I think he has family in our area. Clemson is a good respectable program that everyone likes to look down on but I say to to all you nay sayers……don’t doubt Dabo and the Tigers.
it's ridiculous. We won two national titles and played in two more title games in the last 8 years. Penn state hasn't played for a single one in 39 years
Clemson's reach is pretty good already, though. Players from CA and OH show up on the roster often. TX getting more routine. FL and GA load up the roster a good bit. NC and VA too.
Facts. Clemson reach due to what dabo has done since after the Massive L in the orange bowl has gone full scale. Even in current down years they still attract players because they now hear about Clemson regularly. That won't ever go away now that it exists.
Penn State is one of the top programs in football. I'm sure there are coaches everywhere who would love to go there. And I look for FSU to turn things around soon.
You think Penn State is one of the top programs in football? Define top? If you say around the 20th best, you'll have an argument. I can look up the attendance, revenue, facilities, conference titles, final rankings, TV viewership, coaching turnover, CFP appearances and wins over the last 10-15 years. And if you have to go back further than that to prove a point, then your program has been in trouble. I have no problem with Penn State, but don't make some unrealistic claim.
@@timkinley1779 20th best is laughable. When is the last time PSU ever finished near 20th in the rankings? They have top 10 revenue, a rising NIL which will only increase with revenue sharing and sell out every single home game. They also churn out draft picks every year. You have no clue what you're talking about.
And you are pretty much bound to earn your degree.. you go to the nfl as a junior, 10 years later, your academic scholorship is waiting. Build men, not players.

He left because his daughter and wife were in the area and him being away from his kids and wife took a toll on him so the main reason was he wanted to be able to not only coach at the most consistent program in college football but to be able to spend time with his family plus Matt Luke is the o-line coach at Clemson so he had the connection to so it makes sense when you think about it
Yall forget the only other team that's been as consistent as Clemson in over a decade is Alabama. Tom will do well at Clemson. We are excited to see a high level of defense again.
Lol big dog. I can only understand 1 out of 3 words Allen says plus who dud he recruit to PSU? No one is answer guy in video making shit up he called decent to good games but he definitely replaceable.
Absolutely agree...with your first portion of comment. It will not happen. ND is a gold standard position for anyone especially when ND is playing good football. He would have to sell out for a bag but I doubt he would do that.
@andrewroof8042 I just don't think they would want to spend upwards of 2 Million plus to get him to switch. I think Lynn makes the most sense. Martindale from Michigan would be another good one but he's already one of the highest paid assistants
I'm sorry but for a coordinator to only stay one year is really bad. These kids have to learn a new system all over again. PS doesn't seem to retain coach's.
Clemson is an upgrade. He is going to make more money and better climate, plus more chance to win a national championship. His family lives there, too.
@kentjones3418 They just won the ACC and have four from the portal in three weeks. Just so there is no confusion, this is me calling you on your bs statement.
Big upgrade. Penn State can and will wallow in mediocrity as their record for the last 20+ years plainly and clearly shows, while Coach Allen will be in the playoffs and division championship games until he retires.
@@JeffButera Surprisingly, I thought it would be more. Not sure what he made at PSU, but I am sure it is comparable. Crazy thing is, some of these college QB's are making more than that for 1-year. Nonetheless, wish Tom well - thought he was a good character person.

I think it is lateral in that it is a power 4 school and as @jasonsantelli6588 and others have stated, not a historically relevant from a national championship level status. With a due respect: Clemson has always been a respectable, successful, competitive program historically known for its defensive teams. A quality program for sure with multiple NCs, but It’s not a blue blood program.
Clemson is definitely a blue blood at this day and age of football. Multiple national titles and too many conference titles to count. Known world wide for their dominance and it doesn’t matter what conference they dominate, someone has to do it and that has been Clemson for the last decade
Idk what he’s smoking, Allen sucks. That soft ass zone is horrible oh and who constantly gives up big run plays on 2nd and 3rd and 15+.. Hence Boise and ND. I’m glad he left

@TintedBlue5 Since 2010 they have finished unranked four times. So there's that.
It's very simple, there is major competition in the B1G as far as getting to the playoffs. In the ACC, there is only SMU, and a few possibles.
