It feels like when the children/heirs of some hero (or heroes) discover the history of their parents (predecessors) and we see they in a flashback, where they sacrifice themselves to seal the evil from the world that will revive at some point, but everything will be fine, the future will be safe, thanks to her legacy. And yes, I'm basing this a bit on the plot of Bravely Default II
this feels like a long awaited reunion between 2 mentor characters at the end of a story, with the final battle ending with them playing the last part in the villain’s defeat “One last dance, for old times sake?” “Never thought you’d ask.”

I get that we have gone through some hard things ...rivals as some call it but *Brother,* though I've never called you that we must fight together there are bigger threats now and its a hell of a time to fight along side you (...based of me and my bros past experiences)

The hero gives an exhausted yet relieved smile at this notion, and helps the villain up. They stare into the horizon, facing the hundreds of adversaries they have left to fight. They stand, ending their long lasted rivalry, not as enemies… but as friends.
