward.
She isn’t the same girl who told Nathan that she loved him but wasn’t in love with him…..and then proceeded to desperately run after Lucas. Or the same girl that was the first to say ‘I love you’. Or the girl who was upset because she didn’t think Lucas would propose to her.
Two very different worlds and it is too bad that the original was ripped to shreds.

Honestly why did Elizabeth choose Lucas over Nathan if that's was going to be the case between them then? Why did she tell Nathan that she's not inlove with Nathan that she see Jack Throton in Nathan and it wouldn't be fair for neither one of them so why would she want to go through that again with Nathan if she wasn't inlove with Nathan?
